I wasn't sure about the timer running out at first either, but after looking at some reactions an interpretation did stick out a little. At the end of episode 2 Percy was fully willing to let the gods destroy each other and the world to end, he only agreed to the quest because he found out he could save his mother in the process. Now he is choosing to continue it himself.

This was the first episode that i was actually disappointed in and the changes in my personal opinion actually made me mad as opposed to the other episodes

I definitely want to reread the books all over again because I've been enjoying the show. Certain changes, literally the ones you mentioned, I also struggle with a bit. But other changes I really enjoy? So I'll wait and see how they handle it. I want more obviously shitty behaviour from the gods though for sure. Spoiler alert for Trials of Apollo . . . Zeus didn't seem concerned when his son died, only seemed irritated that Hera was upset about it and acted defensive about it. I need to see that type of parenting. Poseidon was above and beyond the rest because he did eventually care more about Percy than the others did. Him being an involved parent in comparison to his book counterpart definitely comes across as odd.

I know what you mean. I'm really enjoying the series for the most part, but Poseidon's portrayal in episodes 4 and 6 are some of my biggest criticisms (the last two episodes did good with him though). And I agree that some of the changes were good.

@@TheDemigodLover Honestly, even with my critiques I've just had so much fun with it. I hope it goes on for the full five books (hopefully with slightly longer seasons so they can have more wiggle room), but the cast is so well done and the kid actors are so better off working on a project like this that's made for kids. I had too much fun with the season to really be salty about anything, even if younger me would be irritated at any variation. 💛😊
