Hello Uncle Ben! I watched this review of BHL picks, and was so impressed I went and bought some. I can already see an improvement in my picking (I'm a huge fan of Troy Grady too). Thanks for taking the time to design such an awesome pick.

Ben Eller thanks for responding buying another prestige 7 string soon. might try some bareknuckle pups in that one. my prestige I have now has a locking tremelo and mohagony body new one has fixed bridge and basswood body. any suggestions would be appreciated but I know your a busy dude. just want something little more brutal than air Norton and tone zone combo that's in it.

Uncle Ben, just got mine today. These are fucking amazing. They have the perfect thickness, grip, weight/balance, attack, the edge is right-hand beveled so the smooth part of the ultem (the surface is the grainy part of the ultem for grip) just slides off of the string. i'm literally blown away at the difference this pick makes.
@jaycouture19968 жыл бұрын
I just wish I could have gotten 'em in red or black/gray

the right hand/left hand bevel is great. Seems a lot of attention to details was put into this pick. oh and.... great song !
@sebastianwei77218 жыл бұрын
+Kaosware I agree, had some thick Delrin picks made for my band a while back.(by intunegp) They sound great, but playing feel could be improved. With the bevel it doesn't stumble over the strings any more. Thanks for the tip Ben!

Ben my band and i was purposely putting bevels on our tortoise picks back in 1994 for speed! we did it by sliding them back and forth on our carpet or concrete. Now i’m break the bank in Cool jazz picks medicine white. they have sand paper grip and i shred through them fast but worth it. maybe i’ll try yours! Thanks for all the lessons and what you do!!! i’m that old guy now 48 and still busting out metal and my favorite ol school thrash and new school Gojira or TooL. ps

That speed bevel is a great idea! I've been using the same Jazz III for 10+ years and over all of this time it has a pretty dramatic bevel. It's hard to go back once you have that!

Hey Uncle Ben! I have a question about that asymmetrical beveling, where the right side of the pick is grounded slightly more than the left. I know that you are familiar with Troy Grady's "Breaking the code"-series, where he talks a lot about picking in an angle, in relation to the string, to decrease the contact area between them. So does it make sense, to increase the area by grounding the contact side of the pick? I know that in the end it all comes down to preference, and what makes sense on the paper isn't necessarily the most comfortable option. But since you seem to pay a lot of attention to small details when it comes to picking, I wonder if you have thought of this. Cheers!

Very interesting concept with the speed bevel. I've always been a jazz pick kinda guy, but I think I'll order a pair of these and try them out. Maybe I'll be able to play faster than step-dad :)

I just got these in the mail today with the exception of one of them being a sharp tip instead of the bevel. They are indeed sick! Also Uncle Ben, when are you going to do a review of the Wizard Pro?
@blythcolin10573 жыл бұрын
I am really sorry to hear of the sick pick. I only ever use healthy plectrums myself as I find they tend to under perform when they are a little under the weather. I suggest that you give your plectrum an aspirin and send it to bed early for a good night's sleep. If symptoms persist then I urge you to consult a doctor. I wish both your plectrum and the english language a speedy recovery from this most unpleasant ordeal.

I've tried them. I LOVED the materials used, the tone, and the durability, but that shape just makes no sense to me. Other people I know love it, so your mileage may vary!
@daltontonga57618 жыл бұрын
+Ben Eller Gotta agree on the shape. I mostly use the less pointed edge. The rounded edge doesn't quite have the attack I like for chords, and the really pointy one is either too pointy for fast picking or doesn't have enough to hold onto if I shift my grip further down the point. I really want to try their new scale shape when they make the polyamide-imide version though. I think the more conventional shape might be right up my alley.

Already got a few, they're better than the average pick for sure. Well worth the money to grab a few sets. Guaranteed after using one, you won't go back to any other pick, that is for sure. I am extremely hesitant of most picks, always have been, always will be - I can personally vouch these picks are absolutely amazing! And no I have absolutely NO affiliation with this company in any way, I just honestly think they're the best picks around, very comfortable too! Just saying... :)
