This ep wasn't animated by Toei but by a new studio called E&H Production, the new studio founded by Sung-Hoo Park (aka the director of JJK S1 & 0). Sung-Hoo Park was also the Director, script writer, series compositor, storyboarder, animation director & key animator for this ep.

A Oneshot is basically a tryout version of a Manga, Mangakas send these to publishers and studios to make them get interested in. These Oneshots are usually only one chapter, because they would get featured in a weekly serialized Manga Magazine (Weekly Shounen Jump, this is where One Piece, Naruto, Bleach etc. started). It wouldn't make sense to make more than one chapter if you didn't know that it's not going to be successful or publishers aren't going to feature the second one (it's really vile here, A LOT of great ideas, which may be lacking a bit, but could be developed later on, are getting trashed weekly, just because they don't reach the numbers). Oda had his two ideas "Monster" and "Romance Dawn", became successful with Romance Dawn, which emerged into One Piece and then thought of a way to connect both years later probably. I doubt these two stories had anything to do with each other at the start when he was making them. If you want to understand the process of Manga creation you should watch Bakuman, it's a really good anime about the MC making an Anime/Manga in detail with all the behind the scenes stuff, corpo talks, reaching or not reaching the numbers you need to get featured in the next week etc. Gives you a LOT more respect for these dudes who put their heart and soul into their drawings. Btw pls correct me if I wrote anything wrong in here.

If you would do a one piece marathon, pleeeaaaase don’t start with remakes or live actions or one pAce, stay true to the original. I never saw any reaction channel complain about the beginning of the anime, maybe later the pacing is bad, but to experience the old art style is one of the iconic parts in seeing the animes growth and one pace maybe makes sense laaaater but not in the beginning. I saw some reaction channel starting with one pace and change it to the original, because they cut out a lot of beautiful moments for no reason! It just wouldn't really feel like One Piece if its not the original :(

The ending was such a hype moment. If you liked this fight, you'll love zoros fights and just the fights of all the straw hats. But please if you start with one piece at one point, watch the original, not one pace or the LA or wait for a remake because you shoudn't just react to it because of the new animation or because the LA has more hype at the moment.
