My dad was a residential builder for sixty years. He always cleaned up on his job sites every day before he quit work. Many of his customers would comment on how clean he kept the job. He took pride in his work and worked hard. The builders I’ve seen over the years have led me to believe you can tell something about the integrity and the quality of the work of the builder by how they keep their job site. If they don’t care enough to keep it clean, it’s kind of like they don’t care about much else either. Brandt appears to follow that theory. He keeps a clean site, works hard, does quality work, and honors his word. Something exceptional to find in today’s world. Same with Greg. You have been wise in your decisions and lucky too to have found two such excellent companies.

Just a thought to help keep the dirt splash down around the foundation, is to put down a layer of landscape felt and cover it in a layer of river rock about 1-2 feet wide around the house. This acts as a "drip edge basin" around the whole house. It can help until you get those gutters up to prevent the splashing. I wish I could post a photo of what we did around our training building to help prevent that dirt splash. We liked it so much we left it and landscaped around it. It also provides a gravel walkway to inspect the building.

Thats what we did when we lived in Southwest Georgia. I liked it too because it left a walkway for trimming. We put Azaleas in the front and oh were they beautiful in the Spring.

That's also a good way to discourage insects from coming into the home. Apparently a lot of critters like soil and mulch, but dislike rocks. So, they say it's better to have rocks around the edge of the home. At least so I read when I was reading about centipedes. I assume a lot of other critters are the same.

@@asmith8973 a tight wire apron under gravel is an excellent was of excluding pests. It also is a great way to cover a trench drain. This gs stay neat and tidy.

I find it interesting how Pinky has staked her domain in the barn. She can sleep during the day and hunt at night just like nature designed for cats. She is so different from Tucker who much prefers the more dog like life, being with people and critters all day long. Cats are such individuals.

You are 100% right in your guess on the hose/water issue in the tank. If you leave the hose in a tank while still hooked up to a hydrant, it does in fact syphon it back out.

Very nice. Good call Brooke on getting that order in so early. We have the "Claw Crew" here at the farm and all the barn cats have a different colour collar since Stormy & Dexter Morgan look alike and Lovely & Maggie May look like twins. Always great to work with a good responsible contractor. Sometimes in the next few years we're hoping to build a custom home so that'll be exciting. Although building a house up here in Canada is a lot more complicated than that barndominium. We have a natural gas whole home Generac generator...It's awesome cause it never runs out of fuel and it comes on 5 seconds after the power goes out. Expensive but well worth the money for your peace of mind and any meat you have in the freezer. Awesome visit again folks, Chad.

So great being able to share in your farm development and the construction of your new homes. The animals all seem so happier on the new farm. I have noticed the greatest change in Peaches, she seems so content at the new farm and seems so much more active since the move. Keep up the good videos and will keep watching. BTW, smart move hiring professionals do the construction work rather than trying to do it yourself, there are so many pitfalls when doing your own construction, especially if you are novices at building construction.

It's wonderful, isn't it, how happy the animals are at the 40? And yes, most especially Peaches, looking so healthy and happy. I had only been watching the channel for a little while when they announced that they were moving on. I could not understand how they could bear to leave the original beautiful farmstead. Now I understand and every time I see Peaches I think of that. Peaches LOVES being able to make her own super comfy bed, too. The Cog Hill Family Farm needed more room and they have the talent and love and good financial sense to make the most of it.

For the hose siphoning problem, they have fittings that can go on the faucet that will prevent that. Might be worth getting on on all the anti-freeze faucets to prevent that in the future and not have to worry about it again. You can see them on Amazon searching for [faucet anti siphon valve]

The Contractor you have hired is amazing. Today you got windows, doors and siding, so happy for y'all. The window guy marking the windows for you, now that is worth time and money right there. He saved you and the guys a headache. Props to the people you have hired to build your home and make a pond for your family. Mr. Greg, mercy he is the man and Brent and his guys such hard workers and clean .. you have no idea how wonderful it is to see that. My contractor ripped us off and stole from us plus, left without finishing the job. Your Barndominium is moving along fast. Jason, put that bathtub in and a curtain up and let those ladies have a nice hot bath LOL. (Well once the other walls are up)

And Jason as I have said before the songs that you pick for the end of the Video's I just love what you choose. And I got to see My Moo Man Puppy. I LOVE how clean and neat everything is kept. I have noticed how dirty some of the you tubers keep their builds. Wow, if they expect to make a living off of their post then why would they not keep it clean and neat before inviting us in. Animals can be naturally messy. But, there is no excuse not to clean up a build site. Kudos to you, your builder and the building crew! Thank you for cleaning up for your “guests” it shows so much respect. I am so excited to see how the building is going forward. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate & the progress on your house can take place. As always, I love seeing the animals. I am curious to see your shelter being built. I watched a WeatherChannel program where a huge tornado was coming towards a neighborhood & some people at the last minute ran to their neighbors who had just had a safe shelter built inside their home. They were not aware there was a tornado coming & the family & neighbors plus dogs got into the safe, but the tornado hit before they could latch the door. All of the men pushed against the door to keep it shut & they filmed while they were inside. You could hear the wind & destruction of the house. When they came out, only the safe shelter was standing & every house was gone. When the couple who had run to the neighbors rebuilt their house, the first thing was a safe shelter.
