Dade County public schools allow you to go to any public school if I recall. Central and Northwestern get the cream of the crop. Same district. Throw in Carol City. Norland. It's a tough district that changes . STA. Has money to burn. Like Catholic leagues in all states most of these kids are going to college. Football or not. Chicago's Catholic schools have a entrance exam plus tuition. They can have a 30 mile radius. Donavan McNabb played for My. Carmel also played BBall with Antoine Walker. Now 4 5 years later saw a kid play football who was 15 16 miles from all the CCL Schools. Was option Qb who was amazing and scarey. Also had a stud on defense. 2 years before. Thornton H.S. played in State Championship vs Farragut Academy from Chicago. They had Kevin Garnett. A 6 3 Jordan Ronnie Fields. A freshman Micheal Wright who ended up play for ASU. Both were 28-1 Thornton star was Tai Streets who played at Michigan. They had a 6'9 sophomore that was a 1rst rd. NBA pick. A 63 beast Napoleon Kaughman who played at Northwestern and 1st rd pick of a Raiders at Lb. Then Antwann Randle El was freshman. So Thornton had 2 first and 2nd round NFL guys q 1st rd. NBA guy. Streets left and next 3 years Thornton was 29-1 30-2 28- 1 or 2. Lost to Peoria Central once in semi os state twice in final. And finals of tournament. Now I can't recall that talent from a school of a 25k town that is lower middle class. 1995 or 96 Illinois Hs Baketball. Thornton vs Farragut. Very sloppy but Streets was impressive.

@Jon O Real mindset by recruiting the best players in Broward lol Of course public schools in Dade have beat St Thomas and American heritage the best private schools in Broward both recruit players. FYI st. Thomas starting quarterback is from Miami he use to play for Miami Edison. Also Miami Central a public won the state championship and also won the mythical national championship title. Two public schools from Dade have won the mythical national championship title Miami Northwestern and Miami central none from Broward lol Miami dade doesn't have to recruit if Miami did they would be unbeatable.

Also broward private schools recruit and offer scholarships to play for them. Two public schools in Miami have won the mythical national championship title. Miami Northwestern and Miami central none from Broward lol You talking about other states and basketball wtf. I'm talking about Miami Dade and Broward in South Florida football. The city of MIAMI has the most NFL players.

@@twinbee13monsterhunter you misinterpreted what I said you complained sta recruits and came back and told you powerhouse dade public school don’t care they’d play IMG STA Chaminade don’t matter and still win. I was praising schools like central northwestern Edison booker t cuz they public and would still beat anybody. So any other Miami school who plays ST Thomas and loses and uses recruiting as an excuse don’t have that dade football mindset. And trust me I know how STA operates I went there before the Nike uniforms and commercials and when George smith was the coach. Started out at Miami Jackson back then we had 4-5 players that were recruited to st Thomas the year I came in including me and it ain’t just recruiting winning those games it’s called discipline and execution. Funny how NW went to TX and beat Southlake Carrol who recruits when half the NW team never even been on a plane before let alone travel cross country to beat the best team at the time in TX. Miami dade hs football or even just FL HSFB is built different I even put them over TX by far. So when a FL HSFB team complains about how they competitor is so good based on they’re recruitment well yeah your a 🐱 in FLHSFB standards

Homestead hold St. Thomas to 7pts for the half ... where your offense homestead??? Coordinator has be creative I've seen that motion left/ right with the wr about 20 times in the first half in the same formation I mean who you fooling. The bottom line is to beat a team like St. Thomas you have to get creative, it has nothing to do with sizes or talent. Give these coaches something they never seen before and watch the end result ... oh, by the way homestead teach your qb how to read defense #thankyou

Saw a 2a Madison County team come to Daytona to play Mainland who was 5 6 a in late 2000s. Mainland ran into Miami Central 4 or 5 times in Qtr finals and never got blown out. Lost by 7 to 10. Once by 13 or 14. Then when they moved down to 5a one year they play Lakeland who had pouncey brothers and 5 others play on Gators teams. They had shut down their back Chris Rainey down and led 19 13 at start of 4th. Then Lankeland just ground out a 75 80 yrd drive went up 20- 19. Mainland came back and scored missed 2pt try led 25- 20. Rainey had around 130 140 on 2 drives scored with about minute left to win. That was one of years they won National Title. The coach who came in was Moronto who was a Detroit and Cleveland coach for years in the Catholic leagues. He came in and started playing bigger and established programs for 2 games that not district or rival games. Madison is 350 kids .only had 31 32 kids. 6 7 at least went both ways. Had 7 sr. 7.jrs. 6 so. 2 freshman playing. They just ran that double wing grind it out off. That busted off a 12 15 yard run ever 10 plays and had 16 17 play drives. Lost to one of top 10 to 15 teams in State 21- 18. Only the snap from center on xpts kept them from winning. Then 2010 or so Daytona hosted a 4 game multi state slate. One game had Cocoa take on Dallas Skyline. Skyline had 12 or so guys go D1 years before. So even in a rebuilding year they were still a bigger team than Cocoa. Skyline lines avg. 250 off. 230 Def. Cocoa biggest off tackle was 210. Def. 195. Lbs were 59 160 165. Cocoa won 6-0 . Texas is hot but the humidity killed these kids. Plus Daytona being the low class town it is had no ice or water for schools on visiting side. Then last game was Olive Branch Miss. A school in biggest class of their state and bucks. The team that was from Georgia was 2a school who thought they were playing a team their size of enrollment. They backed out the weekend before but Madison County showed up with their 32 kids a played them for 3 quarters. Was down 17 - 13 fumbled inside 10. Then olive scored on a 70 yd run. That was it lost by 14 to a school that has 2800 kids. Not bad.

@@twinbee13monsterhunter I don’t see how recruiting contributes to your qb fumbling every other snap. That’s bad coaching and lack of discipline and execution in practice. Notice Booker T, Central, and NW don’t complain after taking an L to IMG they recruit way worse than any school in the country but funny how central still pulled it off. Homestead could never pull off that feat with a weak a$$ mindset like that. That’s why y’all would never be Central

@@jono4034 i cant recall if it was same year. Mainland had themeyey under control. Like i think i posted. 4th quarter just gave rainey the balll. Kid did play 2 or 3 yrs with Steelers? He was a randell el guy. With right team should have bben a solid player.
