This shield is basically an Ascendancy and a keystone combined… so that’s pretty strong.

But only the downside of said keystone. You don't get spell block for overcapped block. 15% is nice but far from the 65% you would need to cap using the shield. Finding 50% Chance to block spells is extremly difficult.

It dioesnt give attack dmg block as spell dmg block which is huge because that means that you need spell dmg block and the only nodes in the tree are in top left. Which means you probably use that on Templaer (maybe witch) builds that dont have an easy time reaching the keystone.

@@chidori0117 Tempest shield exists. 15% from shield, 13% from mastery, ~30% from tempest shield = 58%. Shouldn't be too hard to find an additional 7%. Annointing safeguard would get you to the 68% cap.

i REALLY like the change that you make a funny intro every time. time will tell how many more times you will manage that till you run out of ideas xD I also prefer the videos where we just see the content and no cam footage. I always find it distracting when people show themselves talking since the eyes are naturally drawn to movement. And when the rest of the screen is a still image of facts, the eyes tend to wander.

What about moving cam window, that bounces around the screen like the DVD logo on old TVs. Cam window should be blured out just like the background footage. Also can be changed to subway surfer footage floating around, to catch more viewes from zoomers.

Worth noting that penance mark is back from one of the new unique rings. If put on a boss monster you will be able to have the 3 phantasms up constantly providing you the luck block directly from glad without the need for the shield. The choice comes down to giving up a ring or giving up a shield

Something you neglected to mention when comparing it to Mjolnir: You don't pay mana to trigger the lightning spell in Mjolnir. You *_WILL_* pay mana to trigger whatever spell is in Svalinn. With a 0.25 cooldown you'll be chonking through mana pretty regularly with a high block setup.

the use of the retaliation skill in the shield is useless sinces its conditon of the block but i dont think this trigger bypasses the cooldown, meaning you gain no effect of placing it inside the shield vs anywhere els. the use i see for this shield is anything that gain some block lets say that 1 good note at bottom+ maby tempest shield and that mastery, and be rocking high effective block at almost no cost. and then have some smart use of triggering some elemental skills, for defence or offence.

This is stupid strong on elementalist, you can get +65% attack and spell block for little investment and WITHOUT tempest shield, With bastion of elements, any ele damage that isn't blocked is mitigated by the aegis, you could get easily 2.5k bastion of elements. Im trying to find ways to mitigate phys now that phys taken as x has been nerfed for little investment, maybe the new ward belt will be good with a high Armour base

That shield + Versatile Combatant alone easily gives 80/80. The real cap is 55/55 but due to lucky, it can go to 80/80. That's a crazy small investment for huge benefit

As I understand it, it is essentially rolled twice and the best outcome is chosen. So if you have 75% chance to block, and it misses, it rolls again an the better outcome is chosen. The ~88% number is just the increased average chance of blocking a hit due to to this, not your actual block chance cap stat.

Non conditional 90%+ block will have even gladiators using this instead of their best node. Also this enables retaliate too! I would probably socket wave of conviction flammability combustion in it.

@anonname7610 trauma did not get nerfed at all....the multipliers are mich higher you are comparing a 30% decrease to 245% increase on base added damage....what nerf???? The block is extra survival and tank and you use the trauma to heal as a Jug or restore ES with divine. You socket snap for chill and frenzy. This is not 90% you get 20% decrease down to 55% so that is 75% on linear progression. Gladiators got 65%, well 70, that's 90%

The point of the shield is not for triggering retailation skill but for you do still do damage when your retailation skill is on CD.

@@winboyjlg Which shouldn't happen in a salvage hit " retailation warcry" build, which triggers on 15% health lost, which than should get a 70% chance to trigger a different retailation skill, which than should get 35% chance on double use, which also has a 70% chance to trigger again a retaliation skill. If it works like I belief, you can "pain yourself" to trigger the retaliation combo even in boss fights, without tanking real hits from the boss.

It's not unconditional; the condition is the -10% to maximum blocks. It is still an interesting shield.

That's not the meaning of conditional in this situation. Conditional means that it requires a prerequisite state to be active for the benefit to be enabled (eg. Low life or poisoned)
