THIS PS4 HASN'T BEEN CLEANED IN 3 YEARS - PS4 SLIM TEARDOWN & CLEAN

Some of us have the newer B variant of this slim. That top plate you remove to get to the fan now has plastic posts melted down in to mushroom heads instead of screws like in this video. Just be aware of it and dont panic. I'm sure he'll upload another video showing that model when he has one. Im cleaning one that was used on carpet. Also they had pets. Yikes so much dust in here! Waaaay more than in this video. I opened it out of curiosty rather than it having a problem. It still plays fine and doesnt overheat and isnt noisy. Preventative cleaning in this case. @@rebekah584 you could cut them off carefully with a knife. But you don’t need to. You can access the fan and heat sink through the bottom of the console. This would also allow you to replace the crappy thermal paste that Sony ship these consoles with

@@imJONIJONY Just cleaned a few weeks ago. No dust in the grill from the fan bit, but fan had a few bits which was cleaned. And i’ve added mk6 artic paste on the cpu. And been good ever since.

@@pac329 Not sure if it fits. Some people say T9 works but I haven’t tried it. You can get a T8 bit at most hardware stores though. Just make sure you get the Torx “security” T8 (with the hole in the middle).

See I would’ve tried a full tear down but every week I just spray canned air to rustle up the dust then take my Dyson attachment and suck all the vents the back and side and front and mines whisper quiet but they do tend to run hot that’s usually thermal repaste job I would think and I definitely am not going to go in that much “pause” but I’d take it to a place to get that done

It's called Torx bit or also "Star" bit for a screwdriver. You can buy a set with many different sizes.

I’m late to the party but if you’re talking about the part that was pulled-out after unscrewing the torx T8, that was just the hard drive slot cover. I don’t think you need to unscrew anything to pull it out.

Hi i really need help, yesterday i cleaned my ps4 just cause ik it can build up dust, it didn't sound bad or run slow at all. Now today i powered up my ps4 and as soon as i got to the select user screen my fan was at full speed, my ps4 had never been this loud. Please help me

Haha! Yes! We need " protection ".. actually I got a lot of hate few years ago, when I used to make videos with my dad, check my first YoutTube video and you'll see why. Cutting glass without gloves actually is not a good option, even if you are balkan.

Watching this to see about cleaning my slim for selling, but after popping off the top cover it seems pretty "clean" and i dont want to tear off that sticker..Id rather just clean whats visible and keep the warranty sticker intact since the unit functions fine.

Try much more gentle to take it from the case, make sure all the screws are taken
