The thing is: people don't know how to play the game. There are very few people that are actually interested in learning how the game works. They dive in too much into how does a hero work, but lack the knowledge of what are the win-cons of their games. That's why some guys say they're good, but they're hardstuck plat or gold or diamond or whatever their rank. They just rank up as far as brute force can get them. Most of the time people understand what their hero do, what are their cooldowns and how to click their enemies, but don't know when, why or if they should do what they're doing it.

im a reaper main and was stuck in gold because i played like this, after duoing with my cassidy friend who consistently does good (so basically carrying me on days i play trash) and ranking from gold to diamond with him i realize playing "the safe way" is the best possible playstyle, play unpredictably, with your team, and dont let them see you TP and you can be a really good reaper. it pushed me to start doing the things i knew i shouldve already been doing

If your complaining that your team is bad if they're not actively throwing or the matchmaking didnt mess it up. There's a huge chance that your the problem. When your actually way better than the rank your playing in it dosent matter how bad a particular player is performing, or how well the other team is playing. You'll destroy the other team regardless. Just Smurf and you'll figure this out..when your smurfing you're just a cut above the rest and can easily carry. Sometimes true. Sometimes not. As someone who’s had to rank up old accounts to play on, there are certain games you might get into that are unwinnable. And the difference might just be that your Ana never nades the enemy tank and their ana naddes your tank every fight. Yes if you are GM smudging in bronze then you can just win anyways off pure skill. But a gold player in bronze might not have the same carry potential but it doesn’t mean they suddenly deserve to be in bronze. This game I played (first one) there were plenty of mistakes that I made that may have cost us the game but it doesn’t necessary mean I deserve to be at that rank forever just because I lost in that rank. Sure enough some games later I ranked up into plat and now sit high plat low diamond across my roles.

Happened to me in my Low Diamond game... I'm playing as Ana and my Reaper complains that he's not getting healed on time on his deep disengages not realizing the Enemy Reaper is doing the same to me... Yes he managed to kill the backlines but we are getting killed as well and complained we s*cked for dying most of the time.. Even pointed out my Eliminations as Ana being the 2nd to the lowest on the team. Lol (I'm the most healing since I'm just trying my hardest to keep my team alive while doing dealing with the Reaper Flank before I die since no one is peeling for me and I'm not ML7 that can hit all his sleeps)... I swapped to Mercy to pocket him and yet same thing happened with this vid he dives too deep and too early expects a pocket and doesn't even made an effort to protect me... Some DPS players are just full of Ego imho.. I think Ego is a must for a DPS player to succeed since it's a fuel to take and win duels but overdosing yourself with it is BAD in everyway..

4:09 I acctual noticed this bug. As reaper you were unable to tp onto things with some sort of railing. Usually the tp effect would clip through the railing and destroy it when you confirm the tp. But this bug does not allow your tp effect to clip through railings, meaning you cannot tp unless you break said railing. Extremely annoying, it was fixed however.

Everyone has a different idea of how to play Overwatch. He'd do good with 4 friends that almost exclusively ran Rush because he just likes to run in balls to the wall. But when you play with random and no comms it's always bound to be a disconnect. He said his tank didn't know how to make space. How can you make space for you DPS that's rushing in ahead of you and getting staggered with one of your supports? If the tank tries to hold an angle to regroup and someone else gets picked everything is out of wack. Then he comes the rush DPS who sprints out of spawn and gets a pick or two and thinks they're carrying.

Ah yes, ow competitive. How I missed it. Since ow2 launch I've stopped with competitive. Only qp. I constantly get matched against gm players and top 500 and I absolutely mop the floor with them with my Ana. Did my placement today. First match with and against masters. Did great. Second match, I had GOLD team mates and got completely spawn camped without mercy with the whole team. Then I had a couple of matches with quitters, thowers and overall people without eyes, ears or hands. Average dps kills? 5. Combined. End of placement? Platinum. Platinum! I was close to masters in ow1. Now, after I feel I'm improved so much (to the point even gm players aren't really a threat), all of a sudden, I'm plat. A plat that can kill top 500 widows with Ana. That can sleep top 500 reins mid shatter. That can sleep gm tracers every single time they flank. That can keep their tank at 0 deaths most of the matches. Fuck this game (before some smart ass replies "you have the rank you deserve" tell me how tf am I supposed to win games with dps getting zero kills. And I'm serious. Most of my placement games I was pumping healz into fucking training bots)

Honestly i’m in the same boat. Reaper 1 Trick stuck in Gold 1. My aim is mid tbh, but I’d say i’ve got my positioning down. I know how far wraith form takes and what positions are safe. I know not to let them see my teleport. And I definitely know when to flank or frontline and when to peel or just play back with my tank. Sometimes I have bad games, especially when I can’t deal with Dva, but I honestly feel like i’m held back by bad teammates more than I hold them back. I’d say I deserve plat. The better your positioning and team is, the less you have to rely on mechanics. When I'm playing with Hanzo there are times that I can just sit my ass back and shoot randomly and win just because of a team, and sometimes the enemy team makes the same mistakes which makes them predictable and that's less mechanics on my part. Aim always matter, but a good positioning with a good team can reduce the burden on your mechanical play.

As someone who plays pharah, I kinda hate getting pocketed by mercy. Now I have to worry about keeping them alive while diving the enemies back line. I go in expecting to die a majority of time, but I try to take out the enemies hitscan or support when I do. If I can’t get the kill I’ll still draw atleast 2-3 ppls attention so the rest of my team can roll the other ppl not worried about me. Sometimes it doesn’t work tho😭

What I hate is when high rank players and coaches criticize a strong Gold player when if they are destroying the enemy team, your high rank knowledge really doesn't matter here, you can play as amazing as you want but if your tank or healers are crap, you lose. Forget about what you know in high ranks, when your teammates are so bad that they wont change heroes, leave, don't work together, or have little exp you will lose as many as you win. Gold is utter garbage and the only way to rank up is to carry hard. I play support, of course I could learn to play better, but if i'm literally providing the most heals everygame, that should be good enough to go up.

honestly, this whole elo hell thing is taken out of context. yes there are very bad teammates, especially the toxic dive tanks that want an ana to dive with them with no mobility, or hides behind walls spamming heals. But you're also being thrown into games with people of your skill level too. you dont jump into a game expecting to win everytime, thats why the matches go multiple rounds. I love playing against people with the same skill level and duking it out during extra rounds but you gotta realize some people are better. Im not the worlds best ana/moria main and i dont go into the game thinking i am, i can win 5 games straight and not loose or go 10 to nothing. blizzards ranking system needs to be better. I dont like getting thrown into gold with bronze players who troll the game, but i also like having fun and the game is fun even when you lose, especially after having 20k healing, i feel proud i even got that much healing or damage. Elo hell is just a myth lol let’s assume your MMR is 2500 (plat) and you “deserve” diamond, so your “true” MMR is 3000. Then every game you get in, your team has, on average, better players than theirs, assuming the matchmaking is doing its thing. That’s a big if, but if the matchmaking’s fucking up, that’s a separate issue. Assuming everyone’s the rank they should be in a game, if you’re truly better than the average player in your rank, you should climb over the course of a lot of games. Elo hell is copium. I’m not even better than these players, I just know that if I’m stuck st a rank I probably belong there and should try to improve

i play most of the time widow and today in my matches my enemy reaper was the same as contender #1. And guess what... i headshot him everytime even in close range when he goes out from fog, literally the character cant say the first word from his ult speech becouse he is easy predictable. For contender #2 i can say i have seen soldier players in silver with better aim then him

Love DPS (especially Reaper mains). This guy is getting pocketed and Nano'ed yet he think his team didn't do anything. Just wow. Also players like him that push too far and try to 1v5 are the reason we have Lifeweaver's Life Grip ability. Its cooldown should be five seconds to just pull this guy back to the team the whole game haha.

You can make any hero work on any map if you're good enough, just makes it harder for you 100%

you can def get out the trenches, went from silver tank to diamond tank in 1 season. you just gotta take a step back and critically analyze your mistakes
