I dread playing as V, theres so many different things they could have done to make him better, and make his gameplay more fun, V really confirmed a thought I have had through my DMC career and that is - Someone at Capcom has a thing for weakling depressed types.

I like V. He grew on me. I think because he's so goddamn fragile compared to your other options. Trish would not capture that. She's no match for a Son Of Sparda. But she's not a pushover. Same goes for Lady. V is a little melodramatic, but you have to rely on his summons. Which really drives home the lore point of V being really goddamn weak. Plus, he's dying. I like that playing him is about as tough as it should be.

@@karmiccrotal3480 Hell and Hell is the biggest problem, especially when you need to S rank it. DMD is really fun, because the enemies don't die too quickly and you can combo them much longer, so this is the difficulty I am playing on most of the time.

Congrats on that platinum! I kind of gave up on it long ago. DMD was actually kind of a cake walk since it's the one mode that just let's you combo enemies into oblivion without them dying too quickly so for me that was the most fun once i realized i'm completely safe if i never touch the the ground lol. Hell and Hell is where my sanity broke and decided it wasn't worth the platinum. Mission 8 fucking sucks on that difficulty

Press it twice while DT'ed if he goes down while he's DT'ed and you'll knock his and his doppelganger's heads together. Doing that specific grab also triggers the vocal track for the bgm.

Special edition is probably easier than standard. The hell and hell mode completion is way easier with vergil since he can make himself become intangible with his teleport.

Super characters make Bloody Palace harder cause it gets rid of DT's health regen effect. If you can consistently get SSS style, DT is very easy to come by.

I'm not sure if its well known but at 4:05 you can use ragtime devil breaker to slow down spikes for the not get hit achievement. makes it alot easier 👍

You prob know this by now, but the easiest way to no hit H&H is to spam Red Hot Night and you’ll basically 1 hit every normal enemy and stagger any boss.

As someone who also Platinumed this game, I loved every single moment of my journey and Im glad I managed to do it in around a year. Despite what frustration I faced (Fuck you mission 18 I'm glad I used Dr.Faust cheese on you to get no dmg) but it was fun, Now all I have left to do is beat the Bloody Palace as Dante and Vergil (Very proud of myself for beating it as V first try) It was nice watching this video, reminded me of how far I've come. Dunno if anyone else mentioned this, but for the spikes on mission 15, the game's intended mechanic to get past them is for you to use the ragtime devil breaker to slow them down. Took me more than a few playthroughs to figure that one out.....

Theres a way to beat a lot of V missions without too much effort , if you press L2 and the pet's button (triangle or squaer) it will use 1 DT bar and make your pets auto do actions and get a dmg boost.

For SoS and HH I just spent hours trying to clear the urizen fight in the prologue. HH unsurprisingly was challenging mostly because the Crystal Yamato kept using the spikes when I tried to do 2 combos. Good job on the platinum though I definitely don't have the patience for it.

There are def Plats to be proud of, this and Vanquish were two of my wildest. That game's relatively quick compared to everything required DMCV though. S Ranking Hell and Hell (especially some V levels across the modes) was probably my roughest patch.

for the past month I've been doing a platinum run for all mainline DMC games. DMC 5 is last, got the platinums for other ones already, The hardest was DMC 1 on DMD i think. Yesterday I did Hell and Hell in DMC 5 - S rank (even missions 7 and 13 on all characters XD) all that is left is DMD and it's so easy and relaxing now after I've learned all the enemy patterns XD already on mission 6 and all S ranks are on first try. Hell and Hell is a test of endurance because you can't abuse the checkpoint system, you have to do entire mission in one run. There are some missions that allow for 1-2 hits but overall this mode forces you to perfect the game and Git GUD XD

@@VGGamess Stay in the air, As Dante Faust hat can literally clear everything including bosses giving you no damage runs, Urizen at mission 12 DMD can take some skill to No damage but I did so it's doable. Also you can cheat a bit XD When you close the game from ps main menu and open it again, you are put at last checkpoint but game doesn"t recognize it as checkpoint, so if you get hit you can close the game and retry for that x1.2 no continue + x2.0 no damage bonuses. Doesn't work on Hell and Hell since it restarts entire mission. Personally i did hell and hell S rank first and then came back for DMD and man was it easy XD
