Back in 2018, players such as Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna Jr., Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Fernando Tatis Jr. were consistently seen as top 10 prospects lists, if not top 5. Washington Nationals prospect Victor Robles was often seen alongside them. While those players became stars, Robles' never quite reached his full potential. So, what happened?

So far as a mariner, in 22 games/ 38 PAs, his slash line is 355/444/581. 1.025 OPS, which is the best on the team ATM. (okay, miniscule sample size I know, but it'd be hilarious if Seattle of all places is where he puts it all together, and as a fan he's been a welcome sight considering how cold the rest of our bats are)

@@SportStorm23 this current mariners era has developed a "fittingly weird" trend of bringing in power bats that decline here (Jesse Winker, teoscar Hernandez, all 3 2B we've traded for since 2021), while somehow fixing up struggling guys out of nowhere (Eugenio Suarez, Josh Rojas, and maybe now this guy).

Since being picked up in June by Seattle, he’s contributed in several games here & there. As a backup OF he add some depth but recently he should get more playing time than Mitch Haniger who’s been disappointing. update on his mariners tenure: after 42 games with a slash line of 303/372/450 (good for an OPS of over 820), and *excellent* defense which has been hugely appreciated with julio rodriguez out with an injury for the past 3 weeks, victor robles has officially signed a two-year contract extension with seattle for just under $10 million, with $2 million in bonuses, and a $9 million team option for 2027. so... yeah, pretty good season for a guy who started out fighting just to stay in MLB!
