I am a retired occupational therapist. I work with children for close to twenty years. After I retired, I stood outside barefoot and extended my arms to the cosmos. I commanded that I be given a new reality. Within two weeks, I was receiving ideas for children’s stories. I now have four completed works. The universe also sent to me a gifted and talented editor. Between her guidance and the creative ideas that I receive, I can honestly say that I am in awe of the results. You have a beautiful energy. Thank you! 🙏

"Writers, you are a story-teller. Begin to tell the story you want to see in your life." SO good. It's taken me a long time to even be able to say "I'm a writer" because I always followed it with negativity.

I don't know if this relates to this video 100%, but this one saying from a puzzle in the Silent Hill 2 video game really stuck with me; "Tis doubt which leadeth thee to purgatory" If you constantly doubt yourself you won't be getting anywhere. Whenever I feel that way the phrase always runs through my mind. Maybe these same words can help someone with their own struggle, I just thought I'd share it here.

Hey! I am new to your channel. I found it via the writing podcast you do with Abbie, and I can honestly say Kate that you have come into my life at the perfect time! I have come into the realisation just yesterday that I am currently going through a spiritual awakening, where a lot of modern western societal norms and technologies feel completely meaningless to me now. All I want to do is connect on a much deeper level to my spirituality and the earth. I can feel my soul shifting and almost ascending to the next level. I am going to start taking up yoga to help me connect and feel more. I am very interested in what wisdom you have in store for me! ☮️🧘‍♀️

Hi there I loved what you said about doing something else when the negativity begins. I’ve been writing my dissertation since Apr 2018 and it’s only this year that I stopped saying I’m a student writing a dissertation to be submitted and dared to call myself an expert writing a book that goes into the guts of legal rules to offer a fresh insight into how informal work is undermining basic social protection for contact farmers in the global south. Wow it sure felt good to say that. Thank you for your service and Namaste

Thank you, I needed this video today. My husband an I are struggling with negative self talk towards ourselves. I sent this to him hoping to help him change his mind set... I am horrible at telling myself how bad I am at writing, that I'll never achieve my dreams or finish my book. Because it's still in the planning stages and my perfectionist says it should be close to done by now it's been x amount of years. So I get down on myself and I've been struggling to get motivated to work on it. This video helped! Thank you I really love your channel! You inspire me ❤

do you have any tips for managing the negative self talk in moments of anxiety where we can't walk away? I specifically struggle with getting anxious when I drive, and I try to calm down but I'm having a hard time finding a way to regain a positive, focused mindset after the negativity starts

Wow! This was wild… thank you! 🙏🏻 I’ve saved this to come to… again, and again, because I know I will! After many years working with textiles, I’ve been making a return to one of my first loves-words, writing. It’s been amazing… it’s also been very scary. And negative self-talk has been in the background… but until this meditation, I didn’t realize just how damaging I’ve been allowing it to become. Thanks for cracking me open to find a new perspective! 😂 Just found your channel today, and what a beautiful wealth of knowledge you’re sharing-thank you! I look forward to checking out your books, as I like fantasy/sci-fi! 💜 -Tracy B.

I recently had to take a medical leave from a job I love and I don’t know if I’ll be able to return because my dissociative disorder became too debilitating to function. I have always judged my worth by performance, whether in work or school or what I can produce creatively, and having my progress slam to a halt like this has destroyed my self worth. I’m trying so hard to implement what you’ve said in this video. Thank you🫶🏻

Hey Kate. We all make mistakes, no matter how intelligent you may be. We might do something silly or unintended. Or maybe we're not good at something. In these instances, others might shun you, shame you, or sometimes others don't like how you are. This can cause the negative self-thoughts and self-thinking you're talking about. We see that we're still growing as humans and sad about the moments that affect us, when we make mistakes, which we all do. The problem is that this negativity, can as you say in this video, manifest in our environment. You can go from being positive, to become sour and negative. Your demeanor changes. If you have failed, you could over time become negative and noticeably upset. The crazy thing is that this will affect the work you've been trying to do. If you're trying to create positive works, this is the exact opposite of what you want. So, like a performer or actor, they have to put on their best performance no matter what is going on in their personal life and so it is with our work. No matter what hardships we face in life, we owe it to our audience and customers to be the star of our own show and have enthusiasm, even when deep inside we might not always feel that way. This is why we might not feel like we're up to the highest standards, but we have to have the braveness to learn and show up. And be brave enough to be happy. Be positive. Inside and outside. Build up that strength, so you can be that great manifestor and performer in life. Make the show you want to make. At least do that and you won't sabotage yourself (as your title states). Some people are purposely more forceful or aggressive depending on what they're doing. Others prefer a quieter approach. Just make sure that what you are projecting is exactly what you intend to project. Don't let other people turn you into a negative person through shaming. Being happy and content is an action and it takes strength from within to be that. Make the effort to show up and put your best foot forward and this is how you can be a good creator, no matter how bad things get inside your head or in your environment. Thanks for your patience towards the world, Kate. Hope you and your loved ones are well.

Hi Kate, I recently started watching your channel. The meditation is helpful. I'm currently working on a fantasy book. I also wrote screenplays. At the moment, I'm allowing my anxiety to get the best of me. I do yoga 🧘🏾‍♀️ morning and evening. Any advice you can give especially on the fantasy book,, would be helpful. The you.

Scientists have been trying forever to find the source of consciousness with no success. Their consistent failure led to the rise of a theory I think is called Pan Psyche, which poses the idea that it's impossible, because consciousness exists in everything. That it's as much a fundamental element of nature as Gravity, Magnetism, and Positive & Negative Nuclear Forces. This study seems to support that idea.
