Cosmetic injections, like dermal filler and botox, were once the domain of the rich and famous. Now they're mainstream medical procedures. But missing in the glamorous advertising are the rare but real risks, as Emily Baker and Emily Jane Smith report.

We all have a choice. We can choose to focus on the superficial and be vain or choose to put our time and energy into achieving goals that serves to contribute to society. I know of many wonderful women who put little effort in their looks, but still look presentable, and are always busy helping others, and in turn, live very fulfilling lives. Loved by many where warm hugs are exchanged, in contrast to those insecure influences, who have a large following (in numbers only) but are lonely, sad and have no one around to hug. The mirror and camera is lifeless and cold.

Yeah- I was seriously considering it- I would still get it potentially for migraines(completely different) if that is going to be possible but it is so expensive & might not be helpful anyway. However I was very seriously considering it for cosmetics & may have even accidentally convinced some of my friends through my musings 🙄. BUT now I've realized that actually it is throwing money & time & effort into a fire because it won't actually make me feel prettier or anything & that aging is okay with me actually. It is the pressure from the outside that makes me want it, but yeah, I get horrible chronic migraines & if it actually made it worse... I would absolutely unalive myself- so why take such risks? And exactly- I won't think that I look perfect & amazing if it works as it is supposed to- I will think I should get something else done. No. I'm not going down that path.

@roohana
@roohana Жыл бұрын
Women have always done dangerous things to themselves for sake of beauty. It's not just a modern day illness bc of social media. Blame our biology. In China they bound baby girls' feet to stop them from growing: In Elizabethan era women used mercury (poisonous substance) to whiten their skin; then there was a long era of women wearing tight corsets that made them pass out from lack of air, and the list goes on and on. Women have always taken risks for beauty and nothing will stop them. If you want to get to the root of problem you'll need to fix female biology. Good luck with that!

If you want to stop wrinkles to develope early, botox can make the progress slower. The women and men who starts to use botox in an early age and continue doing so wont have as much wrinkles when they get older. We live in a society where wrinkles are considered ugly.
@teoleno4019

That is not true nonni. Fillers will make make your muscles atrofe and they will eventualy stop working. Also fillers don't stay in one place, they will shift around you face and last after 10 years, can also harden up like the woman had in the video.
@MaryDzohara
@MaryDzohara Жыл бұрын
@nonni139 yes, but by the time they are 50 or 60 their faces will look like aliens. To start getting botox when you are in your late 30s when the first lines appear us one thing, buy to do it so young, to pretend some kind of beauty is kind of sad. Young poeple should be working on their personalities, having a few degrees and be smart instead of just trying to look "pretty". I blame it all in social media and it's fake beauty (people full of filters) who set those high stupid expectations. Regards
@alexialira3839
@alexialira3839 Жыл бұрын
@nonni139 I don't think you can prove that. You can get Botox and look younger, however you don't know if it was because your genetics already were in your favor to begin with and it wasn't the Botox. My sister is almost 38....they think she's in her early 20s. She didn't even start using moisturizer until she was 35.💀 Had she had Botox earlier, we'd think it was the Botox keeping her looking young, but nope. Besides, I've found that most people look older with fillers and Botox. Defeats its purpose.

When you are young fresh and beautiful you need to embrace and enjoy it I understand older women that want to freshen up a little but definitely not teens and you women doing too much too soon. The scary part is that nobody knows how these women will age and what will happen to their faces as they enter their 40’s 50’s and beyond you cannot reverse this! We need to step back to see the bigger picture. Why are women doing this to themselves? We know why, but that should be the topic of discussion. It's so b.s the expectations women have.
@alexialira3839
@alexialira3839 Жыл бұрын
The reason why is because women are competitive creatures with other women. And it doesn't even necessarily have to involve competition to snag a man/men. Some also like being on trend. They see women on social media doing it, they want to keep up, get attention in general like they do, and so they do it too. They might see it as a status symbol too. Like the whole bbl trend with the Kardashians. It exploded when the Kardashians came into the picture. It's women vs other women and themselves. In the end, it's what they chose to do. They're grown women, not children, not victims.

I must say Mitch Greer looks amazing. I can Always see when people have botox around their eyes or lip filler. Very few practitioners get the eyes to match the lower half of the face. The eyes always look younger than the mouth. And as for lip fillers...Mitch's look so natural. She's probably had her naso-labial folds dine and perhaps around her chin as well? It looks so natural it's difficult to tell. Usually I can spot lip filler a mile away. I'd say the ghastly Kardashians are the only ones who've kept their lip fillers natural looking although I know nothing about them is natural. It's important to get a very good doctor for these procedures is all i can say.

It is sad that these women feel they need enhancements, look at the history of medical treatments / pharmaceuticals prescribed to women ‘ to feel better ‘ - Premarin hormone replacement ( prevented wrinkles, but gave Women Ovarian Cancer and Breast Cancer. ) And sentenced more than 80,000.00 horses to have lesions in their bladders from the urine catchment mechanisms, these pregnant mares, unable to take a few steps, unable to even turn around in their tiny stalls. Pregnant again and again for 12 years, until they were worn out. ( All their foals sent to slaughter houses, then the worn out mares sent to slaughter houses too. ) Big drug companies now using facilities in China to take urine from horses. Because it is cheaper, how do these drug company executives sleep at night ??

The old “social media made me do it” is a flimsy excuse for these people’s unadulterated vanity. I’m personally not going to lose any sleep if someone goes blind because they got backyard botox.

My ex has fake boobs for the second time (the only procedure i liked), fake lips, chin, cheekbone, and forehead injectibles and she now has no choice but to continue this as her face is falling off. A friend up north got an abcess in her cheek and now needs it drained every few weeks, as the bones in her face rotted due to this "awesome" idea and ger face fills up with puss and gunk that looks like earwax mixed with birdshit. When will people wake up? Own what youve got because the real you, is the real you. They made it work in the 70s and 80s so why not now?

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to improve your appearance if you're unhappy with something, especially if you're aware that there are always risks. Why do we continue to shame these girls? Just because these risks became a reality doesn't mean they deserved it.
