I am only 15 and I've been dealing with intrusive thoughts for quite some time now. When they first started, I couldn't sleep because of them. The thoughts would be violent and lustful and for the longest time I thought that they were uncontrollable. I'm so glad that I came across this video. I was about to scroll away as well but I'm glad I didn't! I've prayed to the Lord about these negative thoughts asking Him to take them away and fill my mind with peace. The intrusive thoughts have lessened and I thank Him everyday for helping me with this 🙏 God is the peace when our mind is at war. ❤

I as well have suffered from mental torment. I still stuffer however there are times where the thoughts get real dark and I force myself to sing a worship song. It definitely helps and many times I'm able to go to sleep after. I do wish that there was a switch we could flip and it all be gone, but I'm trusting that God is trying to teach us something through this walk, we just need to remember to give Him the glory. God bless you sister, know that you aren't alone.

One thing I try to do is just worship when my thoughts get bad. For me worship is where I'm closest to God. And in those moments every single worship song I know is no longer in my mind so I sing Thank you Jesus over and over sometimes ill sing thank you for my kids/Family/ a person or situation. But when I start to do that I do notice a change in me. Those thoughts get silent and many times I'm able to go to sleep(my thoughts keep me from sleeping many times). I don't do this as often as I should because when I don't I notice I just get worse and I fall for the lies. The how is different for everyone. People have told me to go in a room alone and pray and I'm sorry but that doesn't work for me. God made us uniquely different for a reason. Maybe try some worship music. Just listen to it if you want. I pray that no matter what works for you that you use your how to help others as well. God bless you sister. You are not alone.

​@@abbygale3522 thank you for this advice! Listening to gospel music has helped me overcome temptations and intrusive thoughts. One song that I really love is Fighting For Me by Riley Clemmons. She sings about how God will never stop fighting for us even when we can't fight for ourselves and how He is the peace when our minds are at war which He is! I recommend you to give it a listen! 🤍

Bless you. 🥰 there are so many songs that everytime I listen to them something different stands out. I actually quit listening to secular music a few years ago. It's been a blessing because I hear my kids singing worship songs just randomly instead of singing about vile things. And hearing my kids worship God reminds me that everything will be alright because I see Jesus every time in them.

Someone once told me how old songs from his past life as an unbeliever kept playing in his mind, and he didn't want to think about it anymore, so what he did was he changed the lyrics of the song and reworded it as a way of praising God. Eventually, the song stopped coming back to play in his head. It was a very clever way of defeating the devil and using his own ammunition against him. Perhaps if a person has lustful thoughts, he can direct his thoughts toward ministering to the person by covering them in is mind with clothing, and beginning to preach the gospel to that person. This might help curve a person's lustful thoughts. Also, it would probably be VERY ANNOYING to the devil lol. Meanwhile, if the person desires to have a relationship, he can pray to God who will give him someone where there will be no shame or sin in the confines of marriage. 👍

Agree💯 When we can strip away all the things that are not us first, all the extra things added onto the outside of situations, we can bring it back to the simple essence of something or base elements of the situation and lay them next to one another then you have uncovered the keys to your entanglement. Mindfully organization afterwards taking care not to mix too many elements and people's opinions into a clear simple truth will streamline your energies, endeavors, interpersonal relations and nicely declutter your mind. It is commonplace to believe we have little to no control of our thoughts when we rarely ever command our minds to think accordingly or we never "take out the trash" or "power down and allow updates" while we sleep like we do our cell phones or we do when the waste receptacle is full. Our brains most definitely need the same type of care and daily upkeep. We don't realize how many background pages we have running in our minds 24/7. Sometimes we are shocked to see 30 pages left open on accident in our cell phones but does anyone think to wonder how your mental workspace or design rooms or creative areas are in your mind or possibly your second house, just like your first one is just a mental duplicate you keep in your mind 🤷 total detox is where it's at 🙌🙌
