Hi sir, I closely follow your analysis, in fact for quite some time now. I feel the ADX is not serving any real purpose. Even if you use only MACD, I feel it's sufficient. Mathematically, both are derivative functions of price. ADX is not giving any additional advantage or confirmation. It makes the chart messy. Can you please comment on this?

ADX provides great insights that MACD cannot. These indicators are computed differently. You should go back through old lessons on ADX.

18 and 20 are interchangeable. But, I like the 40 because it helps in multiple timeframe signals. In addition, it is the 200 on the next lower timeframe. 200 days = 40 weeks.

5 minutes in and still no rule. If you're going to talk about a rule shouldn't you first clearly state the rule? Don't short when the market makes a new higher high and adx is above 25? Wait to short when adx is below 25? Wait for an adx divergence below 25 to short? Go long when adx falls below 25? What is the one rule??!

I thought it was pretty clear. Apologize if it did not come across that way to you. Don't fight strong ADX reading even if MACD is showing divergence. There are other things to learn off this video but that was the main point.
