First things first, congratulations on the new family member! So freaking awesome! Now, outhouse...in case it did not cross your mind yet lol...plastic skirting inside the front of the box so the wood does not get soaked when using it....and it will lol.....pick up a piece of blue foam board for the top, your but will thank you on a cold winters day. I use mine at 30 to 40 below zero and there is nothing better to keep your butt warm!

If your winters are cold enough and you don't like frosty cheeks, foam seats are the go to choice for outhouses. If you've got any extra rigid insulation foam, you could carve up a couple replaceable seats.

Your door turned out better than my attempt. I had some extra 1 x 12 s laying around so I smashed them together into a door. Last time I saw it... before winter it was getting pretty warped. When I get back up to my property in a couple weeks I need to take it down and put together something proper-ish.

Greyum - you'll wanna line the inside walls of the toilet with rigid plastic, or the wood will quickly absorb some nasty odors and you'll have rebuilld it. Check out bushradical's channel if you haven't already, he's built several dookie dens on there. 🍻

The dookie 💩 den needs a Pee shield - line the inside of the bench above the Dookie hole with polycarbonate plastic - that will prevent a lot of stink and smell from saturating the wood and making the place more nasty than it needs to be.
