The book is called Sisterhood of Dune. I read the first book when I was 16-17. I have the Litany against fear tattooed on my back. I love this universe, best regards from Sweden.

17:19 Desmond: based on the information so far, he is probably a shape-shifting Face Dancer of the Bene Tleilax. The Bene Tleilax are like the opposite extreme of the Bene Gesserit. They are a patriarchal society that uses artificial genetic engineering. They have NOTHING but contempt for women. They produce twisted mentats, face dancers, and gholas (a type of clone that is grown from dead cells instead of living ones). Of all the powerful groups in the universe, the Bene Gesserit are hated the most by the Tleilaxu. The biggest clue is Valya's failure to control Desmond through Voice. The Voice requires understanding the target's native language, society, mannerisms, etc. Jessica was able to control the Harkonnens so well because the Bene Gesserit had been studying the Harkonnens for 10,000 years. But if Desmond is a face dancer, Valya is at a disadvantage. She's attuning her Voice to a mirage. Who Desmond is, and where he comes from is NOT what Valya sees. It doesn't help that the Voice is still primitive and unrefined. It also doesn't help that Valya is a flawed Reverend Mother. She relies too heavily on manipulation and control. Her powers of observation, self-awareness, and open-mindedness are weakened by this. Look how she handled the emperor's Reverend Mother. She dismissed her without considering she was right. I admit I'm still puzzled by the burning.

Hopefully we get some answers on the burning

Great improvment over the first episode. I love how they explore the genetic/other memory more because it is such a cool, weird and creepy part of Dune. We didnt go into it in detail in dune part 1 or 2 as much but it is what both Paul and Jessica have but the difference is that Paul can see the future when the sisters can only look in the past of their female ancestors. And Desmond Hart seems to be able to see glimpses of the future as well.

I liked this episode so much more than last week's. Especially Lila. I hope she wakes up & starts a lot of discord with Tula & Valya.

Me too! That would be insane. It definitely feels like this shows going to get juicy

Since this is so much earlier than the original Dune, I believe we are seeing the first versions of what spice can do to a person, and it seems Desmond Hart is the first version of a Mentat

2:11 Don't trust that recording. The emperor found it wrapped up in a tan cloth laying conspicuously on a table. I suspect Desmond left it there on purpose. It probably wasn't just to convince the emperor. It was probably meant to influence the empress too. She refers to the worm by the religious name the Fremen use for the sandworms. Also, she has a veil from the Zensunni wanderers of Harmonthep, who were the ancestors of the Fremen.
