Did you have to size up your vest? Looking at getting one.
@UncleBogator6 ай бұрын
@@davehowie03 I took the time to measure myself according to their chart. I’m a big guy so I didn’t want it to be too small. Looking like a sausage casing. I ended up a size bigger than tshirts.

That bike looks like it was built by someone who knew what they were doing, then sold to someone who...didn't, who then sold it to Uncle Bogator. I dig that color.

😅Very possible they put on that carb just to have an s&s. Stock 80 inch do great with a well tuned CV and a .495 cam like the ev27.

Sounds like you're about to learn. Lol. They're a great carb. But a lot guys will just bolt them on and go, without the proper fine tuning. Good luck.

Should probably be in the low range jet kit for an 80in evo. When i lived in tampa mine had a .0295 and a 70 with an ev27 cam and it seemed to run great
@UncleBogator6 ай бұрын
Thing is I think those are both in different ranges. 70 is low range and 295 is high range if I recall right. I’m gonna try it with the recommended 72 and 295 and see where to go from there. If I’m still rich then I wasted money lol

i believe you need the washer to help seal the drain plug to the pan
@UncleBogator6 ай бұрын
it's not in the parts diagrams for this bike. But it's pretty thick. It's definitely not a washer like you're probably thinking. Looks more like a collar that would fit inside of a different model's drain hole.
@FeatheredDino6 ай бұрын
A quick temporary fix for the leaking oil pan/tank because of the stretched threads is to use some Teflon tape on the drain plug itself. Only on the end near the bolt head though. Don't want that shit getting into your engine. Nevermind disregard. Shoulda watched the whole damn video before commenting 😅
@UncleBogator6 ай бұрын
lol all good! I considered teflon tape but since the threads were angled, I didn't want to risk getting in the oil
@crust6166 ай бұрын
This bike needs a CV or mikuni carb. S&S is for drag racing.

You should use Gaskacinch on anything that contacts oil. Silicone will break off and get in oil passages and thus restrict oil flow.

I’ve never seen anyone adjust the chain with the rear tire in the air. I do mine at 1.25” with the tire on the ground on its own weight
@UncleBogator6 ай бұрын
Chains should be adjusted with the weight of the bike square in the swing arm. I’m sure yours is fine. Either upright on a lift without downward pressure or something like the paddock stand that I used. Edit: it is on its own weight. That’s why you lift by the swing arm.

Man, at least the bike ended up with someone who's gonna take care of it. I had been talking to the previous owner trying to snag this bike. Ended up with an Ironhead instead after you bought it. Which was great, until it took 21hrs to get it home when yhe motor had oil starvation that blew the gaskets and the top end got jacked up further when the front piston kissed the valves.

Here is a suggestion instead of crying in your beer with all the problems that bike has. Yard sale it!!!! 2019 I purchased a used Honda VTX 1300 with a Vance and Vines header. 10,500 miles then, about 12,600 now runs super pulls strong thru the powerband. Only changed oil in and a breather. Needs front tire but that's it. You won't get amazing glances from Harley riders, but you will be out there riding while they have theirs in the shop
@UncleBogator5 ай бұрын
That’s such a myth lol. I’ve had more problems from the many Hondas I’ve owned than all my Harleys combined. You’re just repeating things you’ve head but never witnessed.
