This new Sims 4 Scenario is actually really good (I am gobsmacked)

Playing the new Sims 4 Family Fortune Scenario! In this Sims 4 let's play I tried the new in-game scenario. This is a Sims 4 LP.

If that’s true it’s 💩 Cheesing the game defeats the point of playing the challenge - it’s The Sims, we don’t need to be prevented from cheating Bc there’s literally no point. It’s a sandbox game. If we play an actual challenge it’s bc we actually want to. If we win fairly that’s only for ourselves. We can just grab ALL the awards from plugging away in the cheats bar. The photo shoot paying out so much in relationships was actually NEEDED for many challenges.

I don’t know I personally haven’t seen it anywhere, but if you have high school years on social bunny, if you add the sim you don’t have a relationship with, I just keep sending the friendly messages it really boosts the friendship level

The family tree took me out, because the Sims team just did things the lazy way and made this family in CAS - where you cannot set a grandparent family relationship without a parent. The only way grandparents are recognised is through breeding/genetics. All they had to do was make granny and a mom who was granny's daughter, then make the kids in CAS. They could have just then killed the mom. As a result of their laziness, the siblings aren't even related to Granny. That isn't even their grandmother, all because they couldnt be arsed to make one other Sim 😭

They wouldn't even have had to kill the mom. They could have made granny, the mom, and kids and deleted the mom. I did that to get a child and aunt situation.

If the relationship would have stuck after deleting, it would have carried through into everyone's scenarios too, just like it does when you download a family from the gallery. If they had issues with relationships sticking post-mom-deletion, they could have killed mom, and put her urn in Granny's house and just had her as a ghost so that the relationship was definitely set. Either way, it is 1000% doable, and if it wasn't then what does that say about the Sims team's work and the game itself? Oh but wait! Maybe she's their step granny! Or their foster grandma who helped raise them! Oh... But the game doesn't recognise step-family and foster family relationships 🫠 So much of what floors me about the team's work is wrapped up nearly into this one little package. Madness.

It's because the only way the game recognises grandparents is through breeding, you can't set a grandparent-grandchild relationship in CAS and the Sims team just did things the lazy way and made this family in CAS. These Sims aren't actually related to their "grandmother" 😭

@@mortal-enemy wait really? I thought if you make like an elder, an adult and a child, and you make the adult the child's parent and the elder the adult's parent then automatically it sets the child as the elders grandchild? That's stupid if it doesn't reflect that in the family tree

I actually started playing it recently! Gave them all a makeover, popped them in a mansion in Newcrest, and let them fight it out. Lila and Ava are constantly at each other’s throats, and Eddie is just trying to vibe.

It’s not actually impossible to make incompatible Sims friends, you just have to pay attention to what kinds of topics/interactions actually work. If they disagree on music, don’t discuss music. If one hates comedy, don’t tell jokes. Etc.

Exactly! One of my sims hate comedy (she’s a serious lady, especially after her husband died tragically and her beloved step-daughter betrayed her), while another sim who lives with her is mischievous and a bit of a jokester. The two of them are best friends. It took a bit, especially with trying to make sure my jokester sim wasn’t leveling up her mischief on my poor comedy-hater sim, but as long as I tried having them say things they other would like, they got along great.

You can use the drink globe or drink trays that came with the backyard stuff and spa day to serve drinks instead of the bar. Also, you can just get drinks of water from the sink. I don't like letting my sims autonomously do things because they either make it worse or just screw up something.

i think growing together made it better. i took the whole family a whole day to san sequoia. playing simbles together was like magic, then i let them take a walk together there and fish together, let them talk a lot of nice things and they where already quite better.

You can two sims be friend with a bad compatibility but you got to be very mindful of the likes and dislikes and choose interactions that would be more favorable to the other sim. Because of that it’s nice to not have something so easily achieved in the game.

You don't have to cheat the bad compatibility, you just need to make use of the countless pf group activities. I have them play cards fpr 2 days and they're all best friends!

This scenario is not good. It's actually really shitty. Ava will always get over 100 000 simoleons, followed by Eddie and then Lila. Despite the fact Ava will have the worst relationship with Granny, no promotions and no romantic relationship (while Eddie and Lila have romantic relationship and were promoted multiple times, Lila was best friend with granny while Ava was not). So it doesn't really matter what you do with the sims, the ending is the same. Unless you repair relationship only with some siblings I guess - I didn't test that theory, I repaired the relationships it two separate safe files as the ending is bugged and in one I got stuck without ending before I figured out I can recover older version. So for me, definitely disappointment...

Fastest way to cheese their relationships from garbage to bestie is through social bunny, just spam friendly messages until they all stop hating each other. Double the speed on a microhome lot

I had granny visit a different lot, and just gave the siblings the task to socialise with eachother, while she was away. She was away for three days, but when she returned to the household, they siblings were all friends. :P Easy peasy.

Apparently, EA "fixed" the photography hack that raises friendship really quickly. I mean, come on! Of all the glitches in this game this is the one you chose to "fix"? We didn't want that one fixed - it was fine the way it was. How about fixing Dine Out, or My Wedding Disasters, or any of the other packs?

Mud carp is just a type of fish (a variety of carp). They often get wierd names. Like a fish in north America is called a Crappie (yeah, I know). I mean you could name a fish an asphalt cod or asbestos tuna and still make fish and chips or a sandwich from it.

i did it with chess, and taking a pic together here and there and apologizing , the brother as the last one to come around but i ended the scenario with all of them in green relationship status and they all got way more than he did on this one. ava got 150,000 and the siblings a bit less of course lol

Ava died of laughter like 2nd day and granny grew ambrosia for her family goals Granny now does art and gardening, is in a relationship with victor feng and she has a science baby Eddies a tech guru and does all the repairing in the house, avas a successful businesswoman and lila is an ametuer entertainer that likes to cook

I'm having the same issue. Siblings apologized, no negative sentiments remain but the game won't process that I'll gues I'll just wait a bit more BTW I had siblings and grandma dance and talk while dancing. After that I used the funny interaction a lot

This scenario is kind of hard, which I like. Negative feelings make it almost impossible for them to talk at first. I made them cook dinner together. It helped a lot, because while they are cooking, the conversations work and they get a positive feeling too.

I tried the challenge. Theyre all on 100 Friendship, no bad moods, they all love eachother since days. There was nothing bad between them since then. But still the heal negative sentiments is still on 0/1. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, nobody can apologize because there's nothing to apologize for. The task just won't finish. Anyone know why? Or do I have to try the challenge from the beginning...

i had my Sims apologize to each other, and tried to have them hug. granny accepted the apology, but rejected the hug, which started the fight and hatred all over again worse than it was before. i got them all jobs, that didnt make her happy either. i filed all of their skills, that didnt make granny happy either. the more i tried, the angrier her and Leela got. i couldnt even use a cheat to help their moods or friendship with each other. i finally gave up and just ended the scenario! - edit* i dont have growing together, but i did notice they have the mean trait. that makes them even meaner. also without the loyalty trait, they have no reason to get along. - i had Leela go around collecting, and doing the gardening.

Create an holiday with the gratitude tradition and have one sibling spam the mailbox with thank you letters. Each one improve your relation and your overall reputation. That way, I got two Sims it 100% red friendship become best friends without them interacting directly. Taking photos have been severely nerfed in a recent update... It's a mere shadow of what it used to be. Bad compatibility don't prevent Sims from building friendship. It only make it harder. Horrible compatibility make it very hard.

I just played this recently. Ava and Eddie became friends easily while Lila is just hot-headed which was a part of her trait, I think. It literally is so hard to convince Lila to say sorry until she started to hate deep thoughts.

Hey Satch! I am currently playing that scenario and also have the growing together pack, ergo the family dynamics and my family dynamics between all the siblings were difficult, plus Lila was incompatible with all the other ones in her household...it's superdifficult getting out of the red area in their relationship-display (have been spending days to even find out, what topics might be okay and which interaction might be okay with what sims), but it's possible to improve their relationshio without any mods or cheats. Just don't let them interact with each other atonomosly AT ALL! 😂😂 The star/cloud gazing trick and the dacing together one (mentioned by some in the comments) is a good one, i suppose...i will probably use that the next time, playing to get them friends, because it is actually quite draining without that and takes A LOT OF EFFORT! 😅😂

I just did this scenario and got them all friends via playing chess, dancing together and cooking together. Lukcily worked despite the bad compatibility and the difficult family dynamics that came with growing together, phew. They got over £200k for the inheritance, I might redo it with the opposite choices this time and see how it effects the outcome

Ok getting walls of paintings from the gallery to sell them to an art gallery to clear the money hurtle def trumps my hoarding collectibles and things to massively sell off when I finally get to that part. By far working smarter not harder, damn. Ava has 300 begonias in her inventory ready to go plus collectibles but this is by far smarter.

I put them in Henford on bagley in a two bedroom just to make the scenario bad it was really good I was able to get all the sims in a friendly mood they all found love and jobs got the money and they split the money 3 ways and left the house one of the grandkids stayed and took care of the farm

I actually made them become friends pretty easy. I just put one sim in another place and let them text one of the other sims and the other sims had to make contacts with one of the others and that increased the relationship quite a lot. (Sorry for my bad English. I'm used to the German words) But somehow although the siblings didn't have any bad feelings anymore the heal negative feelings still didn't work. Does anybody know what to do?

I don't know about the bad compatability being neccessarily that much of a hinderance. I have two couples in my save file who are married and one couple has bad compatability and the other has awful compatability. It can happen. Also, if you do that again, have them all play games together or work puzzles as it builds relationships. I had my sims play Sabacc and Don't Wake the Llama.
