So he has all that from Clara 😢
@granddaddyotaku6364 жыл бұрын
the person or creature in the bed could have been a kid just trying to scare Rupert/little Danny Pink. But the irony is that Fear can be irrational and lead us to somewhat believe in ghosts and things like that. For the Doctor and Clara, they intuitively know that sometimes it COULD BE something. For a little kid like Rupert/Danny, their fear leads them to feel validated when anything out of the ordinary happens. So when Doctor, Clara, and Little Danny are staring away it’s because they all believe it’s possible there’s a monster. The Doctor because he’s seen monsters and know they exist. Clara has seen proof that monsters and supernatural things can exist. And Little Danny is a little kid who is afraid of the dark and therefore believes in Monsters. Beliefs are very strong when we are young, and especially when we’ve seen proof of it in different ways. So when the Doctor is thinking there’s a monster under the bed, he honestly believes it because he’s always been afraid of the dark and he wants to have a logical reason for it. Also sometimes noises and odd sounds or shadows can make us feel valid in our fears. Especially when we are alone. Orson, the time traveler, was alone for a while and stranded. I’m sure he was going a little crazy from the loneliness and silence and darkness.. so him thinking there’s something out there is a result of his heightened anxiety and anguish in being stranded and alone. This story is really all about how the mind plays tricks on us and makes us believe in terrifying things even when reasonably we can’t truly know for sure. Clara grabbed The Doctors foot, and that was how he started believing in a monster under his bed. But he was crying before that. Implying that he was already a scared child and that further validated the fear of the dark and the idea that monsters live under his bed... This was basically a Psychological mindf**k lol 😂

@Temujin12064 жыл бұрын
This Clara isn't one of the fragment Claras, she's the real one. Like everyone else she will die eventually but not necessarily on the show. In "Name of the Doctor" real Clara stepped into the Doctor's timestream and was broken into a bunch of fragment Claras who lived all over the universe and then die saving the Doctor. However the Doctor then went in and got her out (when he sees John Hurt) so as of "Day of the Doctor" the Clara we see is the original, real one who went into the timestream, came out and can live/die as any other human/companion.
@mr.fandango62234 жыл бұрын
This is what I always thought but isn't it possible that she is in fact a fragment Clara, because how could the original Clara be intact after being fragmented all over the Doctor's time stream?

I think Listen is a stone cold masterpiece and definitely benefits on rewatching - once you know it's about the power of fear, and an analysis of the characters, rather than about 'if there is REALLY anything under the bed' (which too many people focus on) it coalesces into one of Moffat's strongest dips into the motivation of the Doctor, something Series 8 examines all the way through from the doubt of Deep Breath, the comparison wit the Daleks in episode 2, and the comparison with Robin Hood in episode 3 to the end. Great stuff.

Ok I’m gonna say it. The doctor is the same concept as Santa let me explain why. On Christmas we are all Santa, we show up in multiple different places giving gifts and spreading happiness where we go. This concept is carried into the doctor, for most of humanity every day we are all a little bit the doctor we can have our bad points, out fear and anger and sadness but also our good points because those three things only make us kind. We go about our days being kind and heroic to multiple people and pick up companions as we go who go on to become close friends and sometimes lovers. We lose friends along the way in so many different ways and we do all that while dealing with our own issues and past and why are we kind why do we help? For nothing but the sake of being kind.
