"Just because you could make something good out of something bad, doesn't make it good" Well said. I kind of wish he were more dramatic about it, too.

it sounds like his input signal is way too hot. i made a diy record press once and cut sounds into compact discs. it sounded surprisingly clear but lot of artifacts and sounded lofi but not like pleasantly created lofi, more like a blanket is on the speakers. it was a lot of fun tho and if you think about the fact that you're creating sound like when records were invented is pretty epic. unless you're investing like ten of thousands of dollars or more tho, a home record press will just be for messing around lol. there are also a lot of things you can adjust for better quality. idk what he physically did to make these records. maybe re configuring some things and values like pressure and speed, cutter material, wires, etc, could give better results. dude have you ever seen a pic online of vinyl record grooves on a microscope? it's actually insane looking. there's even footage of a needle travelling the grooves. looks like a sci fi movie landscape very cool stuff

I’d buy it only to modify the hell out of it. The speaker and the cutting needle would have to be replaced

Didn't Vestax do this years ago, only better?

The vestax one cost like 10,000 dollars I think. Then they went out of business 😭
