I’ve been to New York, New Jersey, Croatia, Nice, Rome, Amsterdam, Monaco, Assisi, Frankfurt, Scotland, Gran Canaria, Scotland, Malta, visited Nigeria once as a kid Born in Dublin Ireland and Currently living in London. I adored New York because a lot of American movies I watch enticed me to go there. I cried as I stood in the middle of the city looking at the sky scrapers surrounding me. I hope to visit family in Texas soon by God’s grace ! 🙏🏾

What a place to visit , normally such busy place like that can't rule out dirty waste materials litters everywhere. Perhaps you must see berger on the street of new York just as late Majek Fashek mentioned in his old music. Alot of people even unborn children are aspire to visit US and take tourism to NYC..thanks for sharing the vibes and ugly side of it...

Wow! From your experience, it’s giving Sydney vibe too just that there’re no street hawkers in Sydney. There’s also little Lagos in Sydney and Brisbane but their meals are not wonderful. Nice feedback

They use big cars in the US generally unlike in the UK where you see little cars.

Esther Tochi welcome to New York and especially Manhattan. You see, people are paid their wages or salaries based on their Zip Codes. This is to help offset the living cost. Since you and your husband got your visas for a five-year period, you could travel to Atlanta, Houston, Washington, DC and compare notes.

NYC really is for the young and single! There is no place like NYC. I could live there when I was younger. I lived in London for 10 years and loved it but I was in my early 20s! Our eldest lives in the upper east side and we enjoy visiting her. People also get paid more for living in different places depending on the cost of living! Sucks you are in H, we are further up North of TX Best!

Tochi, your description of NY in relation to Lagos is apt. In fact, it's worst in Brooklyn. If you ever went to Brooklyn, some parts, though, you would've felt worse. For me, I call Brooklyn " Glorified Lagos"

I had the exact impression/observation and I agree 💯. The point is New York is a commercial city . My first impression when I visited years ago was damn this is Lagos and just like Lagos you can see the gap between the rich and poor. It’s a dirty city so are their tower buildings with loads of graffiti, junkies etc in short I will call it ghetto.

There is much to New York than five borough( Brooklyn , Queens, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island)or let me say metrol areas. Even in the five boroughs there are that are not congested , that if you visit such areas you will have different stories to tell. Some notable cities outside the five boroughs include: - Buffalo (western New York) - Rochester (western New York) - Albany (capital city, eastern New York) - Syracuse (central New York) - Ithaca (Finger Lakes region) - Kingston (Hudson Valley) New York city is a complicated metropolitan city and doesn't represent New York state as whole bloggers should do better research so as not misinterprete what what New York as a state looks like and USA at large .

Everybody knows she’s sharing her experience as someone who has been in the USA for just few days. Her title literally said “this part of US is not for me”. She’s not talking about the whole of US or even NYC. She mentioned where she was.

Welcome to the US…… Newyork is among the smallest states in Americas 50 states 🇺🇸 and manhattan is just a city there are very clean cities and enjoyable neighborhoods around New York manhattan is more of a business center…. The unpopular states in America are the most beautiful.
