GL Mikel would just recommend playing more and gaining experience 25NL is very beatable on stars pool is quite nitty post flop. People will also overcall your 3bet and under 4bet. This is just a nugget of information for you 😃

Hand 1 (AsAh): If villain's range is polarised (can you have three poles?) then why would we check-raise if they bet small? In any case, solvers have taught us that villain should never bet small when we check river. Players may do it but the optimal line can't rely on a mistake. Just block-betting the river ourselves loses a bit of value when they have a good flush but hoovers up far more from weaker hands.

Hey Mikel, Thanks for this session. If you need some good free Preflop GTO ranges just let me know. The last hand (22) you can bluff it with your specific hand on the river when the board is extremely wet. If the fish has an very high VPIP and is big bet size is somewhat the standard i would also call the flop

As played 22 has about 50% equity on the river. Too much to bluff with and not enough to value bet with.

How do people feel about bluff check raising the pocket 2s. That 7 high board seems like it hits us more that the opponent and we have the flush blocker (as much as a 2 ever can be). I think that line would look a lot like a set all of which we have in range and we also have more flush draws if another diamond hits. If the opponent continues or plays back easy fold and we deny equity and avoid getting bluffed off. May be not against big bet as we have here but at a low frequency I think this could be profitable.

Not enough info to give a you a solid answer so I’ll input my own… If you know the player is a capable reg then bluff raising 22 on a board that in theory should be better for us is torching money. Villain being a capable reg would also constitute him having the same understanding that you’re trying to capitalize on. If villain bets that board with the same theory you are using then he should be very strong. If villain isn’t a capable reg and calls your raise you are forced to give up turn on most cards in the deck anyway. 647dd connects with so many hands. 56s, 78s, 910 has a gutter, flush draws over plus open ended etc. most people, capable reg or not will peel drawing to the nuts/second nuts. There are not many brick turns to barrel. All around losing check raise.

Your value range is tiny so it would be easy to overbluff here. I think 22 has enough showdown value and you should bluff with jack-high type hands.

I am from Germany as well, here we can only play 4 tables at a time. So I assume kevin plays fast fold tables most of the time. I heard that he plays on Partypoker but I found that everyone is fckn nitty there since you cant use Hud. Are there fast fold games running on Bet online? I am planning to play on there since it it the only non german-regulated, ok-raked, Hud-allowed site here.

at carrot from a 100nl player, i think the 20:40 is exploit so good we can do it with JJ TT even Q8. so not doing it with 77 is a punt. in live some people fold 2 pair vs this for sure. i think with 22 at 24:20 we should definitely bet huge turn jam river hes just not got enough calls.

Only complaint about this series is that the editor needs to show the pre-flop action. I can usually figure out what happened but on eg the 77 hand there's like a second to notice that hero raises to 5BB UTG and button calls before it goes to the flop. Otherwise this is great content and I always learn something new.

11:10 I prefer a pot sized 3b on the turn, villain is under checking flush draws on the flop. Villain's sizing is linear and indicative of a 'protection check back river' raise. Villain is capped at one pair, even AsJx is betting flop at some frequency. So best hand villain has with a spade at a high frequency is QsJx. I'd follow through on all rivers as well

If villain is under chequing FD on the flop this is a good plan... but that is a very big "If", i for one would be chequing all my FD on that low connected board .

question about first hand: H has many bluffs here (AQo KQo KJo...). as the oop player i really expect IP to overbluff here so ill overcall any pairs. therefore in your thinking process should you consider V's player type before overbluffing with any 2 broadways ?

Can hero have tons of worse hands than A5 or 33 that raise river for value? A5>65s>33 (1 combo max), A5,33>54s but what other non-boat 5x does hero have (maybe K5s once in a blue moon). Hero never has a straight, so only other raises are A6s maybe? Not saying that in practise this means V won't jam A5s or 33, but I think it's a lot thinner than it intuitively looks at first glance

really interesting hand. Being low stakes, i think the only combos are: 3combos AA, 1 combo A5s, 1 combo 33, and 1 combo 55, 0 combo of bluffs and merges. So in my mind it is clearly a fold, an exploitative, ultra mega rare hero fold.

Yeah you missed 55 ... Still ... TRUE EV I guess we all need to say that on NL20 people will merge 5x all over the place. If you play against a highly capable player, okay, be my guest. I think the most true EV view on the topic is the amount of merge. Pete touched briefly on that. I think its very likely that K5s exists 2 times. Also, we do not know if we can rule out A5o so heavily. We have the definition of a value beater and you should only fold with a very very exploitative case - and even then we may be WRONG by folding. If you fold here, you basically only call quad fives. This could be okay for the spot. I think the biggest learning from the hand that the small raise on the river does not make much sense. The true EV line here is jam. You can get called by worse but you do not want to get jammed on. The "mode of investment" for the biggest part of our opponents range (5x, Ax) is by calling. Maybe sometimes a guy can not fold top pair. Just JAM on the bet yourself. We would never spoken about the spot. You have like 95% equity. Just put it in and we are all good.
