Ricky, for the reason that you paid money for goods and services means that the garage conducting the works entered into a contract with you to complete the works paid for. You could make a claim with the small claims court which isn't expensive and would look to recover costs and losses. Good luck with the civic.

Ricky, when you win the case which you will as it relies on him actually replying to the paperwork. Make sure you get high court enforcement . To do this once you've won you will be given options to take most of which are useless. You will have to go to your local court and fill in the necessary forms. It's the only way to guarantee your money back. I was successful in this route when a guy ripped me off on a car. Good luck man👍

it would have been under civil law regarding getting the car back, however if he has kept and used or sold the missing parts, it is classed as theft and of course is a criminal offence. You've got a huge following and many willing to help you with the car, myself included. You will make this project a success, this waster was just a slight set back for you.

That evo is a beast the best car ever made. Always wanted one but at time of passing test insurance was 11k and car was 9.5k now insurance is £1500 but cars are like 25-30k. Should of just brought it and left it on the drive 😂😂🎉

You don’t need paperwork to form a contract, all you need is consideration. Since you paid Cal there would be consideration. Presumably you agreed it would be done in a certain period amongst other things, so this would be breach of contract.

You will struggle to win in court. There is no paperwork, and his buissiness will not be set up correctly. He can just close it down, call it bankrupt, and reopen in another name, paying you nothing. Better off paying some "debt" collectors to go get the 20k back from him in items or cash. i bet he would pay after one visit.

I had a 106gti back when I was 20 and put it in a bodyshop to have a full “max power” transformation. After months of issues I ended up getting car back 6 months later with a full list of problems. Took them to court and “won”…. Unfortunately I had lost my passion for the car by the time the court date was over…. It then sat rusting in my parents garden for the next 15 years 😢

If you have in writing via an estimate what you gave cal $ wise, there is absolutely a case here. Unsure of the UK laws about negligence, but in the US you have to show intention of completing a contract for it to be considered "respected". Considering the lump sum you spent with lack of forward progress, this wouldn't even be an argument in the states. You should get punitive damages as well for all the bs you've had to go through financially and emotionally. Ps. Sent it to the moon! EP3 chassis is underrated and almost never taken to the next lvl

I would build a 4WD DSG/auto Civic but I'd personally have it around 600-900bhp and drive it as a road car rather than a 2000hp drag beast edit: the more I think about it, even a 400-500hp 4wd civic would kill basically anything on a B road
