Translated version of the real story 2 Weeks ago, Ms. Bao Bao went to the park with her family at 5 PM. The family consists of two cats, one parrot, and one dog. My close friends know that my cats can walk on leash just like a dog. Suddenly, a Puerto Rican boy ran into the leash and sent my cat, Ponzu, into the air and fell onto the ground very hard. Ponzu twitched on the ground uncontrollably. Ms. Bao Bao quickly turned around to look at the child; instead of stopping, the child kept dragging Ponzu over the next few steps. Ponzu struggles to get out of the leash and runs away from the fears. Ponzu’s heart condition kicked in; once Ms. Bao Bao ran after Ponzu and held Ponzu near her chest. This caused Ponzu to scratch her arms because Ponzu was on her survival instinct. Ms. Bao Bao tried to calm Ponzu down; she observed the bleeding on Ponzu’s right hind leg. Upon closer look, she realized that Ponzu has been declawed from the force of the child launching and dragging the cat on the ground. Ms. Bao Bao was shocked and yelled at the child, “What did you just do?”. The boy quickly ran away toward his family, then the eight family members came forward and confront Ms. Bao Bao and her family. The mother of the child cursed at Bao Bao, “This is what you got when you walk your Fucking Cat, Bitch!” Bao Bao returned Ponzu to the basket in the cart. The heated verbal argument ensues. Bao Bao and her boyfriend tried to explain the situation to the family; however to no avail, no one was willing to listen peacefully and the verbal argument escalated. One of the older teenage boys in the family group came forward and punched the parrot on Bao Bao’s boyfriend's shoulder. This caused the parrot to fly away and land in the middle of the street. Bao Bao quickly went to retrieve the parrot before it got run over by the car. Suddenly, Bao Bao heard the laughter noise from the group, when Bao Bao returned to put the parrot in the cage. She saw the same teenage boy that punched the bird acting as if he was kicking Bao Bao’s Dog. The teenage boy pulled the dog’s tail until the dog was lifted from the air. The arguments continue to escalate because the family has not stopped bothering with Bao Bao family. One of the teenage girls in the family came up and assaulted Bao Bao. In self defense, Bao Bao returned the strike out of fear. Suddenly the brawl broke out; the mother of the family and other women jumped on Bao Bao, they kicked, choked, pulled her hair, and tried to gouge Bao Bao’s eye. Bao Bao cannot fight back with three women getting on her. Her boyfriend tried to stop the fight; however, the teenage boy who hurt the animal suddenly sucker punched him. The punch broke his noses and his glasses. Everything happened very quickly to where no one could react. Two of the gentlemen stepped in and helped Bao Bao and stopped the fight. The two gentlemen asked, “Why do you have to jump on these couples like this?” The family extorted, “Their cat hurt my son first and this bitch hurt my son too!” Afterward, the family quickly got in the car and sped away before the police arrived. There were several eyewitnesses that shared the detail with the police about how the whole situation went down. Some witnesses also recorded some part of the situation on the video. Two weeks later, the New York City Police Department changed the assigned detective three times because no one wanted to take the case. The most recent detective is unwilling to listen to Bao Bao’s case and tries to blame the victim for their situation despite the eyewitnesses’ accounts and videos. Here is what the detective said: 1. “You got assaulted because you hurt the child first, if you did not do that. The family would not jump on you.” 2. “The whole thing was your fault because you did not walk away and ended the whole situation. This is why your boyfriend got assaulted and your cat died. You put the whole risky situation on your family. What kind of normal people took the cat out on the walk anyway? 3. “You have to stop with the, ‘they hurt my kid.’ You cannot compare a cat to a human child. A cat is simply a pet, you cannot compare their life to a child’s life and justify a defense.” 4. If you are seeking justice, you have come to the wrong place. Because if it was that easy, the whole George Floyd situation would not last this long. 5. (When Ms. Bao Bao was denying the charge on assaulting the child.) “Why are you so stubborn? Just make it easy on everyone, if I said you are wrong, then you are wrong! Do you understand that? I do not have to interview any of your witnesses because I believed in everything I saw on the video. (As a side note, the video that the detective received is only the part where the verbal argument ensued after the family have hurt my pets and the part where they jump on Ms. Bao Bao and assaulted her boyfriend.) 6. “If you want justice and want me to believe your case then you better go find more evidence on your own.”{ 7. “Also, if you want me to go after this family and persecute them, the whole case might turn over. You might be the one who ends up in jail instead for assaulting a child.
