Very well explained in regards to concept, why and how it works from a technical aspect. The cutaway is an excellent perspective for non technical and visual basic individuals to take an explanation out of the ether and have true context. Because oscillations or tiny movements start tiny from the bottom and get bigger as they go through the bike (think of an upward spiral) Even Honda now has one in the tail in 2023, it was shown in testing .. to be honest , they keep changing the position depending on rider feedback or their data

@ChasingTenths2 жыл бұрын
Thank you mate, much appreciated. It will actually be quite great in tight and short tracks because you have to make the most of the track so you come out quicker off turns and accelerate harder and earlier and the change of directions etc, so it will give great confidence and stability . The riders mentioned are top class, riders with superior electronics and suspension set ups, far better than the street rider, also they have access to data computer, so how can I tell its delivering what the over suspension states. Asking for a friend, incase I sound dumb.

Haha I love the last line there mate. Well I am in the same boat as you , Jerez cancelled , Portimao cancelled , LeMans cancelled and many U.K. Trackdays are only one day which isn’t enough to test this side by side. I haven’t had a single negative comment from any owner of this device yet . I mainly do Trackdays riding and I really wanted to test this side by side alongside another rider who is same weight and same bike but everything got cancelled . I am speaking to the factory regularly If I get some data I will make another video on this with me testing the device over 3 days , but honestly , every racer I have spoken to loves this wether it’s track or off track

Hi Mike , so sorry for the late reply , that chain adjuster block is replaced with exactly same block which comes with the over suspension device as part of the attachment with markings. @Hypersonik4 жыл бұрын
£400 for a weight on a spring?! is there any papers on the actual testing regards the highsides? I reckon you could make something that does the same job for about £20. Chatter/flytter/wobble, they're just names for resonance - an inherent frequency of which cascading energy build up occurs. as long as you have something on the bike to disrupt it, job done.
@ChasingTenths4 жыл бұрын
Hypersonik well you raise a fantastic point, I just spoke to a chap who made something like this in his house in 1979 for his two stroke motorcycle and it didn’t cost him much. So I totally agree about the price and I reckon people have to decide what kind of rider level they are at on track and if it will help them but it’s getting introduced on road bikes too recently , Honda Africa Twin and BMW GS (only in front) . In terms of data, yes, Supreme Technology work with a few Italian race teams in Italian premier class but most closely they work with Michele Pirro (MotoGP test rider) and Michael Renaldi from Barni racing team and all the data comes from that team . On their website they have a graph which shows how the damping affects vibrations. But I agree that it’s a bit pricey 🤷♂️

I know these comments were all about 5-6 months ago, but I have a genuine question... Why is the product made to seemingly only have one chain/axle adjuster block? (Does that make sense) on my GsxR you have two blocks (one either side) and you adjust them both via threaded components to make sure the axle is perfectly aligned and your chain is correctly tensioned... The same goes for those lighTec quick chain adjusters etc. So let’s say you remove one, or both. How do you now adjust your chain? If you’re suggesting you just adjust one side and line the other one up approximately then I’d rather have a well tensioned chain and correctly aligned axle then a £400 dampener. I can’t see any form of chain adjustment features on that damper?? Am I missing something?? Not being negative... Just curious as seen this on sale by a very reputable race parts supplier now and am interested if I can understand it fully. Cheers.
@ChasingTenths4 жыл бұрын
I understand Mate good point , well raised. You can still adjust the chain both sides with this on easily, the mechanism for chain adjusting doesn’t get removed. This goes in place of the plate and chain can still be adjusted with no issues. I have actually seen it getting adjusted

They are good riders and they truly felt the rear was in check on the bike and 2 of them said that they had more peace of mind and they could go on the power earlier coming out of the corners . 2 street only riders told me that they just feel much difference on low speed but on roads with undulating tarmac they felt the difference . I was wondering of over suspension can flatten these things making the Road as if It were a billiard table and therefore the ride more comfortable on the back and safer . Thank you for your answer. Mauro Dario.
@ChasingTenths8 ай бұрын
I will be totally honest with you Mauro, this device will not make the road smoother at all… or make the ride feel very smooth .. this device is designed to counter the small oscillations on your bike cause by aggressive riding or small undulations on the road but not major,.. this device is more of a safe guarding device from highsides or small vibrations and constant corrections of the juddering forces .. this is not an additional suspension to smooth road surfaces .. it’s a good question but I don’t want you to spend your money thinking this will act as secondary suspension, it’s more like a damper

BizAutomation hi mate, I absolutely adore Dave Moss, love his work and dedication and have paid to watch many of his suspension set up videos . I’d be interested to hear his views but to be honest it’s a proven device in motorsport for many years it’s only made available to the public now so some skepticism is normal from general public. If you are based in California then I do request you to get in touch with Randy at Ballissimotto in Las Vegas, They went to the ECIMA show in Italy and he had seen it installed on the Barni Racing Team’s bike and he spoke to the owner Nicola of Supreme Technology, Bellissimoto sell this too , so do give them a ring and they’ll walk you through the product more if you wish . But for sure someone like Dave who is massive on “Contact Patch” as the name of his channel suggests would be also super intrigued by this , I wouldn’t be surprised if he has already seen it in other shape or forms cause mass dampers come in all sorts of avatars
@BizAutomation4U4 жыл бұрын
@@ChasingTenths I actually got a response from Dave via email yesterday. Here's what he said: "It is very intriguing hence asking for one to do a write up on. I am like so many other, very curious indeed to see if this technology will work for the street (slower) or only work at the track (faster)". Seems like an open offer to get a major endorsment from one of the premier suspension voices in our industry. I'd be really surprised if they don't take him up on his offer.

Rob Rive Rob, you just hit the nail on the head. It’s definitely used in super Moto but on the front. It’s just a new innovation to public that not many people know about it and some people think that it’s only for high end racers. This has been introduced lately in touring bikes (Honda Africa twin but it’s electronically managed) . I am aware that motor cross and super Moto also use it. Cheers Darren, a very valid point you made there and I was honestly waiting for someone to ask me that question. The thing is, I know many of my examples were from racing but on the flip side you have the novice and inters group guys (I was one so I know) who sometimes over do on the bike and stretch the bike's grip potential. I did that and I crashed twice, so this device can nullify some that negative unstable energy into stable progressive but predictable movements on the bike. On the other side, the product is being hailed as more of a safety feature than an out and out lap time device. So there are more positives from this device than drawbacks. But, I love your question. I often thought about this myself when I was researching about this video. The more I researched the more I was convinced that this is for all riders. Road or Race.

Mate, you just hit the nail on the head. I didn't include this in my video as it would be pretty long but in my description I have mentioned that the new Honda Africa Twin has got this system and the New BMW GS has got it in the front, but both systems are electronically controlled on their top models. I would be surprised if the new KTM 1290 GT has not already got it in some form or the other. This device was first hailed as a stability device for all moving vehicles and now it's become more of a performance device. So mate, definitely it's worth it on a touring bike. That's why deliberately I showed a BMW GS in the video twice because it pays dividends as a road bike gadget too

@JamesBrown-ux9ds3 жыл бұрын
A. you are helping to boost sales, B. there is an effect. But why are you comparing chassis mounted ones like Ducatis and wheel mounted ones like here without mentioning the fundamental difference? And such device will only help when used close to the overall resonance frequency of the whole rear suspension - and this is not constant but changes, due to progression in spring rate and hydraulic damping, changes in tyre internal damping with wear and temp. etc - this immedeately asking for an active version of it, as well to be steared/controlled by the bikes central electronics in an overall integrated way?
@JamesBrown-ux9ds3 жыл бұрын
And obviously there is a next field of possible testing to be seen immedeately as well - mounted to a gimbal it could always stay vertical - better or worse?

Finally, I am a physics student from my college and university days and all I have tried to do is explain something in super simplistic words for general public who didn't know something like this existed by using some common examples which we all saw in school unless in arts or sociology. I'm guessing this being a year ago the device didn't really catch on. My question is, if they just supply this in a box and motorcycle suspension being as complicated as it is, who on earth would be able do this setup for you correctly without having a suspension data on your bike like the 2D system on the s1000rr? This looks very gimmicky to me without having the necessary tools for proper setup. It can't simply be slap on and it magically works for every person (ie every weight) on every bike. A few kilos in rider weight can change a bikes suspension setup drastically and then we are not even considering riding style etc etc.
@ChasingTenths3 жыл бұрын
They have sold in their thousands especially after they were introduced in British superbikes and world superbikes in 2020. So the technology is proven otherwise it wouldn’t be used at world stage or high competition levels. The device is simple , it works very similar to a mass damper but for motorbikes this time, mass dampers have been in motorsport for nearly 2 decades now . The performance is there but in the finest detail I am sure. I am just a guy who loves physics and this made absolute sense so I made a video as I remember F1 Renault had the same technology too and it was too good and hence it got banned .

@@ChasingTenths I've seen it on some marketing shots too, but can't see it on the bike when on-track racing. Looking at what the MotoGP teams have done, their units are HUGE by comparison, which makes a lot more sense than the unit on Marcos bike ( marketing shots ). I'd want to see a full-on review by Dave Moss to be convinced that small unit does anything remotely worth anywhere near the price they're asking for a small spring & weight.

@@steverielly yeah there’s not much shots on the WSBK bike and the bsb bike. @ChasingTenths4 жыл бұрын
RS Racing Channel hey mate, thanks for watching . It doesn’t need to be close to the suspension. It’s better if it’s far as that’s where the vibrations are. The vibrations are lower in the middle. Best example is sitting behind a bus, right at the back, you get a bumpy ride and you start to feel 🤢 sick. For example Ducati put this device (gyroscopic version) in the Lower tail of the bike just as I described on the video so it nullifies all the vibrations. I hope that made sense . Happy to explain more with videos if you wish :)

This is snake oil. Never attach something like this to your swingarm or forks. The device Renault used was attached to the chassis, not the end of the wheels! You can never stop tire chatter on a racetrack, as the track has lots of bumps created by the racing cars with their super sticky tires and big wings. The "Mass Damper" the GP bikes use is mounted in the chassis, not the wheels. This is JUNK! RUN AWAY!
@taitsmith8521 Жыл бұрын
Oh, they just applied the mass damper that Renault was running on their nose cones to motorcycle swingarms. Makes sense. Although realistically, nobody on the road is ever going to need this.
