You missed his biggest statistic. He is 4th all-time in pro football with 20,130 yards from scrimmage. #1 Rice, #2, Smith, #3 Payton, #4 Walker. There is no better measure of a players offensive production than yards form scrimmage. Herschel Walker is 4th all time 13,084 in the NFL plus 7, 046 in the USFL. He should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame for this one statistic.
@biggalaxy9102 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the NFL won't count the stats of their competition for that time. But I hear your argument. Saludos.
@carnivalgods45739 ай бұрын
I see him as 12th all time in the NFL 18,160. (rushing, receiving, and kick returns) If you add his USFL total yards which is over 7K he's first and it's not very close. Needless to say had he gone straight to the NFL he likely would have finished much higher than 12th. Tremendous all around athlete.

I met a guy here in Chicago who played against Herschel in highschool. One game Herschel team was down by one with less than a minute left. The fella I was talking to was a safety. The ball came to Herschel and he busted thru the defensive line and this safety was the only one who could stop him. Herschel came steam rolling towards him. The safety went down to tackle him. Then he stopped talking and I asked him did he tackle Hersche? The guy said he made contact......awoke up in the hospital. He saw film footage of Herschel hitting him with his high running knee that knocked him out. Herschel rolling thru him, clashed hel.ets and scored the winning touchdown!

Great video. I grew up a Dallas cowboy's fan, and I thought Hershel was the savior, finally going to put Dallas back on top. Instead, the traded him ( a move thst troy aikmen also questioned) , and fired Tom Landry ( a year or two before) their only coach in history. I stopped being a cowboy's fan, but always followed Hershel. In the past 5 years, I've only done push-ups and pull-ups, and basically eat one meal a day, all because of Hershel. The fact he's still competing at mma is inspiring.

When I was in Jr. High School, we had a kid that was naturally chiseled body, and a super-fast in Football and Track, when we graduated from Jr. High School to High School, this kid from Freshman year when straight to Varsity, I mean he was that good, we were friends and I told him I could see him play in the NFL one day and not to forget me when he got there. In mid-season in a home game, he was playing defense, made and open field tackle, my friend when down and never got up, unfortunately we learn later he fractured his cervical spine and that he maybe paralyzed from the neck down, but thru Physical Therapy and Love from our School and prayers, he came back the following year (sophomore) walking, but his young football years were over, Doctor told my friend if he play football and got hit again he real will be paralyzed, and maybe die from that hit, my friend moved on as we all did, I moved to California, lost contact with him but I think about him from time to time and hope we is doing well. Thanks for listening, but I know he would have been the First Hershal Walker ever. THE SARGE
