Imho the MP-155 with a silencer is not the way to go. I had a lot of success with the MP-153 with a target ring and whatever muzzle device you have available. My strat was to rush crack or dorms if the spawn was good and if not just rush whatever gunfire you hear first; don't go for headtaps or try to be cute by actually playing the game's PVP properly but empty that sucker as quick as you can. Saturating a hall or doorway with Piranha rounds was very effective.

I did the same. The MP-155 is a terrible choice because its firerate will get you killed in close quarters, no idea why J didnt smell the coffee. The silencer is debatable. Shotguns are insanely weak, so a low profile isn't the worst idea.

The BSG team has shown multiple times they have terrible ideas for game design and quests, and it keeps getting worse. They got lucky with the initial Tarkov design, and recently were smart enough to listen to people about recoil/armor, but then something like Arena releases or quests like these and show off the shitty game design.

Tip: get the full mp155 ultima parts, extended tube, and mclaw, load it with some piranhas, and then absolutely dump it as fast as u can when u see someone. It has nearly zero recoil. Got this quest done in about 7 raids, died once.

To anyone struggling, just give Superperformance slugs a go. They are surprisingly accurate, they have NO drop at range (surely a bug) 220 flesh damage, insane bleed chance (30% light, 40% heavy!) and -15 recoil. Put an elcan on your shotty and use it like a dmr. Legs and stomach are easy to hit and I had several of my kills bleed out behind cover.

I waited to do this quest until I unlocked Jaeger Lvl 3 for that sweet, sweet .50 BMG. I got lucky and got 5 kills in a single raid by hanging out in Dorms. Now I just do a couple shotgun runs every session. Slowly whittling away!

i think they really only need to drop it to 8 kills and maybe add an ushanka barter and this quest would be on par with tarkov shooter 3 and stirrup.

I think the problem is that everyone is using piranha which is just shit. I did setup in 7 raids using ftx slugs with a 2x scope and it was a breeze. Ftx 3 taps class 4 in the thorax and you can also kill people from rage fairly easily because of the accuracy bonus which gives you a huge advantage against other shotguns.

Im currently biting my teeth out on punisher 4 on lighthouse, similar experience for me.. 5 minutes to spawn in to get killed at spawn or if you stand still for one second from a sniper... On top of that no scavs are properly spawning for me to kill for the shotgun part of the quest

You need to play around the spawns on Lighthouse better. It's very predictable where people are likely to show up, 1-2 kills per raid is easily achievable.

The PMC kills was the easy part did that in about 5 raids for some reason I had wasn't finding many scavs had to go in a night raid and hunt them down. Honestly thought I would hate the change more than I did

my tip is - use the square choke thing rather than silencer - try diffrent ammo (i tried piranha & BMG no luck but then i tried magnum buck, easier setup progression) - buy 8 round tube

Is this quest as hellish as people say? YES. I stopped actively doing it and just running it when I either get a shotgun from insurance, or find one in raid. I have 9 kills left and it is brutal. I can relate and empathize with every minute of this video

Flechette! I'm doing Setup right now, but I compared piranha to it both in offline and in raids vs pmcs and basically it takes half as many shots to down players, ish. I haven't had these issues of shooting someone 5 times and not killing them so long as I use flechette.

Reason it's harder is that all guns got buffed, apart from shotguns which effectively saw a small nerf. Despite less armour coverage that doesn't make up for other shortcomings making shotguns worse.

maybe its just me but i had a blast doing this quest and really had no problem at all. this was my first time ever doing the quest and using shotguns like this and it only took me about 4-5 raids to complete it

Almost level 40 and haven't attempted it. I think the ammo availability and nerfs to flechette and AP-20 have hit this quest hard. Plus the recoil changes allowing people to actually hit their shots.

Ya ap-20 is locked for most who attempt since it's early. The "new" flechette is now the budget Piranha round but only works at 20 yards or less it seems due to the massive spread. .50 BMG will 1 tap people due to the level 4 pen and sail straight for a good 150 yards so pretty decent to use trying to snipe, however it is a tracer round.

Hard to conceal myself in snowy terrain. Foot step is louder so the target always knows that I’m coming for them. Sum everything up lead to let’s camp in the building. I have juicy position that help me go through this shit.

Managed to actually finish this quest in 3 afternoons by using the MP153 with the longest barrel and FTX slugs with a 2x scope sitting in Skeleton and sniping people's legs (its a two shot to the legs) that are at Dorms, Stronghold, Bus Depot, and Elbow Skeleton. Maybe took me about 12 raids to do it this way and 7 deaths. Being able to just listen and snipe people moving into or out of Dorms from Skeleton, and people coming out of Elbow was how I got most of my kills. Lol Longest shot was 101 Yards. (my build had 4 MOA fyi)

the thing is, it isn't just a difficult and time consuming tasks, it is also a leading cause of ratting in all it's forms. People camp extracts, locations of other quests, and pretty much anywhere else they are convinced someone is coming by hoping to get the jump and get a first shot that hurts enough to slow the other player down. For the rest of us not on that quest, it makes customs a waste of time to visit. Every little hole in the wall has some frustrated camper with a shotgun. BSG really don't seem to think these quests through very well.

Its a Double edged Sword with Setup being early Im glad its early especially since it used to be locked after Chumming and Bullshit (being a awefull expierence for a solo) But annoyed that its early since Flechettes are only Flea and all the items needed (gear, weapon etc) is expensive when the traderlimit is hit

Never understood the complaints about setup. It's definitely one, if not, my favorite tasks in the game. Now that it's early wipe, everyone on Customs is running around with shotguns and ushankas. It's a blast. Plus, the complaints about shotguns being bad are just completely ungrounded. Piranha slaps so hard and if you aim, headshots are just like any other gun. I got the task done in like 10 raids, tops. I'm being generous with that estimate, it's prolly less. Loved it, would do it again. Edit: Ah, I see your problem. That build you were running is not great. Slugs and a suppressor are not the move. A 153 with a target ring and a choke running Piranha is definitely the better choice. No wonder you had such trouble.

This is why you don't rush this quest. You only do it when you have other things to do on customs. Once you get this one done you can fly by the rest of Skiers quests. Also just take your time when in raid and don't rush around. I get a lot of my kills waiting for a fight and third partying it or putting an elcon on a shot gun and using AP20 and doing ranged shots. You can also just rat around with magnum buck and 2 tap kneecaps.

As a player starting late this wipe, I also suffered from casue there are so many scav cosplayer hunting my ass while I can only have paca when I died too much and run out of armor… The saddest part is, I just unlocked setup today😂

I haven’t start setup yet, but I feel your pain, cause I’ve started Punisher 4, and I hate it since map is terrible, quest is terrible, everybody sitting and ratting. Not always possible to make PMC kills. Only positive thing that I’ve done during Punisher 4, I finally was able to complete “Corporate Secrets” and mark 4 fuel containers, which never did because of Insta slappes from bots.

I actually liked that they changed it to an early quest since you and others are doing the same quest you fight people similar as you. I feel like they just need to reduce the amount of kills you have to get from 15 to like 10. When it was a later quest it was frustrating because you would be on that quest while others dont even have it yet and are running real kits with full auto guns.

I have 11 kills with around 7 raids. Highly do not recommend pirahna as it is good on paper but its accuracy debuff means it has effective inconsistency. Rather go with something like ftx customs slugs, or as much accuracy boosting of a slug possible, for the open sections of the map and buckshot for the close quarters. With the new recoil it is alot easier to get more slugs on target at a farther distance than before, especially when suppressed.

If you wait until you have Jaeger at level 3 you can buy 50 BMG slugs. Makes it quite a bit easier.

As a big shotgun fan myself, I strongly recommend using the 153 with muzzle break, target ring and laser/flashlight combo. Also use flechette, it's still the best ammo! good luck in tarkov ;)

Use Pirahna. It's a little worse than flechette but it's actually obtainable on traders for pretty cheap

I honestly kinda enjoyed Setup this wipe, i usually avoid it too and by the time i get to it the population already deminished so i barely see people, the ones i see are duo/trios of geared chads. This time with everyone being low level, the armor changes and piraña it was way better/faster. First wipe ive killed a trio doing this quest

I haven't had a chance to play in a few days but I started working on this in my last raid of my last day playing. Got super lucky with some pretty poor gamers, got 7 kills in one raid, took our Reshala and his boys and got out with his golden TT. I'm dreading the rest of the task though if I'm being honest. Definitely not one of my favorites.

The real problem, compared to other wipes, is that u wont have flachette and ap-20. You cant even build a Ultima. So this wipe the quest feels more pain, because you shoot the enemys and noone drops. Furthermore it feels like the shootgun have MORE recoil this patch.

Honestly I had the opposite experience this wipe, setup was way easier than before. Got through it using the 155 with just the bottom ultima rail, a GK-02 and red dot. Load it up with piranha or buckshot and spam fire with almost no recoil. Also with how early in the quest chain it is now no one had any real gear so I did it in the first week of wipe by pushing every fight. Took maybe 8 raids with 2-3 deaths.

In a way, it's good that the quest is early. So you can slowly chunk the quest away. I think they should decrease the pmc kills to 7

Found this quest quite easy this wipe using a MP-153 with an ACOG and FTX slugs... However the PMCs I've killed doind this quest were almost all running piranha, and I don't wait why people doesn't trust slugs more

Set up is always a task I just let happen like grenadier. Night cache runs on custom in the scavsuit. 2/15 and about 4mil rouble profit, get there eventually...

@@RepublicOfWesternCanadaNOW True, but it was also placed further back pre lighthouse and streets. Kinda sucks you can't stack it with silent caliber now. I might just be over tasking at wipe 8 now, Level 3 traders in a few weeks and flea the rest. Level 4 happens or it doesn't.

I became a complete rat, used .50 BMG tracers since it pierced level 4 and 1 tapped. Bought a 2x optic and sat under bridge or near dorms. 7 raids to finish, not bad but super boring, they 100% killed the map with this task as even now, 1 month into the wipe I'm still finding nobody except people doing tasks or setup, maybe 1 or two people run into dorms.

i stopped useing slugs after 3 kills and 5 deaths. went over to Piranha and that was much better. lower recoil and was hitting them often in the neck and face.

I really enjoyed this task, piranha and a cheap 153 loadout that comes back on insurance. I just did this task whenever I was on customs doing the others, pick up 2-3 kills per raid sometimes 1 or none. I think why people hate it is they W key into pvp desperately trying to get the task done, this is not a good strategy for a shotgun with no helmet. I would recommend you move slower and always try to be near hard cover to help close the gaps, be more ratty and ambush people. You cannot expect to defeat squads with mp shotguns, they don't have large enough mags or good enough ammo to take out multiple targets. Just my 2 cents, I hope people come around to the shotguns, they can be quite fun and actually not bad if your not the most accurate person since at closer range you can usually get a head shot with some of the pellets even when rubbish aim like me XD

im gonna be honest, this took me 6 or 7 raids. after the first 2 dumb deaths because i was using pirana/ 8.5buckshot i swapped to makeshift .50 and wrecked the next 5 or so raids to get the quest done. and mind you im not a shotgun main threw a 3x on that thing and went ham

I will stand by that the best way to build a shotgun for this quest is a basically fully decked 153. Just run it loud with a muzzle break and then put the new shotgun sight on there with the pistol grip adapter and an actual stock. The difference in recoil and ergo make a HUGE difference when fighting people and the build is only around 90k.

I would argue with the recoil rework and how shotguns only seem to mildly benefit from the changes that Pump Actions are actually pretty solid picks now and are much better for getting the follow up shot.

I have 3 kits for setup. Ive done maybe 5 raids total. When I get a kit back in insurance I burn it again on setup. I think if ao tried to do it all in 1 go I'd ragequit tarkov
