Yeah but if you really listen to him he never actually wanted to kill Thorn. He was just upset that Witch, one of the few princesses he's genuinely in love with, stabbed her. Even though he knew she would, you can tell it just genuinely hurt him that she actually went for it. He's just too proud to admit that, and it makes sense, how jovial he was when he switched sides - it was a small hint of relief. Besides we were in the body that time and we were able to reign him in. And whenever we're there, to him our interests always take precedent. Look how far he went for us in Wraith.

I like how this ending lets you and the princess see eachother's perspective for a bit with the princess meeting the narrator and voices and you seeing how when you die the princess instantly gets set back it is really interesting with how the game works🤔

I always thought it was a bit strange that Spectre is one of the more kind and forgiving Princesses, but I think it has to do with her being a lot like Voice of the Cold. A body is just a body, and she didn't actually die when the body died, so is it really that big of a deal that we stabbed her? No harm done, in the end, so it's best to just forget about that whole stabbing business and move on.

Spectre just wants to leave and being vengeful doesn't help her if Quiet is ready to cooperate. She died quickly, before forming a connection with Quiet and from the way he has killed her - she knows it wasn't personal. It's also interesting to compare it with the Witch, who was actively betrayed and actually has a good reason to resent LQ.

Besides, if you don’t apologize for killing her before letting her possess you, while also having told her about what happened to you after she died, she assumes you’re only letting her possess you because you don’t see any other choice, and she is much more curt and impatient and even cruel towards the Narrator and voices and you during the possession. So it’s not like she can’t harbor any angry feelings.

We finally get to see how things play out from the Princess' pov, she forgives us, theres a happy ending, AND we get to finally see what we look like. You were drawing a lot of comparisons between the spectre and the wraith, and you are right! Certain choices in the spectre route can ALSO take you to the wraith chapter 3 in addition to the route you took in the nightmare! Theres a few instances of this in the game, multiple chapter 2s can lead to the same chapter 3 with different context and voices. And even the voices you get can impact what happens in the chapter. For example for the eye of the needle chapter 3 you got, you got the hunted and the stubborn voices, which is the only combo that allows you to win the confrontation with the princess! I love this game theres so many variations of everything Edit: Oops looks like you already knew about the alternate voices haha, hope you enjoy the rest of the update!

And by doing that, she's also giving you her very, _very_ last bit of trust, hope and everything that makes living worth it. And the Opportunist tries to convince us to stab her in the back once more... Then when he loses the vote, he immediately switches sides. Though he did really seem to enjoy the kiss scene. He's such a silly goofy piece of shit lol

This is my first time seeing the Princess and the Dragon as it is indeed a new chapter I believe this is the best look at what the player looks like, and as the princess says "you've always looked like this" confirms it, you really look like a monster And also maybe makes canon some other things like the title cards and the fact that when you are talking with your voices you are just staring and in silence 😅, pretty cool

The artist, Abby Howard, says on Tumblr that any inconsistencies in design are just mistakes (like some details of his legs in some shots), and in the new Reddit AMA she says that she purposefully didn't show much of the protagonist at this point and at the mirror to conceal specific details but this is what he looks like.

I saw someone logic through it and I think they're right: The Cold makes it pretty clear he doesn't want to slay the Princess in this chapter (he says "they" want to slay you, he hates the Narrator, he obviously doesn't like the Opportunist at all, he abstained, just in general he doesn't like doing the same thing over and over again), but he doesn't vote against it because that would make it a tied vote. The only thing worse than doing the same thing again to the Cold is doing NOTHING. So he abstains so *something* will happen but, despite the outcome being the same either way, won't vote alongside the Opportunist and the Narrator because screw that and screw them.

The Opportunist always sides with the strongest party, and getting control of the Player's body is too good to pass up. So he voted for slaying. The Narrator obviously wants the bird to slay the Princess, and doesn't care which voice does the deed. The Cold is complicated, because he has multiple conflicting motivations. On one hand, he has zero problems killing the Princess or doing macabre things just to see what happens. On the other hand, it was shown in the Spectre's chapter that he doesn't like the Narrator. On the other other hand, he already died twice and he knows that death at this point is not much of an issue.

this felt very in character with the opportunist. he's very two faced and works for his self interest for good or bad. its only not noticeable when his self interest is in helping you since you are also him. Once your were separated, he filled the void sensing a opportunity to be the one in the seat but it would have been easy for the narrator to promise him anything. He's also the same one to tempt you to betray the witch because he'd rather strike first then be betrayed first which can lead you to not try to open up to the princess and then getting hurt. he's not evil, none of the voices are but someone who always focuses on themselves will always crave more till the point of self destruction and guard what he has jealously. he wants more of everything and is afraid of being stolen from. this ending felt so sad because they are suppose to be together as one being but were torn apart by the narrators desire to end death.

I wouldn't call him jealous, just mad with power. If anything Smitten is the jealous one. Plus when you're in your body, he actually has your best interests at heart, even if he wants to win, because all he can do is guide. Also another reason he suggested you betray Witch could be that he saw her as an equal and immediately fell in love with her. He didn't want you to get hurt because he didn't want to get hurt either. Consequently during Thorn he's stuck between his own feelings of hurt, betrayal and also love, and his own nature which he doesn't want to go against, which is why he was able to fold so easily. Plus he ends up getting everything he wanted with Wraith and he gives that to us too. Also yeah, this ending is very similar to Wild if you make a certain decision.

Hey Oppy's nothing like the narrator. He's only like this because we're not there so he's at the top and he's both mad with power and really bad at being in power. Plus we're able to reign him when we're in our body and even if he's trying to work his way up, he does have our best interests at heart. He even comes through for us during Wraith and, because of his feelings for Witch, he's conflicted during Thorn. Also you forgot about the narrator during Happily Ever After - he's the best.

If you intend to find other chapter 2 princesses, there are still a few you can find. For instance, you could try to take the blade to the basement, then free the princess and let her kill you when the narrator takes control. Kinda the same thing as the Damsel, only you take the blade with you at the beginning. Hope this helps!
