A single black boat can turn your weak side not only into your strong side, but a strong side with faster reinforcements to the center than your opponent's strong side. Cool strategy. PS: You should never be surprised that a player named Sidewinder is playing Adder or that he uses Sidewinder. This is like being surprised to see LashIsUnderrated playing Lash.

12:00 when doing this kind of simulation with the move planner, you can figure out *exactly* which base a recon or other unit came from in most cases by looking at how much fuel it has. Sometimes I've been able to use that to completely reverse engineer every move an opponent had to make, and even figure out what that had to mean about their capture order in still unseen pieces of the map. Most of the time one doesn't need that level of detail though I admit, and just knowing what turn they built a unit on is usually enough

If I may ask, why didn't you build any artillery? I understand why Sidewinder didn't build one (Adder), but for Jess they are really powerful units. Do you think they aren't that great for her, the map isn't made for them, or do you just don't like artillery in general? I almost always throw one or two in my army, so I was wondering why you didn't.

I think I just kinda wasn't feeling like making one lol. It prob would've been good to make one for the the build up in the middle. But, I tend to be very picky of when or if to make artys in fog. I think you're def right, an arty here would've been really nice, I'll just prob have to push myself to make more of them in fog.

oof. that mental game really turned a decently winning situation really bad. I also think that as Jess, I would prefer to try not to trade vehicles if I don't have to (such as at 26:43) and build enough vehicle count for the massive SCOP turn. I like thinking in terms of whether I can scale better or whether I have to press my day2day before the powers get online when deciding whether to fight.

yup, I felt kinda forced to engage to not be down on stuff plus losing control of mid, and therefore losing the city. But, yea ideally, Jess in this matchup wants to save up a good number of vehicles and wreck havoc with SCOP

I typically choose not to respond until after the capture has already started so I can get the extra turn(s) of production before the fight begins. fluhfie is a coward who doesn't like going in until necessarily or is confident in winning.

Lol, that is def a strat. The drawback is that they might have a better set up for the cap next turn, since they have more stuff, and time to position the stuff. Game is hard :/

Damn good game! I think you definitely could've won that one, you obviously recognize your own mistakes upon rewatching it, but fog just makes it so difficult to judge. Also, I'm glad you're highlighting the way Sidewinder defends his units, I feel like too many players even at the highest levels disregard the power of formation... Attacking while maintaining a good defense is so underrated, usually because powers or day to day abilities in higher tiers are so overpowered.

Spoilers Great match Humita! I honestly think you had it way closer than you gave yourself credit for, especially starting Day 18 I would have argued you were ahead. (Easy for us to know that looking back of course XD) I won't lie I got scared when the neo only moved back one space into the forest with the bomber on the way, imo that was where the match started to go downhill? Honestly though i also wouldnt have thought he'd be able to cover the bomber as well as he did when you had an AA right next to the neo XD

Probably could’ve kept going, but being behind against Adder just didn’t feel good, plus I had no answer to that bomber until like 3 turns from then, plus being so frustrated, I’d have to wish for them to blunder pretty bigly which is a tough ask from a top player :/

Interesting match and great video! I'm a fog player myself so this replay stuff is awesome to learn from mistakes with. Thanks for the Replay Viewer link. This replay stuff is something I never knew I was missing 20yrs ago. After losing a match I would've loved to see what my friends were doing in the fog.

I think that this map should allow the lander to drop infantry onto the mid mountains but only one, so the player has to decide in between a mid infantry or the double drop.

that is def an interesting thought, but it would mean the mid would be really easy to reinforce, and it would drastically change the early cap phase

@@humita.channel Cool! I would have never guessed. Argentina? If you would live closer I would have been able to invite you for a couple days to play locally. Multiple DS'ses with Dual Strike or Dark Conflict, or play Black hole rising on the big screen with a Gameboy Player. Or... Dual Strike on the big screen with the Wii U. All great ways to play Advance Wars.
