Pete. Hand #2. I think one of the additional reasons solver would 3b flop with AxQs is that you can get called by nut flush draws. You'll also sometimes get jammed on sure. But When villain has nfd and calls, AxQs is ahead of it, dominates it, holds one of its outs, and theoretically wins every so often when future streets check down. Ive seen this pattern of solver aggressing with AKo/AQo while having the K/Q of the flush card suit in multiple spots.

Very "tekky" spot. Slight shifts in how he plays the sets pre or even AK & His XR range going to move this combo either way. It's likely ~indifferent at equil and think the Qs could overperform in reality as he probably isn't xr'ing KQs (alot) but if he's calling more AKo pre (which is a much more likely XR imo) then again... The equil shifts. Hes likely not finding the weak pair XR or the 33, 44 but it's conceivable that he could mix a ton of FDs for xr, perhaps knowing he doesn't oR 22. Hence why it's tricky as its doubtful he has a firm grasp of his specific range w/ regards to value /bluff ratios, specifically the sets in his range (perhaps he opens more small PPs w/ recreationals at the table developing flatting ranges IP or w/e the case may be. Point being, specifically w/ the low interaction on the board, these small PP sets are going to shift the Equilibrium quite considerably and it's hard to ascertain his strategy w/ FDs but I think on Khi boards, players, (the HJ) are going to be more passive than equil in general and we can safely assume he doesn't find enough mergy raises to discourage IP just 3b/gii w/ all his Kx indiscriminately so I think the momentum shifts towards call in that regards but there's lots of conflicting factors at play imo. I guess if it feels close, it's probably ~indifferent in reality and can't fault a tight fold. Visibility probably isn't great anyway. Even when we turn a FD, it's quite conceivable he sizes too large. Then again, maybe he mixes in some X on FC turn (when it's probably closer to RB) I like the heuristic of mixing in 3b w/ these high card combos unblocking the NFD but I think the fact his best TP is condensed around KQs disencentivizes the Qs slightly but in reality, again, probably better w/o the presence/prevelence of KQs xr. Interesting spot.

there's minimal difference between NL25 and NL50, you will see a bigger difference in skill when you move up to 100NL/200NL, if you can beat NL25 you can bet NL50 at least this is the case on GG
@derekluna7700
@derekluna7700 Жыл бұрын
@@dariomladenovski7047 That's interesting. On global poker I was crushing 20NL and the day I put a day's worth of volume at 50NL I was punting. There are certainly many bet sizing considerations of flops and turns (and some pot size and overbets on river), as well as making sure to continue a bit weaker hands on certain board textures to not get run over. But I adjusted very quickly. I would say 200NL plays extremely fast, but if you make sure to balance bluffing,semi-bluffing with the bottom of your range pre and post flop it is definitely possible to breakeven easily if you have some talent.

Can’t say I agree with giving up on the river with QJ. Pools are over folding across the board to river bets with an inability to meet MDF requirements across all bet sizes in all nodes. Bluffing is negative EV for sure, but I’d say it still has more pot capture than checking. You might get snapped off here, but in the long run, even over folding by 2% is profitable. If you node lock an over fold of 2%, solver would certainly bet all non showdown hands in pure. And then on top of that, to be that selective with your bluffs on the river, you’ll end up missing many opportunities to bluff rivers due to too complex of a thought process and too much projection of what you’d have in your opponent’s shoes. You’ll easily start talking yourself out of bluffs in a pool that is folding too much.

I like that you get through some number of hands here, compared to talking very much about the same hand (of which some of it is just saying the same thing over and over again in a heuristic, trying to be funny kind of way). For instance, Id love to see more hands in the student videos (hauling mauling etc). That's just me tho. I don't know if the other viewers want that, although I guess they do. Anyway. Just another thought after seeing the last hand on the river. Doesn't your equity framework for value betting kind of fail in nodes like this where villain is meant to seriously over fold to a bet? Like KJ is a jam, not arguing there, but a hand like JJ has 85-90% equity in my sim when checked to yet it is pure checking because villains line is primarily give ups and he is meant to fold around 80% of his range to a less than pot size jam
@CarrotCornerPoker
@CarrotCornerPoker Жыл бұрын
Yep, there are definitely exceptions to the Tier System as we call it, but it's great in 96% of spots. We do need to look out for nodes where Villain is very polarised though and adjust it

Why can't we bet 12-15bb at 17:00 mark to target 88-TT?
@CarrotCornerPoker
@CarrotCornerPoker Жыл бұрын
Because there is no reason to arbitrarily play against a tiny part of Villain's range especially since these hands usually won't get here, but even if they did there's no reason to take a line simply because you like it against those hands alone. Targeting is such a horrible disease of a thought process. It's not your fault that you've been infected by it but yeah, it's the worst.
@epikouros93
@epikouros93 Жыл бұрын
17:54 When you say that is terrible to bet the river do you mean on practice and/or reality is terrible??? I am saying that because the solver want to use tiny bets or Check on the river. The 10%pot size is used with the whole range actually...and AA bets 10% on a frequency. Apparently the EV of Checking is = EV of blockbetting on the GTO land. In practice if population can't find raise bluffs on the river ,then i guess Checking is mutch superior! Great content btw! Keep pushing!
@CarrotCornerPoker
@CarrotCornerPoker Жыл бұрын
I mean if you use 10% pot it's so close to checking that I don't mind at all, but yeah, don't bet any meaningfully big size. That would be horrible both theoretically and practically.
@epikouros93
@epikouros93 Жыл бұрын
@@CarrotCornerPoker I would say that 10% bet is a meaningfully bet by any means. . Actually, i think that some theoritical concepts behind tiny bets on the river ,can expand the horizontal of the poker theory. I can imagine some concepts behind that. 1) There are hands that want/can value bet thin enough on the river 2)Some hi EQ hands , gain more EV by getting raised 3)If the calling range of villain is blocked heavily( like that example AA,block top pairs)
