People like Ingrid are the ones we need to remember when we think of the YT beauty community, not the toxic waste into which the current beauty community has morphed. If you ever read this, thank you for all your years on YT, Ingrid. You will be remembered for your kindness, love, and genuine spirit. You gave people a truly joyous space to escape when the real world got too much. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. If you ever wish to pop by YT at any point in time in the future, know that some of us will truly be happy to see you (but no pressure)! xo

I don't think it's about 'growing up', I think it's about moving away from a platform that has turned toxic. Back in the day KZbin was mostly not toxic, the hate comments were not as frequent or outlandish, and people felt a community on YT. I am not saying it was a utopia, but it was much better than it is now.
its so refreshing to see an influencer leave the platform without scandals, on their own terms, because it was time. ♡

Got get them Ingrid! You got me through a rape, PTSD, my first job, meeting my husband, doing my makeup for my wedding, choosing a career, growing as a professional, growing as a step-mom, coming out to my husband and my stepkids and my parents and my friends. Here I am about to turn 31. I turned to you because I needed advice on how to dress for my first job and how to put on makeup on my mixed race Latin skin. You were the only video maker I found who had skin color that almost resembled mine. You got me through so much. You gave so much. Even with all the pain you were in. I speak about periods with confidence; I try to normalize periods in my home because of YOU! You are a big part of who I am and we’ve never even met. I will cheer you on from afar just as you cheered me on. Thank you immensely from the bottom of my heart. You taught me how to try to love myself again while the PTSD kept telling me that I should just give up and die. My gratitude is immeasurable. You’re part of the reason why I’m still here, why I’m on vacation today typing this from my own cell, on a King bed, snuggling my pup hearing my stepson play fortnite down the hallway. You saved me. I was struggling with severe anxiety and depression and was afraid to leave the house when I found your videos. I watched your Revlon Lip Butter review and decided I wanted to go out and purchase one. You gave me a reason to leave the house and I will forever be grateful for that, because you helped me gain the confidence to step out into the world again. I unsubscribed a few years ago when I felt like I had “grown out” of your content, but happily resubscribed when you starting showing your true, authentic self and posting more than beauty videos and hauls. Your growth has been the most authentic I’ve seen on KZbin and I’m so glad to have witnessed it. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, for this community, and most importantly, for yourself.

Most people here say they've grown up with you. I guess I've grown "old" with you. I'm a 60 year old person that has followed you for years. I worked in a male dominated field and being an introverted person I didn't go out a lot on my days off. I had boyfriends but I alway felt like I was disappointing to them. Too plain. Too practical. I liked clothes but i didn't have confidence in styling them. I liked makeup but, as ridiculous as it sounds, I had no idea how to use it. So, I was a 50 year -old person watching your videos because I like you and what you did here. I learned things and enjoyed myself. Thank you and may this next chapter be a beautiful one for you.

We will miss you but thank you so much for the memories and the iconic, simplistic, era. EDIT: yes I know theres still tons of unproblematic beauty gurus I just wanted to reference back to the main youtubers of the era & the nostalgia, now everyone we have watched has grown in their own ways and i’m so proud of them all, but in my opinion nothing current day will top 2010-2013 beauty youtube! Thanks for the likes, im surprised and happy I was able to give some of y’all a nostalgic feel too :)

It's only now hitting me that because KZbin and making a living on it is so relatively new, we don't know what the average longevity of a "KZbinr" career is. We might be seeing many of the original KZbinrs start to leave and go in different directions because they've outgrown this career, maybe some of them will want to start a family and choose a more convenient career path. It's fascinating to me to think about this, about all of us discovering the longevity of this kind of career together. When I was about your age, I had just had my second child in a year and a half and feeling very unlike myself, I googled how to put on eye makeup thinking that it would help me to begin to recognize myself again. That’s when I found your channel and this community that I didn’t know existed. Although I’m certain that a 30 something mom wasn’t your target demographic, I subscribed and followed so many of your tutorials and recommendations. It wasn’t until I left an emotionally abusive marriage that I truly recognized the person in the mirror again, but the makeup and nail polish helped. 😊 Thank you for being you and sharing it with all of us for so long. May you be blessed in all that is to come.

I remember finding Missglamorazzi a decade ago when I was a teenager getting into makeup. You looked like me in a world where I was neither Asian nor Caucasian and it was a breath of fresh air. I'm part Filipino and part white. I saw myself in you and I've stayed along for your entire journey. You've been a big sister to me to look to as I've and grown from a teenager to a young woman and I wish you all the best on whatever is next ✨ ❤

I haven’t watched you in years, and this popped up on my feed and watched it and cried with you. I’ve been with you since way early on in your blue bedroom. I remember you’re the one who got me hooked on Rebecca minkoff bags, I still have my first one I ever bought years and years ago after your video I needed to match you and got the same chartreuse mini mac and when I see it I think of you which was crazy to think as I had stopped watching you but I’ll never part with it. It brought a lot of happiness to me as did your videos. End of a chapter for sure, wishing you all the best. Xxx

this low key hits my heart because you wouldn’t know but i was with my dad and met you and hannah outside a pharmacy in france... and had just finished sobbing after a depressive episode and went to the pharmacy to get meds for a killer headache as a result of the breakdown. obviously i never told you that part but my entire outlook on life turned around that day. i saw nothing good for the future even though i was on a wonderful vacation, and in this dark place you and hannah literally appeared as a shining light in a random street at a french pharmacy of all places. i believe for us to meet at that time was meant to happen because i was in need of a boost and there you were. the chances of me being from canada and you being in the states, and us randomly meeting across the world just when i needed some kind of sign... just.. really, truly, you mean so much to me and i really wish you the best. so much love, thank you.

Ingrid, we literally have the same story. I’m half Honduran (mom), half white (dad). My grandma moved in with us when I was a baby. I always struggled with the not white enough/not Latin enough. I’m gay. My dad passed when I was 7 from a stroke in the middle of dinner and I was with him while my mom called 911 and he passed away. I was numb after that. I went from being a happy kid to depressed, life pulled out from underneath me. Lots of trauma thrown in shortly after for years. I tried to be as invisible as possible for years after that and still see aspects of it today, 20+ years later. It’s insane how that stuff stays with you and molds you into who you are. I totally get that. I send you peace and so much healing girl, it’s a day to day path to you loving you. Hugs. Go be happy.

I just wanted to add my voice to the many comments of people who say they grew up with you. I've mostly been a passive spectator during these years on the internet but as time passed I realized how attached I feel with the people I've been following and how you all helped me grew up. I've always thought of you as my friends, being a depressive young adult for many years who relied on youtube and the internet for comfort, and I love feeling that I've been part of your achievements and accomplishments. Having said that: Thank you for sharing your friendship with us Ingrid. I'm very proud of you and I think you are a beautiful human being. I'll be rooting for you and your success in this new chapter of your life.

What a selfless, respectable, well spoken woman. She’s one of the most real youtubers on here. It’s a shame she’s going but I understand why. We’re flooded with drama queens on here. She’s making room for someone who needs it. Not sticking around for her own greed. And I appreciate that. All the best 💕

SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Mose (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He is the Atoning Offering for mankind for the remission of sin ( 1 John 2:1-2). He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). If you believe the Messiah died on the cross, & Resurrected three days later (presenting Himself as First Fruits to the Father), please ask Him to be your Savior. He is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life.

This one hit me hard. I had a very similar life - my mom had breast cancer and my dad had heart disease. I saw my parents go in ambulances more times than I can say in high school and the first year of university. I'm so glad that your mom is still with you. I'm so glad you shared this with us. I'm sending love and gratitude.

Goodbye, old friend! I like many others, had no friends so I grew up watching you and other og youtubers after school, when I was sad, preparing for prom or long summers spent at my house alone. You are one of many who shaped my life, pushed me to follow my dreams, and made me feel okay for being different. Ingrid, thank you for being a friend.

I find its ironic how she started youtube because she felt like she belonged to a community and felt love and support. Now I feel I wouldnt want to become a ytuber for the opposite reasons. This platform has really shifted toward cancel culture and hate comments. Its the perfect time to leave and start something fresh.

I mean not tolerating racism, micro agressions, misogyny, and sexual abuse is kind of the right thing for us to do. I know it’s not convenient but we can’t tolerate that stuff anymore
@torey43224 жыл бұрын
Amen
@skinblossom59584 жыл бұрын
@@nickc6380 it's not about tolerating those thing. It's just that the Cancel culturehas broaden the definition of what those terms mean to the point that NO ONE can for example criticise a black creator w/o being called racist or say kids shouldn't transition w/o being called transphobe, digging 10, 15 or 20yo tweet to cancel someone. This is insane, Cancel culture is poison and has ruined youtube. People should be allowed controversial or adverse opinion w/o being called names. As long as diversity of opinion is not tolerated cancel culture won't go away

Been watching since I was 9 years old, and I’m now 19 (wow). I remember this was missglamorazzi and when you were thegridmonster. When you lived at your mom’s and filmed from your bedroom. When you adopted Nugget. Seeing you and FleurdeForce collab. And you obsessed over pandas and made donuts with a donut maker. You’ve grown so much and have inspired me to want to emanate you as a sophisticated, warm, and thoughtful human being. Gonna miss you being present on KZbin but I am glad that you’ve spread such an inspiring and enlightening experience through this channel. ❤️

"Most things aren't meant to last forever." - This statement holds so much truth, for so many things in our lives. I think a lot of human distress comes from believing that everything that comes into our lives is always supposed to be there, whether that be people, relationships, careers, pets, etc. - when in fact they're not. Ingrid, you have helped me to realize, love, cherish and accept this and so many other wonderful realities in my life. Words can hardly describe the wonderful impact you have made in our world, and there is not a beauty dilemma that I wouldn't trust with your judgement, haha. Wishing you all the best in your new chapter, xoxo Thanks Ingrid 💕
