So many people say (often at funerals) "You've got to live each day as your last"! But then return to doing the same miserable 9-5. The last straw for me was seeing my best pals name on a "Died in service" plaque, 58 years old. I retired the next month.....

If you don't know, there is a good dedicated flat cycle path linking Alicante to Elche, it makes for a great day out. Really healthy both ways, or one way, beer and the train back. 😁

Really enjoying the Scottish couple's videos. This latest one is wonderful and it is telling me to overcome my fears and do it!My fears don't lie inthe actual physical move but in coping with the bureaucracy and paperwork..Here's hoping I manage it!

That was very philosofical Barry. Having got over the initial depression I think I could understand what you were trying to say. You do have to live yur life for you and if you can help and be kind to others along the way, all the better. I have been quite adventurous in my life including going on a two week holiday to Spain and returning to the UK 12 years later. I am brim full of amazing experiences throughout my life and I only wish I could have done more. My take on life is to follow your dreams. If it does'nt work out, you can allways go back but at least you tried and you will be all the wiser and more fullfilled. 😀👍

Getting deep, careful, it can get muddy in those thoughts. Years ago, I pinned two mottos up on my pinboard in front of my desk. "Fortune Favours the Brave", a very true statement that reminds us that when things get dark, the best attitude is to fight through. And, a great idea can only be known when it is experienced in action. The other is in Latin, "A motus animi continuus", which like all Latin phrases holds various ways to interpret, but means that if you keep moving you will always gain momentum. The small good things will snowball into better things... Cheers for another video, you've got sunshine down there, up here in the North it's drizzling, dull, and unpleasant weather. I'm sure spring will return one day in the future 🙂

Aye very true in what ye say. It's easy too get stuck in the rat race but so much harder to step out of it and do what you have always dreamed of doing. For most folk its too hard to much of a risk. But. What's the risk really. We're here for a good time not a long time. Knowing when to get off the hamster wheel is critical. Everyone is different, circumstance is different. But Knowing when its time too exit the rat race is critical. Seems like you timed it just right

My biggest achievement is a happy family life with 4 brilliant kids and 4 (so far) fantastic grandkids . I look forward to retirement in Spain in about 5 years but could die happily before then if that's God's will.

Very philosophical,Barry. Enjoyed the video. Mind you a more important question. What happens to you after this life is over? Where will you spend eternity?

Oooh , just to sum up , have a lot of possessions that people aspire to , £3m worth of properties classic cars and motorcycles, rental properties 1960s Aston Martin etc etc . And I don’t have the lifestyle you have , with sunny days and time on my hands just to enjoy myself. The most positive tv programme on at the moment is brits in the sun because they all love it . Very philosophical your content and something to act on and not think about. Not looking forward to the British winter. Ok there is the carrot and the stick.
