found this video the day before alpha tester apps reopened, and im pleased to say ive been loving the experience! the discord community is so lively, and all of the art in the game is absolutely gorgeous!! its obvious theres a ton of care being put into this

oooh, love me a new petsite to get excited about! though, and i'm hoping its not just me- but do the shopkeeper/quest/practically all the human npcs' look like ai to y'all? or, at the least, artist-cleaned ai images. i cant get it out of my head, but when compared to the original artwork on the site (for the pets and items), it sticks out like a sore thumb.

The artist for the NPCs in the video was recently confirmed to have used AI in the design process. The actual sketch, lines, and rendering were all done by hand, which fooled a lot of people, myself included, since there were speedpaints of the process available. The devs have since hired a new artist and are in the process of remaking all the NPC art with no AI involvement.

Well made video, don't get me wrong. As a former Santae artist, however, the experience working there was awful. Artists and coders were not treated fairly, and there's a lot of legality issues. I'm glad people are enjoying what we built, though. 😊 Maybe management has changed since then, and it's a lot better for the employees.

Yeah I’m no longer working for Santae either. (I joined staff after making this video, as a moderator and then as a TikTok content creator.) I know a lot of folks have had really bad experiences there. For me, it was nice until one of the owners got really bizarrely passive aggressive and I just have too much good going on in my life to put up with the bad hahaha!

Alpha is really, really fun so far! I begged my whole entire DnD group to sign up and will be bothering the crap out of them constantly to play with me 🤣 to be fair, I did this same routine years ago with FlightRising. Other Alpha Testers, feel free to friend me! My name on Santae is Fennec!
