I initially thought this plugin would automatically generate and input the notes and chords, similar to a few other plugins I use. However, I realized you have to manually place the notes yourself and then drag them. While that's ok for smaller samples, it becomes challenging and time-consuming when working on complex arrangements. For example, if I'm trying to arrange a 100-piece string orchestra, manually inputting each note can be overwhelming. I do like the plugin, but I think adding an auto-populate feature in a future update would be incredibly helpful. Not everyone wants to spend a lot of time placing each note individually, especially when working with large-scale arrangements. Just my thoughts.

It would be super badass if it zoomed in like you could do with the first version of Izotooe RX. Is was using this plugin for the first time earlier and first thing I did was instinctively try to zoom in on what had been captured. It also needs to be able to change the range and gain after you have captured. I didnt like that you have to reset and tweak then record again if you cant see it. Im sure they will imorove on it. Seems like this would be a huge want from alot of people.

Very interesting. The cool thing is that you can choose and transpose the notes yourself. In similar plug-ins it is necessary to delete unnecessary after transferring MIDI, but in this plug-in it is necessary to be able to select the necessary. It is clear that today it is impossible to 100% determine the notes in tracks and even samples, because there are harmonics from FX. So good for them for doing this, but I've seen it somewhere.

Honest and fair quick review. Tried it and disliked how things turned out for any sample that is even the slightest bit complex. Also if say using the plugin on a record sample or anything a tad bit dirty...it's impossible to even see the notes esp with no zoom feature. So unless working with very simplistic extremely clear "loops" from like Splice/similar or whatever...than this may not be for you. Atleast I gave it a few hours of testing and trying things and not trying to be some hater, it's just not correct for my needs at the moment. If was able to snag the notes easily from a melodic record sample... than sure, would be a fast way to help build the beat around the sample. Maybe in time and or with updates this will get better and it becomes a beast. I do hope so and definitely wish the best. Also I do recommend every try, don't take my word for it as my workflow may be the exact opposite of yours. My opinion is nothing when comes to how you do music. Give the plug-in a shot and may be exactly what wanted and helpful for your situation! Can't hurt to try out free!! I love this channel and not trying to sway anyone away from the purchase. I just had to give a idea of my experience so people don't rush to purchase without seeing if is wonderful for their needs.
@mostasteless97983 ай бұрын
What you desceibed with the complex samoles is what I experienced with a 16th note heavy guitar loop. Using Note Grabber did get me in the ballpark far more than Ableton's own converter and I was able to draw in midi notes close but still..i guess rhe distortion makes the notes blend togrther in the image no matter what gain or range I chose. Maybe if there is a zoom feature added it could help but not sure. Srill good that it shows the notes when you hiver over them.
@Struts71320 күн бұрын

Such a handy tool man ! I've already bought it and fiddling with it. One suggestion for a future update: What if we could mass select the notes we want and it transcribed them? Not based on a sound based algo that would turn it to something like the rest of the transcribing tools available, but based on the image? Like, focus on the bright areas of our selection and transcrivbe note value and length and we could select the minimum level of brightness below which (or if your sample has percussion maybe even above which) everything should be ignored. I imagine it as something to have along with manual highlighting, as it wouldn't be 100% accurate like virtually all algorithms.

You should be marketing this as a Mixed in key Studio Edition killer. On the main output it shows exactly what is playing unlike Mixed in key. This is a great analysis tool. It also works with kick drums to show the fundamental so would be good for all those kick drum tuning fanatics. This needs some work but with v2 etc you could have a very successful product on your hands. You need to be able to zoom in and have lower notes on the keyboard. A threshold knob to exclude unwanted note information. A select all notes with right click to export midi. Good luck.

I asked on reddit about 2 years ago if they know about such a plugin but as a reply a got half of them insulting me and telling me to learn music theory and the other half telling me to get melodyne with the polyphony feature which is quite expensive and not perfecft imo. I found samplab after a while but it's just a cheap quick fix. But notegrabber actually looks like the tool that I have been imagining back then. Thanks for making it!! Yeah man, but for quick idea dumping, etc....this might be really helpfu

@@hands_media In the video, he only used it a to copy a few notes. It would literally be faster clicking on the piano roll than opening the plugin. Even if you suck, it may still be faster. It's not like y'll are sampling difficult music or long samples anyway.

@@Veridi Ok, well sometimes I do mess with older, long samples and this would be useful, but to each their own.

Tried to download the demo a few times, no email arrives, it's also annoying when developers don't include system requirements, your DAW or OS could be a few version too old for the plugin, but you usually have to give away personal details, download stuff, install it, to find out whether it works on your system. EDIT: found a download page on your website, nice plugin, impossibly small interface, very fiddly to draw in any more than a few notes, no way to zoom in, so you're trying to paint 1 or 2 pixel high notes, which inevitably means you'll make mistakes and there's no (obvious) was to either undo a mistake or delete a wrong note, so with complicated passages it turns into a bit of a mess . . . . great idea, but badly in need of a decent UI.

This is so dope!! I'm seconding Jaunti with the zoom capability. It would also be cool to do a light mode and/or have the keys stretch across the black space of the gui so the pure black won't fatigue your eyes as hard (as pure black/white contrast is known to). Something like #252525 on the hex code or the like

Awesome idea and from my testing it works quite well! One thing though: why is it necessary to draw in each note as opposed to the plugin taking an educated guess and instantly showing all the notes? Seems like it wouldn't be very difficult to implement. Either way I'm using this to learn songs and it will be a huge help.
@NavieD4 ай бұрын
Great question. The 'educated guess' part would require the plugin to use an algorithm to figure this out. And this is where every other plugin ends up sucking, because the algorithm is never accurate and makes up stuff. So I wanted to build this differently. While it is more 'manual', it puts the power in the producers hands and is far more accurate because of it
@louismaiden83604 ай бұрын
@@NavieD Makes sense! The only other thing I thought would be useful is if when you input a note, it played the pitch (something simple like a sine wave or piano sound). Would make workflow much easier!

Looks great. I think i will buy it as soon as i get back from vacation in 3 weeks. In my last beats i tried to sample some old songs but always had trouble to find the bpm since the songs werent completely on grid. Can you make a plugin to fix the grid for old samples pls?😅

Already used it for this application: -Stem the song -Snatch melody or whatever -Let note grabber analyze it -Use the midi information to swap sounds Your welcome Navi for your next video topic 😉

dope. can you drop a video on how to install it
@askod4204 ай бұрын
aww I thought it was gonna be something that can isolate the individual notes and allows you to, for example, change the melody. but it's just a transcription tool, right? still pretty cool
@NavieD4 ай бұрын
You are correct. It doesn't let you change the actual melody in the sample or anything like that.
