This or That returns with Kobe and Dash who face off over better Yuumi companions, solo queue as particularly valuable practice, and which way to swipe. #ThisorThat #LCS #lolesports

i think tbh that solo q is a huge impact for the players so many strategies are invented in solo q sometimes even from lower ranked ppl and high ranked people on their smurf account take it to the lcs and thats not what u learn when u 1v1 your academy top laner and at some point u kinda know how they will approach the lane so u kinda got a clue how to counter in solo q u always got a new one u may not know or even not know that well and in straight 1v1 the only thing u have to care about what ur oponent do against u not could there be a jungler is the mid laner still one the lane maybe the bot lane initiate the lane swap u need to see things without communication if we take scrims for example but in the end if you wanna end up on this lvl u will need both u cant just play 1 of these 2 and say will be enough trust me as we see in korea and china they are kinda 24/7 solo que but more as a practise not to reach rank 1 and if they are not in solo que they are most likely sleep or skrim but yeah if you dont take solo q serious it makes no real sense to play it and what licorice said was right and as we see it works for him so no offend in any kinda way in his opinion

invaluable - Kobe's face lighting up like English major Solo queue vs practice tool/1v1's. Which is more valuable depends on what you need to improve on. Last question - I don't care if jg is ganking for ME, but he/she needs to be ganking... not afk farming and never getting objectives. The whole counter-jg meta is still a bit too hardstuck in some people's heads. Being up 2-3 camps, but having zero map impact doesn't mean jack when the other team's jg is stacking dragons and putting multiple lanes ahead.

If you can practice your lane with other pros on your own, soloqueue is useless for a pro. Soloqueue macro is a joke. Id say the only value (for a pro) soloqueue has is playing against onetricks on their onetrick. Scrim macro supercedes anything youd come up with in soloq.
@amethonys27984 жыл бұрын
I'd say a general statement though is solo queue existing (not you necessarily playing it) is good for learning. Having such a higher sample size in the game means you have a higher chance of someone discovering something good. I sincerely doubt in just scrims of 100 players you'd see one of them initially "troll" by playing something like Gunblade Voli Top because let's face it, that idea sounds dumb as hell, but it is incredibly efficient in some match ups.
@3269238554644 жыл бұрын
I don't think you play soloq for macro but for mechanical practice. And i'm not just talking about lane, in soloq because everything is so chaotic you get exposed to a plethra of senarios and skirmishes that you otherwise probably wouldn't get to experience and learn from it and even try to replicate in your main games if you think it is worth it. I think that is pretty important.
@justkap71574 жыл бұрын
Damonte is a story about NA not enabling their local talent (EVEN WHEN THEY'RE PROMISING AND DOING WELL), whereas Xmithie is probably in a slump. Damonte Vs. Xmithie: Damonte is one of NA's top up and coming talents. He made it to Worlds last year and then his team got dissolved. He is potentially one of the best mid-laners in the league, and he doesn't take up an import slot. We never saw a drop in his performance. His team just got dissolved. It is a crime that he didn't start in Spring. He didn't do amazing in his first Worlds appearance, but I don't think he can take all of that blame. For Xmithie, we did see a drop in his performance this past Spring. If DL were to not start this split, it'd be the same thing. Something wasn't clicking for them on their respective teams, so Immortals decided to switch something up and give newer talent a shot.

What's Better with Yuumi is obviously pillaging. If your exploring you might actually want to take artifacts and treasures and Yuumi is just going to look you in the eyes and slap these rare and valuable treasures across the floor. If you're pillaging and Yuumi looks you in the face and knocks everything off the shelves, you're going to nod and knock things off shelves with her!

I dont think licorice is saying solo queue is not good practice its just that toplane is so different in lcs to solo queue .like adc your still farming trying to take winning trades and staying on the edge of fights.but toplane your rotating,looking for flanks and looking for 1v1s.where in solo queue you get spam ganked

4:45 A non-native speaking, what's the difference between "as valuable as practice" and "valuable as practice"? I thought they meant the same thing this whole time
@marcossamuelbocanegrav43644 жыл бұрын
As valuable as practice means that both (soloQ and practicing like scrimms, 1vs1 and practice tool) has the same individual value. Valuable as practice means that instead of practice, you could just play soloQ and be ready for games. If you speak Spanish, I can explain it better.
@gigian10004 жыл бұрын
With the as valuable as practice you're comparing the valuableness and saying they're equal. With valuable as practise you're asking if solo queue has any value at all to use as practise.

Huge pet Peeve developing for me is people using 1v9 so often in a completely wrong way. It doesn't make sense for the amount of humans doing good or bad you are talking about. Specifically this time even if Jackeylove's 3 "professional" LPL teammates were helping the enemy team win and hurting Jackeylove. You still have to at least count the Yuumi and make it a 2v8. But i much preferred when people said 1v5 especially that way you aren't implying professional players in competitive league as hurting your own team instead of helping. I get it in solo queue which u queue up as one. 1v9 u don't like the random teammates they make u lose. But I really think people need to get away from saying 1v9 when talking in a competitive standpoint.
@hinoakuma63864 жыл бұрын
I agree. It's a big pet peeve of mine now. I didnt mind it at first, but it's really dumb to hear it being used to describe pros. It often ooverhypes a pros actual play in the game. For example, that Jakey game was 100% not 1v9. He was strong... but his team was also doing well.

Bro EG played 100T and CLG which are worse opponents than TSM and GGS, GGS> 100T, TSM > CLG. And ppl say that TL is the second best according to scrims. I rly hate TL, but cant stand it if you put EG as better if they have 9/10th place top laner with Kumo
@gregpartridge75544 жыл бұрын
TL and EG both won both games, so TL having harder opponents doesn't make them better - IMO EG won their games more convincingly than TL did, even with opponent strength factored in. Kumo was maybe 9th best last split but is playing better so far in summer. Still bottom half, but EG carries through the other lanes so they don't need him to be great, just good enough to not get stomped which he showed he can do vs. Ssumday.
