Not initially, but the same could be said for Solar to a certain extent. Battery storage would be the biggest required addition of looking for an ‘off grid’ system. I’d view this as a cost reducing exercise in the UK. Buy cheap electric overnight on a TOU tariff and sell back the energy from The turbine throughout the day.

Do not be misinformed. I have purchased one and it consists of 3 main parts - Inverter (Made in China) , turbine (Made in the USA) and the turbine blades (Made in Germany) . So it is not correct information as - Made in Germany. Also i have had some problems with my turbine, and it is impossible to get help from this company. I am not happy with my purchase . I should have made more research before purchased.
