A most definite backdoor reaction🚪! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to Led Zeppelin before: Stairway To Heaven. Whole Lotta Love was released as the lead single from Led Zeppelin's 1969 album: Led Zeppelin II. It was written by Led Zeppelin and Willie Dixon. It was produced by Jimmy Page. The song reached #2 on the Cash Box 100 and #4 on the Hot 100. I don't know where this live performance music video was filmed from. The song lyrics: "Shake for me girl, I wanna be your backdoor man", is a reference to the "backdoor man" of Blues music cliché. This guy enters and leaves through the back door to avoid detection, as the lady is using him to cheat on her boyfriend or husband. This adds an illicit edge to the storyline 😉. The massive drum sound was the foundation of this track, so Jimmy Page recorded it in the big room at Olympic Studios in London, which had 28-foot ceilings. One of the more intriguing sections of this song comes at the 4-minute mark, where the distant voice of Robert Plant sings each line ("Way down inside... woman... you need... love") before his full-throated vocal comes in. This is known as "backward echo," and one of the first uses of the technique, but it happened by accident: A different take of Plant's vocal bled over to his master vocal track, so when Page and engineer Eddie Kramer mixed the song, they couldn't get rid of it. They did what most creative professionals do with a mistake: they accentuated it to make it sound intentional, adding reverb to it so Robert Plant sounded like he was foreshadowing his lines from afar. Jimmy Page came up with the guitar riff for "Whole Lotta Love" in the summer of 1968, on his houseboat on the River Thames at Pangbourne, Berkshire, England. However, John Paul Jones stated that it probably was developed from a live improvisation during performances of the song: "Dazed and Confused". Jimmy Page denied that the song originated onstage and that he had the riff and the rest took it from there. In 2021, readers of Total Guitar and Guitar World magazines also chose Jimmy Page's riff from this song as their #1 riff of all time. "In 1969, the year Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon, Jimmy Page launched his own giant leap for mankind", Total Guitar wrote in its July 2021 issue. Total Guitar further stated: "Whole Lotta Love guitar figure took just 2.7 seconds to play, but it immediately projected music into another decade. While everyone else was still playing the '60s, Led Zeppelin were now playing the '70s. It wasn't the first great riff, but it is the defining one. It's why riffs became central to guitar music, the reason bands search for the guitar hook that can propel a whole song - or even a whole career". Parts of the song's lyrics were adapted from Willie Dixon's song: "You Need Love", recorded by Muddy Waters in 1962; originally uncredited to Willie Dixon, a lawsuit in 1985 was settled with a payment to Willie Dixon and credit on subsequent releases. Willie Dixon used the settlement money to set up a program providing instruments for schools. Robert Plant's lyrics are based on a 1962 Willie Dixon song 📝: I ain't foolin', you need schoolin' Baby, you know you need coolin' Woman, way down inside Led Zeppelin's song lyrics 📝: You need cooling Baby I'm not fooling I'm gonna send ya Back to schooling A-way down inside In 1989, Spin magazine listed it at #39 on their "100 Greatest Singles of All Time" list. In 1994, it was listed on The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll In 1999, Classic Rock listed it at #30 on their list of "Ten of the Best Songs Ever!.. (Bubbling under)" In 2003, Rolling Stone , the song was ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2005, Q placed "Whole Lotta Love" at number three in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. It was placed 11 on a similar list by Rolling Stone. In 2007, it was honored as a Grammy Award Hall of Fame induction song In 2008, Rolling Stone listed it at #11 of "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time" In 2009, it was named the third greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1. Also, in 2009, VH1 placed it at #46 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Rock Songs of All Time". In 2014, listeners to BBC Radio 2 voted "Whole Lotta Love" as containing the greatest guitar riff of all time. In 2021, Rolling Stone listed it at #128 on their list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". Led Zeppelin Info 📰: Led Zeppelin was an English Rock band formed in London in 1968. Originally named The New Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin signed a record deal with Atlantic Records that gave them considerable artistic freedom. Initially unpopular with music critics, they achieved significant commercial success with eight studio albums over ten years. The group comprised vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. With a heavy, guitar-driven sound, they are cited as one of the progenitors of the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal musical genre, although their style drew from a variety of influences, including Blues and Folk music. The influence of American Blues artists such as Muddy Waters and Skip James was really apparent on the band's first two albums, as was the distinct Country Blues style of singer Howlin' Wolf. Jimmy Page wrote most of Led Zeppelin's music, particularly early in their career, while Robert Plant wrote most of the lyrics. John Paul Jones' keyboard-based compositions later became central to their music, which featured increasing musical experimentation. The latter half of their career saw a series of record-breaking tours that earned the group a reputation for excessive excess and debauchery. Although they remained commercially and critically successful, their touring and output, which included the tours: Presence (1976) and In Through The Out Door (1979), grew limited, and the group disbanded following John Bonham's passing in 1980, feeling that they would not be "Led Zeppelin" without him. Led Zeppelin are one of the best-selling music artists of all time; their total record sales are estimated to be between 200 and 300 million units worldwide. They achieved eight consecutive UK number-one albums and six number-one albums on the US Billboard 200 album chart. They have been awarded five Diamond albums, as well as fourteen Multi-Platinum, four Platinum and one Gold album in the United States, while in the UK they have five Multi-Platinum, six Platinum, one Gold and four Silver albums. Rolling Stone magazine described them as "the heaviest band of all time", "the biggest band of the Seventies", and "unquestionably one of the most enduring bands in Rock history". The band's 1969 debut album: Led Zeppelin, was a top-ten album in several countries and featured songs including: "Good Times Bad Times", "Dazed And Confused" and "Communication Breakdown". The group's second album: Led Zeppelin II (1969), was their first number-one album, and yielded the hit songs: "Ramble On" and "Whole Lotta Love". In 1970, they released the album: Led Zeppelin III, which featured the single: "Immigrant Song". Their untitled fourth album: Led Zeppelin IV (1971), is one of the best-selling albums in history with 37 million copies sold. The album includes the songs: "Black Dog", "Rock And Roll" and "Stairway To Heaven", with the latter being among the most popular and influential works in Rock music history. The band's album: Houses Of The Holy (1973), produced the songs: "The Ocean", "Over The Hills And Far Away" and "The Rain Song". Led Zeppelin's next album: Physical Graffiti (1975), a double album, featured the songs: "Trampled Under Foot" and "Kashmir". Led Zeppelin would release two more albums: Presence (1976) and In Through The Out Door (1979) before breaking up due to the band's drummer: John Bonham's passing in 1980. A December 4, 1980, press statement stated that: "We wish it to be known that the loss of our dear friend, and the deep sense of undivided harmony felt by ourselves and our manager, have led us to decide that we could not continue as we were". The statement was signed simply "Led Zeppelin". The surviving members of Led Zeppelin reunited to play at "Live Aid" in 1985 and employed two drummers: Phil Collins and Tony Thompson, to take John Bonham's place on stage with the band during their performance. In 1982, the Led Zeppelin album: Coda, was released. It was a collection of Led Zeppelin outtakes and unused, unreleased session tracks. The surviving band members would continue on in the music industry releasing solo projects and collaborating with each other and other artists on projects as well. Also, the surviving band members have sporadically collaborated and participated in one-off concerts. The most successful of these was the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London, with John Bonham's son- Jason Bonham, on drums. ***CONTINUING BELOW***

John Bonham's Passing 🙏: On September 24, 1980, John Bonham was picked up by Led Zeppelin assistant Rex King to attend rehearsals at Bray Studios for a tour of North America, to begin on October 17th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During the journey, John Bonham asked to stop for breakfast, where he drank four quadruple vodka screwdrivers. He then continued to drink heavily after arriving at rehearsals. The band stopped rehearsing late in the evening and then went to Jimmy Page's house, the Old Mill House in Clewer, Windsor. After midnight on September 25th, John Bonham fell asleep; someone took him to bed and placed him on his side. Led Zeppelin tour manager Benji LeFevre and John Paul Jones found him unresponsive the next afternoon. John Bonham was later pronounced deceased at 32 years old. John Bonham's remains were cremated and his ashes interred on October 12, 1980, at Rushock Parish church in Worcestershire. The inquest on October 27, 1980, showed that in 24 hours, John Bonham had consumed around 40 shots of 40% ABV vodka, after which he vomited and choked, a condition known as pulmonary aspiration. The finding was accidental death. A post-mortem found no other recreational drugs in John Bonham's body. In June 2017, John Bonham's childhood home received a blue plaque in his honor. John Bonham was ranked no. 1 on Classic Rock's 2005 list of 50 Greatest Drummers in Rock, and Modern Drummer describes him as "the greatest Rock 'n' Roll drummer in history". In 2007, Stylus magazine rated John Bonham number one of 50 great rock drummers, as did Gigwise.com in 2008, and in September 2008, John Bonham topped the Blabbermouth.net's list of "Rockers fans want brought back to life", ahead of Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury. Rhythm magazine voted him the greatest drummer ever, topping a readers' poll to determine the "50 greatest drummers of all time" in October 2009. At the end of the BBC Two series I'm in a Rock 'n' Roll Band! on June 5, 2010, John Bonham was named best drummer of all time. A Rolling Stone reader's drummers poll where John Bonham "led the list by a significant margin" in 2011, and in 2016, the same magazine ranked him as the greatest drummer of all time in a list of 100 Greatest Drummers of all time. According to the Los Angeles Times, even after all these years, John Bonham still ranks as the best drummer of all time, mentioning that "his beat still bangs like a mofo ... Nobody else has brought quite that balance of muscle, groove and showmanship". Honors And Legacy 🏅: They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum's biography of the band states that they were "as influential" during the 1970s as the Beatles were during the 1960s. In 2003, Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list included Led Zeppelin at number 29, Led Zeppelin IV at number 66, Physical Graffiti at number 70, Led Zeppelin II at number 75 and Houses Of The Holy at number 149. And in 2004, on their 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list, Rolling Stone included: "Stairway To Heaven" at number 31, "Whole Lotta Love" at number 75, "Kashmir" at number 140, "Black Dog" at number 294, "Heartbreaker" at number 320 and "Ramble On" at number 433. The band are ranked number one on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and Classic Rock's "50 best live acts of all time". They were named as the best Rock band in a poll by BBC Radio 2. They were awarded an Ivor Novello Award for "Outstanding Contribution to British Music" in 1977, as well as a "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the 42nd Annual Ivor Novello awards ceremony in 1997. The band were honored at the 2008 MOJO Awards with the "Best Live Act" prize for their one-off reunion, and were described as the "greatest rock and roll band of all time". In 2010, Led Zeppelin IV was one of ten classic album covers from British artists commemorated on a UK postage stamp issued by the Royal Mail, unveiled by Jimmy Page. Rolling Stone named Led Zeppelin the 14th-greatest artist of all time in 2004. Among the band's awards are an American Music Award in 2005, and the Polar Music Prize in 2006. The band was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006. Led Zeppelin were the recipient of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and four of their recordings (album Led Zeppelin IV, song "Stairway To Heaven", album Led Zeppelin IV and song "Whole Lotta Love") were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999, 2003, 2004 and 2007 respectively. In 2005, Jimmy Page was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his charity work, and in 2009 Robert Plant was honored as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to popular music. In December 2012, US President Barack Obama honored Led Zeppelin by awarding the band with America's highest cultural award, the Kennedy Center Honors. Led Zeppelin have influenced many Hard Rock and Heavy Metal bands including: Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rush, Queen, Scorpions, Aerosmith, The Black Crowes and Megadeth, as well as progressive Metal bands including: Tool and Dream Theater. They also influenced some early Punk and post-Punk bands including: The Ramones, Joy Division and The Cult. They were also an important influence on the development of Alternative Rock, as bands adapted elements from the "Zeppelin sound" of the mid-1970s, including: The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Led Zeppelin have been credited as significantly impacting the nature of the music industry, particularly in the development of Album-Oriented Rock (AOR) and Stadium Rock.
