This PS3 Hidden Feature was just discovered after all these years

Here's a feature of the PS3 that remained secret for years and was just now discovered! You probably didn't know the Playstation 3 could do this at all.. If you had a PS3 back in the day, you could actually control the particles on the home screen by moving your controller! I still can't believe users didn't notice this easter egg a lot sooner. The Playstation 3 Six Axis controller was capable of motion control, and it wasn't until recently that users discovered you could control the dynamic home screen using the PS3 Controller motion capability! I'm still shocked..

I had a hard time finding new legit controllers. Go to amazon japan and you’ll find many for about $250. Buy one and buy a replacement battery. The batteries in them are so old they won’t work anymore. I had to replace mine it was swollen. They must have been new in the box for more than 10 yrs.

I love the PS3 more than PS4 and PS5. It was more customizable to the user's needs. The newer systems are geared more to ads and clutter with more unuseful stuff. On PS5 I wish there was an option to launch the vanilla boot screen instead of the generic one after initial bootup. That would be a cool trick to find. I wonder if there is a hidden way.

I still have a PS3, and I plan to keep it for years to come. Why that feature went unnoticed for all these years; most likely; is because no one ever thought to shake the controller to move the menu theme particles. Chances are; it was discovered by accident and took so long to be discovered because it is such a small thing that it was most likely overlooked by most of it did happen before.

@@PhoenixxFM i took a long break from gaming and then picked up R2 multiplayer both coop and competitive and played it like crazy 2-3 months before they canceled the multiplayer and I remember coming home from school one day getting online to play it on the day the multiplayer was canceled and gone forever. So much disappointment. They have remastered so many games, uncharted, god of war, final fantasy, ratchet and clank keeps getting new additions, but resistance is just dead. Why can’t they just make one remaster of FOM and 2 man :(

I'm giving a like for PS3 video, for months or more I haven't seen any PS3 video and this one is pretty usefull. Lately I had problem with checking which Dualshock 3 was original and which one was fake so I had to download Flower demo to check if motion controls work to see if they're original or fake. Thanks to this video, I won't have to find a way to check motion controls by downloading game that supports it and getting to part of the game that utilise it. Thanks boss for the video and I hope that, there'll be more PS3 videos.

This feature was implemented in the first infamous game with the lightning strike power. You could control the direction of the lightning strike by the way you move the controller. Had no idea it did anything for the ps3 background tho. Great discovery. 👍🏼👍🏼

Title is a bit misleading, but still a cool thing. Just tried it out on my PS3, and I can see why many people didn't notice this. You have to _really_ aggressively jerk your controller around for not too much movement on screen. Plus it sometimes feels like it's doing the opposite of what you want. Original dualshock 3 sixaxis controller are rare to come by these days. A lot of aftermarket ps3 controller just doesn't have motion control sensor. So a lot ps3 features and games with motion control sensor are hidden or forgotten now.
