The mouse pointer functionality may be less about placing your Joycon on a table like a traditional mouse and more for holding it against the side of your leg while in a seated position. It could work great for FPS games.

Maybe not. When they passed 100million switch sales they literally stopped marketing anything as they didn’t need to. If the reveal is in March and the gaming community is hyping this so much without any money spent by Nintendo it’s unreal. Reggie went around talk shows etc with Switch post Wii U failure. Now they can probably release a photo on X and still sell the system. Sony has Pro coming out and Xbox is talking about a beefier console than X next. Switch 2 will have not much to compete with as it is if it’s backwards compatible.

imagine playing quake with the new mouse functionality and still passing the hotdog test! Alternatively if both joycons have mouse functionality you could do something like aim a bow with the right joycon, place the left joycon on the table to grab the arrow, actively pull the joycon back on the table and the speed and rate you do it also match the in game arrow's draw speed. Once youve pulled it, you just take the left joycon off the table and your character releases his/her arrow! You couls also combine mouse aiming with sword gyroscope controls to where you dual wield a gun and a sword to where you control the sword like in skyward sword but you control the camera and gun aiming with the right hand joycon you use for mouse controls! There are also avenues to give games more inputs this way too! (maybe the right camera stick can be replaced with something else! also you could use both joycons as mice in a game like wario ware where you try to grab as many coins with both hands or like you said have another mario paint but since you have a second mouse you can use two different tools and grab two different objects and manipulate them such as one hand being the scalpel and the other being the hand that moves the cut-out object to another location!

The red light you see on the Joy-Cons is the method used to transmit input signals. It's an optical transmission, similar to how a TOSLINK cable works. The advantage is that there's no lag, as the signals are transmitted at nearly the speed of light. That's all there is to it-it's not a mouse-like functionality. This is a very strange situation as factory leaks are something that tons of tech has to deal with but to have seemingly dozens of third party companies not only making Switch 2 accessories but actively advertising them along with seemingly accurate mockups of the system itself before Nintendo has even officially revealed the system is WILD! It's so many at this point that the only reason I can see for this to even be possible is that Nintendo clearly delayed the announcement of Switch 2 (and possibly the launch) but all of these entities had already begun designing and creating their products. These are not things that you could just create overnight and it's kind of insane that it's all just out there and Nintendo isn't saying or doing anything about it.

I noticed that on their site, the Case they had attached to the Switch 2 has a ring on the back, which usually is a sign that it has wireless charging.... I wonder if Genki is using the top USB C port to give the Switch 2 Wireless Charging capabilities?

I saw someone looking in to the mouse-hybrid-thing with the controller saying that it looked like there were "glide pads" on the top and bottom of the joycons. In this video it looks more like it beeing pins that pushes out the joycons when you press the black release button. I hope that it can double as "glide pads" so that the mouse rumors be true, because I really find that intriguing!

The button turns off the magnet and then you pull it off. If the buttons pushed out the Joy con without turning off the magnet that wouldn’t make any sense because you could just pull it off anytime while you were playing by accident.

@@paintfatpurple7394 Hopefully so. But if you look att 2:57 in the video the pin on the joycon sticks out, but in the leaked photo of the joycon the other day it was flat with the "glide pad". So I´m thinking that the release button maby turns of the magnet and also pushes the joycon out, so that it releases in a controlled manner and not damaging the connector? I don't know, just hoping that it can duoble as a mouse :)
