Hi Sledge, I think it would be interesting to do something with people who only play casual such as myself. For lower skill levels it may not be enjoyable but I’m sitting around 1800-2k mmr typically in casual and don’t play ranked! Just an idea 🤔

Hey Sledge,if you want to minimize all of these toxic commenters your best bet is to choose 1v1 ranks.

@@estunpul Most of the challenges involve 2v2 so it doesnt really make sense to use a mode with a completely different playstyle and skill set. Not to mention how varied 1v1 ranks are. Most times when someone refers to their rank in RL they mean the team modes.

Imagine having a rank advantage and a ping advantage and only winning by a goal. I'm impressed. a champ and a c3 player should be able to beat fairly consistently the diamond ranked players they claimed to be even at a ping disadavantage provided their ping isn't 200... That being said, when the time came to "put up or shut up" they folded real quick to the NA servers. Not too confident much?

@Simon Ghost Riley That's a great question. For me, I normally keep it bound. Sometimes, when it's sweaty I accidentally hit it and get completely out of whack. I should really unbind it and make use of the button for something else. Maybe to see the scoreboard, then I could use left and right air roll since I currently use R1/RB for the scoreboard.

Making better decisions beats someone who’s more skilled most of the time. How do teams that look worse on paper in other sports beat better teams? They understand a game plan and execute it to beat teams with more skilled players. Same thing goes for Rocket League.

Its funny how arrogant ball chasing aerial players cannot understand how somebody is the same rank as they are, if they cannot aerial as well as these dudes can. Do these tryhards not know that there is diffrent playing styles, that some rotate much better, go for aerial saves and in right opportunity goes for shot in goal, so their also in diamond, while they cannot do the flip reset stuff, so this compensates in the ranks, so maybe the reason these tryhards never rank up is, because they think ball chasing and aerials are everything you need in Rocket League, when they will blame their teamate, while they dont take part in defense themselves.

I will admit that it can be easy to claim people are bad for their rank, but playing them is different and you usually don't find your mistakes as easily when you're playing vs watching someone play and finding their mistakes.

Donair and hoax move around oddly, but do rotate in champ manor. It's not clean, but those guys attacking ppl in videos miss very small details. It's like in those road to ssl series pros do. You see the "those aren't (insert rank here). I'm so much better....." when in reality pro/former pros even restricting their mechanics still have habits that make them better. Leth actively has to try to miss and such. Perfect positioning is really hard to play against at lower ranks and can make most diamonds look silver. Also, plenty of Champs can't aerial. But they terrorize with shooting, control, or defensive positioning. Just because someone doesn't play how you feel they should doesn't make them worse.

So the reason as to people calling plats trash is because of this simple reason. Every rank has a 'play style' not every player uses it but a lot adapt to it after getting out of plat and into diamond or out of gold to plat. im sure you might notice that they're 'bad' which they arent, its simply because of the playstyle. prove me wrong on this but if you ask any pro player/pro coach they would say playstyle and mindset is the key thing you 90% only need that. some may say you need just mechanics which isnt true at all, so if you're stuck in plat or any rank take this advice: look at people in a higher rank than you by 1 or 2 ranks, and watch how they play, if you do that slowly implement that stuff into your games. or save your replays and watch over it to see what you did wrong AND how to improve. Hopefully those tips helped

the truth is too is that you can get good through any way of playing or any wierd keybinds, aslong as they work for you and its what you practice on you could even use inverted controls and buttons, my friend that i play with alot managed to hit champ 3 with a peak of low gc1 with barely any ball cam because he just never learned to use ball cam so he always stayed on car cam, just goes to show that no matter what keybinds you use your rank is what it is

I always find it hilarious when people boast about their mechanics, yet complain about their rank as it's a massive self-own... If you're stuck in Plat and able to do triple flip resets, then that just means your game sense is that of a silver. You don't need mechanics to rank up all the time. I'm C1 in 2's & 3's and can barely aerial and can't speed flip properly 😂

I don't get why so many people get cocky for no reason on this game just because they think they're super good for their rank, while they're just as average as everyone else at their rank. They're also assuming that rank is only determined by your advanced mechanics or aerial control, when it's way more complicated than that. Positioning, boost management, game sense, rotations, car control basics, adapting your speed to the situation and team mates, avoiding to overcomit, fast repositioning, shot accuracy: all these elements are more important than just being able to fly to a ball in the air (especially without a clear intention and touch accuracy). There's no such thing as "not deserving your rank", except when you're completely being carried by your team mate(s) games after games, missing a lot of balls and being outplayed all the time. Just one bad game from time to time doesn't mean you're bad, we all have our days or ups and downs during games. I was pretty close from hitting GC2 last season, yet I've always found myself not "that good" for my rank (not feeling like being a fraud, but surprised to be able to get that high with how I'm perceiving my own "level/skill"). I think the whole problem with all this is how people take the right to juge others too quickly based on one game or a video, when most of us know that watching a game makes it look super slow and "easy" because you don't have to focus, play and adapt all at the same time. People are not "bad" on replays, you just have more time and information they don't have to analyze what's going on and you don't have to make decisions. TL;DR: Stop judging others based on one game or a replay. You're at your rank because you belong there and you definitely don't "deserve" to be higher except when you'll be better.

10:05 they're massively exaggerating how bad USE is for EU players. My internet isn't the most stable, so even though I got as low as 15 ping in EU, I'd have spikes of 70 ping that were significantly worse to play than any USE lobby I've played. Their ping on the EU server also suggests that they're probably from MENA.

I'm literally the best Diamond 2, I can't believe NA Champs are this bad. These champs are like plat 3s on my servers. I literally watched so many of these kind of videos and the "Guess the rank" videos, and the Champs and Diamonds on NA suck. Because In my experience as a low dia/high plat, I sometimes win over champs with great mechanics but bad game awareness / they overcommit too much, and sometimes I lose to players with lower mechanical skill than me

Damn, I love champs so much. I just hit GC this last season for the first time and let me say, all of us are dogshit at this game. Completely and utterly dogshit. SSLs and maybe GC3 are the only players I would even consider decent. They still make mistakes. I still make sooo many mistakes and miss easy aerials. I ranked up to champ in 75 hours. It took me over 1000 to reach GC. Champ especially is full of complete differences in skill. It’s the start of where I believe you can actually see very visible differences in each rank.

I’ve been playing since this game released. I’ve been to champ 1, but I mostly hang out between platinum and Diamond. I don’t do training or anything like that. Never have. Is there a possibility that they claimed to be a rank, then between their claim and your video they increased their rank? For example, I responded to a poll a few weeks ago about my rank and said I was c1, and between that time and this video I have increased in rank.

love the video sledge keep up the good work :). I hope one day ill be able to participate in one of these videos because I still think that OCE champs r better than eu or na champs. My reasons for why i think this is because na and eu have a bigger playerbase than oce making the variety of champs in eu or na close to p3 all the way to c3 skill wise making a varied number of boosted players end up in champ compared to oce. Due to Oce having a smaller player base the matchmaking system can more accurately matches players against their level. my second reason is that eu and na champs just look so bad at the game :)

LMAO mystic and Kura talk so much smack and they can’t back it up AT ALL. The fact that the game was neck and neck despite kura having significantly better ping, their opponents are lower rank ONLY using car cam is so funny. I think kura and mystic would honestly have a fair game against some D3s in EU. If anyone doesn’t deserve their rank it’s kura and mystic

I do sometimes be confused about champs being bad, but I think it's always champ 1's and 2's that the youtubers pick because they are like...3 times more common than champ 3's. Even though a champ 3 is way better than champ 1 and 2.

Champ 3s are just Champ 2s on good day. The differences between single ranks are almost immeasurable and often just come down to a little more consistency (which you can't really show in a video)

@@Rocket_Sledge Hello, I'm afraid I'd have to disagree. The differences between champion 2 and high champion 3 is rather large. This being due to the defense and general game speed in champion 3 being way better/faster. Though, I'm willing to admit that I very much might be biased in my opinion on this, and that mistakes are way easier to be picked up when you aren't playing yourself. I think that most people that complain about bad players have never watched a replay on their own, in which they will probably see that they too, make way too much mistakes. Edit: I am very much willing to prove my point by doing a 1v1 with a champion 2 or champion 1 to show the difference. I'm champion 3 at my peak though have reached GC a few seasons ago.

@@henkjandekker2807 I've done statistical comparisons between ranks before. For example: the difference in average game speed between a C1 and GC1 was only 1.5 mph. Taking that into account you can understand why I would say both measurable and visual differences between *single* ranks is pretty much undetectable. Especially in video form were at most you are seeing 10 minutes of footage from that player. You proposal highlights another issue. 1v1 is a completely different playlist and skill set. And most video participants and topics center around the team mode. Unless you are suggesting a Champ 3 ONEvONE player vs a Champ 2, this really wont prove anything. Though no one in these debates is usually talking about 1v1s anyways.
