He's affordable, young, fits the vision the team has, reeks of identity as a player. All things that the flames needed (need) and lacked before. I'd put it differently, then: Cozens isn't worth Pospisil leaving.

There is no way Calgary is trading Popsicle away! He's the engine of that flames team and a guy who's maturing into a really rare type of player that is both above average point scorer but also a great enforcer with big physical presence that competes 100% every shift. Not to mention his speed!

Im from western NewYork. I was against getting rid of mittlestat. This GM has ruined the franchise and is horrible. Lindy was never the answer. They need to get some of these players playing better together. A Dman like Andersson wouldn't be a bad idea if they could move someone like cozens and Byram because they need a new start. at least cozens does

In terms of 5v5 scoring they are fine and are actually in the top half of the league on this(10th last I checked) as of right now. They’ve scored 14 goals in 3 games so far. The whole point of trading Mittlestadt was to give the D Core a boost and allow Dahlin to play on his proper side. If Byram is playing with Power then getting Andersson to allow Dahlin to play on his preferred side would strengthen the team. Especially since Defence has been the weak point of the last 2 games. But also it’s still too early.

Yeeee, just checked again, so here we go. In terms of expected Goals they are ranked 11th at a 52.02% Ranked 3rd in shot attempts at a 55.86%. 2nd in Goals for on 5v5 at 14. 3rd in expected Goals for at 12.88 10th in Expected Goal Differential with 1. And Money Puck has them ranked 11th on 5v5. Fix special teams, specifically their Power Play, and this is a good team. Their Penalty Kill is also really good too, last few games don’t represent it. Fix the Power Play though, that’s what’s killing the team.

I don’t mind Byram at all and he does help boost the D Unit as a whole in terms of just talent. BUT if there was a redo button, it would be the Mittlestadt for Byram trade. I have no idea what’s happened to Cozens, but he looks just absolutely lost out there.

I’d be so sad if they traded the Marty Party😢 The only problem with Cozens is that it’s long term and we already have a lot of expensive long term contracts, and would we really want to risk 7 million in cap space for somebody that might flop in Calgary. Interesting to think about.

With the way Huberdeau is playing with a guy like Pospisil, you do not trade him. Rasmus Andersson is one of those top Right shot D, so he's worth a lot especially to a team like buffalo that is quite weak on their right side.

Also Calgary gonna want to see next year how much Andersson wants for a extension or if hes not interested in one. But dont be surprised if Anderson signs a 8 year 7.8 million dollar extension with a potential future Flames Captain after Backs retire or moves on. But deep down i want Utah to do great and they need a Andersson so we can land Iggy Jr as part of the trade

This is a rough watch other than the pure coincidence that Calgary said they want a younger center. 7mil is a boat anchor on a struggling player plus if he goes into a Canadian market, it isnt getting easier on your self esteem bud. At least in buffalo he’s hidden away with the whole team under performing. Anderson is worth A TON this year if he’s even hinted at being available… Calgary can do better than scraps

As a flames fan I'd like to see Cozens as a flame, but I'm not sold on trading Raz unless he actually wants out. He's one of the only two legit top 4 defenseman we have. And pospisil seems to work well with Huberdeau, for the same reason Bennett did. I'm also not sold on buffalo wanting Andersson, or Andersson wanting to be in buffalo, playing under so many guys.

I think Dylan's problem is that he's trying to live up to the contract. If he just plays much like he did 2 years ago, He'd be fine. From a Sabres standpoint, they have a pretty damn good top D corp. They have Dahlin, Power, Samualsson, Byrum... with Clifton, Joki Gilbert, and Bryson all fighting for the last 2 spots with Ryan Johnson in the Ahl showing he's damn close too.

I sadly think the ship sailed for the Sabers last year when they traded Mittelstadt for Byram. Also I don't have faith in Adams to pull of a big trade that's part of his problem. I don't think they can make the playoffs with him as GM since he's one of Pegula boys.

Not sure who came up with this trade but nothing really makes sense about this deal. Buffalo needs help up front. Bringing in Andersson would make their blue line great but he has never actually said he wanted to leave Calgary. Besides with the way he is playing, Flames could get something better than Cozens. No way in Hell Flames will ever trade Pospisil anytime soon. He is currently playing center and he is a spark plug.

Alot of pressure on cozens when Thompson not doing any better. They want Anderson? Buffalo has stacked defense already. They need to revamp that foward core. When I see them play it just looks extremely sloppy. Their depth they added this offeason isn't anything special so yea their core needs to drive the bus and they are not. The trade doesn't make sense at all. Maybe... Cozens for Rakell. Mid 6 C for mid 6 W. Anderson for any Mtl prospect and prob more. Anderson on mtl will 100% solidfy them. Cgy adds those young pieces to speed up the rebuild. Mtl and Det have really good prospects and should be looking to flip them for solid players. Ott and Buf do not have the assets they have. This is the year to show because it can't be the same 4 teams when these teams essentially have been trying to get in past 2-3 years...

Cozens I'll give what Florida gave for Bennett. If Andersson is involved then Powers Cozen with moving parts with both teams. This would be buying low on Cozens, 7 million contract will be hard to trade not many teams can afford as Cozens true worth is a 4 million in a few years worth his 7 million but to be fair this year for the most part if Andersson gets traded is cause he wants one.
