As Marc Goone went through how the villain was likely to play in these situations my thought was basically "that is _exactly_ how I would play." Just to be clear, I'd be playing how Marc is saying the villain is playing, not the hero. Marc would exploit the s**t out of me.

Marc can you help explain how EV is generated throughout the hand. I know we make each street decision without considering sunk costs but in the 76s you invested $350 and are only hoping to generate $55 in EV on the river through a $250 river bet. If we are betting a size on the turn to get called so we can bluff off the river it seems as though we are “donating” the turn bet and betting to win less than that in EV on the river.
@hungryhorsepokerСағат бұрын
ev is calculated independently for each decision. we can only compare it to other alternatives at that time. if ev is bluffing is we win $55, but ev of checking is we win 0, then bluffing is better. turn ev should only be compared to turn ev.

Remember you can bet bigger if your opponent is calling big bets like they would call small bets

Love the strats. I assume you know a decent percentage of your audience is playing less deep because of what casinos/poker rooms have sometimes. Are there modifications you'd make for lower SPR? In general slightly lower turn sizes sometimes to leave a big bet on the river if you need to bluff? More aggressive with value because people call down?
@hungryhorsepoker2 сағат бұрын
talked about this a lot in other vids. when less deep, don’t run the airball bluffs - let equity drive them. don’t try to get top pair to fold. go thinner for value w larger sizes.

Marc, how can the large OOP XR be utilized in smaller stake games where stacks are shallower? For example, in a 1/3 game where regular open size is 15 so it plays like a 2/5 but most players have 300-500 chips in their stack. It feels harder to utilize and have bluffs with when you make them put 60-70% of their stack in on the flop. Love the vids, keep em coming!

2 streets
@hungryhorsepokerСағат бұрын
yep 2 streets. never xr to 60% of eff stack. keep it under 1/3.
@Lyqu1dСағат бұрын
the large XR is just to reduce the SPR when deep, if the SPR is already low just craft your bet sizes for an SPR of 1 on the turn or river depending on stack sizes and opponent type

Hey Marc due to my states limitations the most common game my casinos have is 2/100 SL with 10% rake up to $5 +$2 for jackpots. Is this beatable or just a rake trap not worth it in the long run?
