I speak from experience with my Durango SRT 392 that if they can't steal it, they'll make sure you wish they did. Every seat cut up, the headliner, touchscreens, every wire by the pedals, and the door panels with a razorblade plus they pissed all over inside. 9 months in the repair shop later, waiting on parts to get delivered, my insurance company finally considered it totalled.

Yeah I had my Scat stolen back in April this year and I just got it back around September. Almost 13k insurance company put into it. It’s insane. I definitely took security measures more now but like you said, if they can’t get it they will destroy it.

I put a old 1960's style floor dimmer switch in to kill the same wires you showed. Reason, no second remote to carry, and no one can tell when, or where I am reaching to kill the ignition.. its on the floor, under behind the carpet, foot activated.

i personally would install that on fuel pump relay or the coil packs relay... harder install need more info if youre doing it but its not as obvious... besides then that will stop someone from starting it with a relay hack or an obd hack...

Don't want to mess with that push button. The ones that hook to the battery w no wire cutting are way better. Harder to get to the trunk and if something goes wrong, you can have it off in minutes. Also, thieves are chekcing for Carlock now.

This maybe a nutty question, is it possible that this switch can turn on while driving since it is electronic?! Like a glitch of some sort to trigger it? What happens if that does occur? Because if you can kill the car remotely within range, how is that any different if it goes off accidentally!? I believe it's the starter that he effected so once the car is on there's no need to worry. Hence he was able to remote start it. Had he spliced it to the fuel pump that would cause the engine to shut off.

It's wired to the switch ... the only thing it affects is the functionality of the switch. I believe the safety system of tge vehicle disables to push button start when the vehicle is out of park anyway... so no difference tban if you pushed the start button while driving.

My 2018 Daytona reading 12.4 when off ,but when it’s on it’s at 14.2/14.3 , but when I’m idling it’ll drop to 13 when running accessories but bounce right back up to 14.3 ,is the car not charging sufficiently when it’s off ? Cars operate off a 12v system, they only go above 12v when being actively charged like via alternator. Which of course means higher RPMs means more charge. 12.4v while off just means you have a healthy, fully charged battery.

Pretty much on the wires to the starter button there is a black and red wire. Cut those. The kill switch has an “in” set of wires and “out” set of wires The out set of wires go to start button The in set of wires go to the wires from the power source of the car if that makes sense

Don't like the idea of extra remote. Manual switch is doing the same thing. I've got a 2020 challenger 50th anniversary wide body shaker with 2 added deterrents. First shock sensor added to factory alarm..second start kill wired at the BCM. Only a wrecker is getting my car. Have also done start circuit kill on my 2021 laramie. You have to remember to turn it OFF!
