@@BrisbaneChannel I have an idea for the 2032 games. We could use the Brisbane river for the opening ceromony. Like Paris did. But less controversal of course. People can viw from stands at South Bank as well as the riverside Expressway and Victoria Bridge, the Queens Wharf Bridge and the Queens wharf viewing deck. And also around the corner at howard street wharves and storey bridge. Like Riverfire but as the opening ceromony for the olympics. We can spread spectators along the river so could be easier too

Everyone should be asking not what Brisbane (cbd) lacks, but what greater Brisbane lacks (infrastructure). As most people who commute there, are normally stuck in traffic or on a bus or train for ages. It's those who keep the city running. Brisbane was never meant to be a 15 minute city.

From having attended a few council meetings, it seems the city is trying to reduce people driving by investing in public transit infrastructure like more CityCat stops, train stations, cross river rail, Brisbane Metro, etc. Why not just drive to your closest rail or bus station and take public transit into the city?

A big bin chicken is good but I have an idea what Brisbane is missing, it’s a train city loop! This will allow both residents and visitors to easily and confidently travel around Brisbane. At the moment we have one big CBD area but I’ll be good to expand it to the surrounding areas. It seems that if I want to go to south bank for example I feel there is no easy way to get around using public transport so I end up staying the whole day there. I’ll be good to spend the morning in Southbank then train it to CBD for brunch and then to new farm in the afternoon using 1 train loop.

A proper Metro. That is what we really lack. And no the BRT we are misnaming as a Metro is not it. At $400m per km, which is what I think the Sydney metro cost, we should just start doing that. Yes it is expensive. Very expensive. But we need to remember that these are assets that last for centuries. So going into debt for an asset that will be productive for 100 plus years is good. I don’t think new underground roads are any cheaper. And let’s be honest those roads will be clogged up within 10 years or so of opening and won’t last as long as Metro 🚇 infrastructure does. We’re a 2 car family but even we have to admit that road congestion is strangling the city. And the metro doesn’t have to be in my part of the city. I’d like it to be of course but wherever is the best location is fine. Any corridor we put it in will reduce the number of cars on the roads. So even car drivers will benefit.

We desperetly need an iconic building, perhaps a grand observation tower..think what Paris would be without the Eifel tower and Toronto without the CN tower or even Sydney without the opera house, that sort of thing. Kind of odd about Brisbane or at least whole Australia when there an event its just the whole craft scenario theater thing. Not really i would ever call that festivals other then sort of boring events designs lol. How come tourist don't even stay longer in Brisbane but they do in the other states cities ? a tourist would prob last 2 or 3 days and then they want to leave. Maybe its why there's not much to do. Other then looking at houses by houses suburbs by suburbs which is all to me all the same thing. Not everyone likes the beach and not everyone likes boring museums. The museum in Brisbane is rather boring been to it and it was small and when i came back 4 years later it was still the same old boring things. Empty spaces in between showing a blade from the ancient originals and so on... Brisbane city is beautiful but it does not have that tourism feel to it. and eventually you would want to move out to another state city there. i feel that eventually once u lived too long the whole vibes becomes slightly sleepy at times. plus ridiculous rules as well and far too sensitive Australians. Ah they have children at a park don't film.. aaah don't smoke passing this area its a hazard to pedestrians and so on. Far too sensitive and stupid rules. Brisbane looks big when you stand there at the start of the video where the sign says Brisbane. But really the city looks super tiny when your in it. It just looks wide from there because the side river but that still doesn't mean its a very big city. Its still small at least its not as bad as tiny as Adelaide city still 2024 been that small. Canberra city looks nothing like a city other then a small town. Boring

@@HyperHorsea lot of your points are redundant. If you look at what is being built currently they all fall into the categories you’ve listed so while it may not be to your standard today even in a couple of months we have the new casino with plenty of new retail coming, cross river rail and metro system coming shortly. There are plans for Uptown as well. Brisbane is an emerging city while Sydney is established. In terms of diversity there are many immigrants choosing Brisbane. So your only real point is that it’s not a harbour city but it never will be so if that’s what you prefer it’s the only point of difference, give Brisbane more time and it will meet your other needs. If you are referring to the botanic gardens in the CBD please tell me how that could be expanded, that is literally impossible. As for green spaces and trees in suburbs that would depend where you live definitely, there are suburbs where this need is met as well so you may need to be more specific. In terms of scenery Sydney is surrounded by waterways and has iconic buildings, past that it’s not much different in the CBD plus you have to be very wealthy to live in a scenic area in Sydney so only the really rich are in these areas, not sure if you are one of those super wealthy people?
