The dlc makes this so much better. Use the claymore or milady with the Carian Sovereignty ash of war you get from a cave near Ymir’s church. Adulas moon blade goes along way as well.

Have you tried the spell with the grey skullheads that track your opponent + that pull gravity spell that that pulls them into the skulls? Its hard to to dodge and guarantees you get damage sometimes

Hey Drunk, So I went into some invasions today as a pure caster gothic Witch type character and I could quite easily deal with colossal weapon users as a light roll intelligence build. Carian slicer and Carian piercer worked like a charm and I loved making an entrance when they were in the Church of Elleh by launching canon of haima in there! Where I did get my arse handed to me multiple times was a giant katana user. He kept closing the distance and making short work of me although I was able to land Carian piercer quite a lot. Then it dawned that I need a good close range melee option to go with the spells. I’m now using my elf mage character with armour, swords and Carian shield along with staves for battle and see how that changes the tides of war.

Intelligence builds had become my favorite. So much that I had 3 of them and a 4th mixed with faith. Yes, one of them Uses moonveil, but to be fair, I dodge mv ash easily and when it comes to pvp, I’ll use anything to eliminate gank squads or s#itters. Glintsone shield to Ranni’s moon to collapsing stars with piercing fang is so gd satisfying

Definitely strength faith. Intelligence faith is a bad split and only works at higher levels.

There is no meta for invasions. Only duels. When you invade, you invade where there is fun in this game.

I'm always surprised to see you don't use much casting speed at all for your magic builds. I get that you don't need it for Slicer or Shard, but wouldn't the rest of your arsenal benefit from it?

So, in 1v1 against skilled players, the small amount of casting speed makes a difference that is worth it. So I would use radagon talisman. But in invasions, the casting speed isn't quite as important. Damage is more important.

Drunk is right, but I'm pretty sure these knights don't drop their weapon. And even if they do, there's a much faster way to get one, since you can find it in the ruins right next to the grace where Melina gives you Torrent, the sword is inside one of the stationary carriages.

The carriage sword is different, Lordsworn gs. One of the easiest ways to farm a knights greatsword is a spectral knight standing right outside the black knife catacombs in Liurnia. Grace is right behind him.

Been playing something very similiar to this build, kgs cold with carian grandeur, change some spells, like instead of the carian's swords ones put Loretta's, rock sling, adula's etc based on the situation and I must say I'm doing pretty fine

Because they get away with it in PvE. When the L2 deletes poise and health bars from super far for very little FP, why bother doing anything else? Doing the same move over and over isn't boring to someone who has no intention of getting better at the game, especially if they play with friends, they're probably laughing about it. They probably get away with it in PvP too if all they do is have invaders jump into them 1v3 for them to blend.

Invaders have to fight two or three players all the time and many are higher level twinks so stop whining about invaders not playing in a nonsensical manner that would give the host even more advantages. Der I’ll walk up to you and bend over for you! That easy enough sweetie? Host already has more flasks to use. Has gold and blue phantoms that can be summoned over and over. Host and friends don’t have to worry about friendly fire. Invaders have to worry about friendly fire from players and AI. Host can use rune arcs too so just stop! Miyazaki has made it so smooth for hosts but it’s never good enough for you soft serves. You guys don’t like being invaded while alone! You’re not even satisfied when the odds are greatly tipped in your favor. Elden Ring has taken so many steps back in regard to pvp. Tired of hearing boys like you cry over it. Would love to hear you clowns whine about the other souls games if you can’t handle Elden Ring without moaning. Sheesh!

Hello... Level 168 is very high. Playing at this level doesn't pose much of a challenge, especially for the Intelligence class. Even reaching level 40 with four talisman slots and the help of friends to defeat bosses for these four slots isn't challenging. Other players are progressing through the game naturally with fewer talisman slots, weaker talismans, and consequently lower vigor. Defeating players is easy at both level 168 and level 40. However, level 125 is challenging and will truly demonstrate a player's skill in PvP.

Dude all the levels have the same skill distribution. There are not "harder invasions" anywhere. It's entirely random.

Bro it's not that deep. The only difference is the stats spread you can get away with. If anything, the higher you invade, the higher the chances are that you're fighting people with high VIG, which increases the difficulty of invasions significantly. Also, having more talismans doesn't make that big of a difference, nobody has 4 slots at lvl 40, and if they're going through all that trouble to "cheese" the game (again, talismans only help a little) they might as well use Cheat Engine instead. No idea how you came up with that whole narrative on your own.

125 is duelist and ganker meta, probably the least enjoyable level for invasions, personally I'm a fan of sub 100 pvp I like the 168 but find the wait times a bit too long.
