Welcome back to another epic fragrance battle. Today I compare several popular fragrances head to head with one another, primarily focusing on the note of caramel.

I think that if the clone is at the same price point or close to the original, then it's unfair to the original designer, because it's the same target clientele that the dupe company is targeting, but if it's an inexpensive dupe of a very expensive perfume, then the target clientele is not really the same, I don't see a problem with it. I'm not willing, at this moment, to spend $350 on a fragrance, but I would buy a much cheaper dupe and if I really like it, I would consider buying the original in the future.

Yes! I love that and agree with that logic! That’s how I felt about Pas Ce Soir specifically. You can get it on sale at a good price, not too much more than the DUA dupe, so I definitely wanted the original in that case!! 😊

Same. I wouldn’t blind buy any perfumes costing over $70 without sampling it first. I have the money for it, but I still wouldn’t waste that money… mostly b/c I know first hand how shitty it is having to sell or somehow get rid of a full bottle that you don’t like 😂😂 it is much better sometimes, to get a decant or a dupe and test it out for a while before buying a $300-500 dollar bottle

Fun review! I loved several of your comments here. Thank you for stating how important performance is - particularly for fragrances at a higher price point. Also, yes, healthy competition is good for the marketplace - especially when fragrance houses are so often charging exorbitant prices for low-to-average performing perfumes. I sometimes miss the strong, inexpensive fragrances of the 80s & 90s, and I often feel that we're getting ripped off these days. Perfumes are currently packed with aldehydes (which smell lovely and are very inexpensive to produce), but then the scents are gone in a minute!

Completely! I couldn’t agree more! This is what I’ve debated for months, now, on Lost Cherry. I do really like the scent but I just don’t know if it’s worth $250-500 for me to have the bottle in my collection. Sigh!! 😬. Thanks for watching!! 💕💕

Thanks Sara! I had really high expectations for Changing Constance. I’m so grateful I didn’t blind buy on a whim….I was obsessing over it before I tried it! 😬. It IS nice, just disappointed overall from what I thought it’d be!

That was fun hearing your thoughts on these similar fragrances! 😊 I enjoy both Changing Constance and Minuit et Demi, but sometimes Minuit et Demi goes masculine on me. Both are so lovely though! My 10 mL decant of Minuit et Demi will have to last me a while because the price of the full bottle is big bucks 💵

I know what you’re saying. I actually think just 6 months ago just would’ve thought Minuit et Demi was too masculine. Perfumes like Bois Dore, Nirvana Amethyst and Gris Charnel have made me appreciate more of the unisex (even masculine leaning). Completely get what you’re saying on this one!! 😊

@@gourmindy6449 I spent an embarrassing amount of hours looking up reviews today ha. I think ultimately I’m too materialistic and just want the real thing. It’s like wearing a fake bag..even if others don’t know or care..I would know and not get the same feeling🙈. They really should offer sampler sets though! Also, you really need to get a full bottle of Angels Share!!

Yes, for sure! I am always open to clones, too! I know everyone isn’t, and that’s ok, but sometimes they can have even better performance and/ or scent! 🤷‍♀️💕😊

What about the longevity and silliage of Changing Constance? Is it really that tragic?

In my opinion, yes, tragic is a good word. Makes me wonder if people go nose blind to it (myself included). I’ve seen people recommend buying Minuit et Demi instead just for the lasting power/projection instead. I haven’t wanted to do that, either, because of the price tag!!

I must have gotten a bad sample of minuit demi, cause its such a scrub off. Smells a bit like nestle baby dinner….
