I’ve seen so many people have separation issues with various inky list products - I don’t know what’s going on but it really turned me off. I’m lucky enough to have a bit more of a skincare budget so I can just pay a little more for other products but it’s a bummer overall.

The Inkey List has a quality control problem. That "separation" issue occurs with a lot of their products. I had the same thing happen to me with their Oat Cleansing Balm. The one I received had separated or melted into a thick greasy oil. It was like vaseline basically. It looked and felt disgusting!

Could you review the Make Prem Idebenone Lifting Ampoule? People use it as a dupe for Stratia liquid gold. It has been reformulated and repackaged to be fragrance free.

Hi Kelly. I wanted to point out that you are always talking about Ceramides, Cholesterol and Fatty acids and don't often specify what those ingredients look like on an inci list. Sometimes Cholesterol is labeled as Cholesterol but Fatty Acids are never labeled as Fatty acid. Could you do a bit on one of your videos clarifying exactly what we are looking for in ingredient lists when looking for those barrier supportive ingredients?

I have been using Stratia Liquid Gold for 1.5 years now. Bought it from your recommendation because of Maskne. It's definitely very oily, and my skin is very oily 😅 the color doesn't bother me because I have tan-yellowish skin. I love this series ❤️

I tried the inkey list oatmeal cleanser and the product seperated as well....I was for some time intrigued about the retinol eye cream since I don't use one but after seeing the consistency of the cottage cheese one....mmmmhhh no. I guess I'll continue using the Cerave retinol cream under my eyes....👍..so far no irritation ...thanks Kelly!!

My inkey list retinol eye cream also came like this, so I emailed them to make sure it was still ok. They said it's normal and just to shake it, which does work, but it's not my fav for sure. I have the FAB cream to try next though, I'm excited

I bought Alpha Arbutin from Inky List last year and the gel turned brown less than a month. I contacted the customer support and they said no issue using it, but I felt uncomfortable, so threw it away. Maybe Inky List has some quality control issues...🤔

Hi Kelly an interesting episode for sure. One thing about stratia is it's not really available internationally - they will send it to the UK, but the shipping is very ouch and almost doubles the cost of the product. Paula's choice is more of an international brand - despite the slightly higher price tag. For a retinoid eye product I mix a little of the retinaldehyde I use on my neck (geek and gorgeous Agame) into my eye cream and use that instead of the dedicated eye creams - works well for me, but as always I advise patch testing. I'm super dry and clay masks are something I haven't used since I was a teen (cough over thirty years ago lol). Best wishes.

A comparison and more information on the NIOD MG would be great. Especially how it fits into barrier support/repair as it’s often touted as that. I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve been doing a fair bit of research into it with the idea to buy. If you bring the ingredients up in INCIdecoder it does come across as being more directed towards anti inflammatory action with the glucosides and heavy on amino acids, so hydration I would think. It does contain squalane but no Ceramides. So I don’t think it would replace the lipids in these barrier products featured. But I would love to have a more expert opinion on this. I’m considering for my rosacea prone skin that seems to be getting progressively dryer as I age. I’ve just added the Paulas choice omega moisturiser and love that so far.

The ORANGE color in liquid gold was definitely a deal breaker for me. I'm Asian (and not even a super pale one), and it made my face look like a case of sunless tanner gone bad. I could only use it at night (I'm a minimal base makeup wearer), and it took forever to finish that dang bottle! Back to Krave great barrier relief for me. I've tried two products from stratia and have hated both. 😥

Soon Jung 2x barrier cream works very well and is not pigmented. I've used Benton's cocoa rich moist cream. It's 1.7fl oz at $17. Liquid Gold does turn my skin a little golden which works well with my dark skin, but I can stain my hats and face mask.

One thing I am always curious about when people talk about formulas and percentages is, how does the layering of multiple products affect this? For example, it seems that every product now has niacinamide at varying percentage levels. And the different levels do different things. But if I am putting on multiple toner layers, two serums, and a moisturizer, than how much niacinamide am I truly getting and what is that actual effect? Hopefully that question makes sense.

I love the liquid gold. I found out about it from you and have been using it for 1.5 years now. Mine lasts about 5 months because I use 1.5 pumps/ use. I also use it after serum and before moisturizer because it would not be enough for me.

I would totally just use an eye cream that I like and a separate retinol serum instead either of these eye creams. Actually, I would just use my night cream as an eye cream. Currently I use Isntree Hyaluronic acid moist cream and previously Illiyoon Ato and both worked excellently as a (night) eye cream with the Paula's choice retinol 1% diluted into it... It's so quick and simple to use the same effective retinol product (and cream) on your face and eye area!

I am currently using the IL eye cream and luckily haven't had the separation issue with it. I only use it the nights I use the IL Retinol on my face. I am pretty new to it and want to move up to Tret from the derm sometime this year. My question though is can I use the retinol eye cream every night moving up slowly or just keep to the same schedule as my face?

You can slowly add more days into you retinol eye cream schedule, if you don't have any dryness or irritation then you're good to go! Just listen to what your skin likes.

Do u know if the Diazolidinyl Urea is somthing to worry about in liquid gold.. I heard it's a formeldahyde releasing ingredient.?? I dont really know what that means but sounds scary amd the only reason I havnt bought liquid gold yet.

It's more a theory than a proven fact and what people tend to miss about ingredients is the actually concentrations being used in cosmetics are very small amounts. (your body also naturally releases formaldehyde, as do fruits and veg) It makes for some effective fear mongering but I personally don't think it's anything to worry about, you should definitely do your own research if you are ever in doubt. I suggest looking to cosmetic chemists as valuable sources of info as that is their zone of genius.

So we can use Tretinoin under our eyes? I am finding very conflicting information. I have deep under eye wrinkles and some say it makes them worse. Thinking I need a retinol eye cream.

You have to decide how much your skin can tolerate and take it slowly. I use 1% tretinoin on my whole eye area ( whole lids and undereye). I worked up to doing that by initally "buffering" the Tret by putting my nighttime moisturiser on first and then the Tret on top. Eventually I worked up to putting the Tret on my bare skin at night time and then I wait 30 mins and then I put a heavy layer of moisturiser allowed my face, including my eyes.

@@Begining2013 I do the same but afraid of the eye area. I am 60 with real wrinkles and have read that it makes it worse on many people. And I wouldn't suggest it on the eyelids. Not going to do any good, just dry them out.

I love clay masks too! Can I ask whether you use them as an alternative to chemical exfoliants for eg that week u use BHA twice but I have already used clay masks two times, can I still use BHA or it is not recommended as it can damage my skin barrier?

Everyone's skin is different, you will know better what your skin can handle. Pay attention to how it feels and if you're getting dry or irritated then back off on those products.

Thats a good question. I had this doubt too And it depends if you're using a clay mask without any ahas/bhas in it then you can use it along with bhas its just gonna clean your pore. But if you're using a clay mask that has any ahas/bhas then you might wanna swap it for your bha. Or use clay mask and bha once a week. And then if your skin can take it you may could also use all of three per week. So see how your skin takes it.

I have had my eye on The Liquid Gold for a long time. I have been using Krave GBR for awhile now and wanting to try something else. My only concern with Liquid Gold is that propylene glycol is in it. I have never had an issue with that ingredient, but none of my other products have it in it. And I have heard it can be irritating on your skin. Is that information accurate or has anyone else had an issue with that ingredient???

My oily combination loovvee like crazy innisfree clay mask. But when I'm start 32, my skin hate it.. My skin becomes dryer n sensitive. Pimple comes all over my face. I just stop all clay mask, tretinoin n focus more hydration in skincare. Like hydrating Essence n serum. Still can't control my anger skin. Finger cross!
