This Roblox game made me rethink my choices...

This is a really good video, and an even greater game. Even if the creator doesn’t have the best English (which wasn’t even a problem, it was written to where almost anyone could understand), the game portrayed serious topics so well. I really just yap for the next few paragraphs, but all in all what I tried to say was that, it is really well written. I liked it a lot as someone who struggled with the same thing the protagonist is going through. Like depression. When you’re depressed, you don’t have the luxury of being able to be yourself anymore, and you feel like you’re truly at your lowest, everything around you feels like it exists to just irritate you. It’s an often overlooked emotion in depression, since the main focus is you feeling sad and not being able to get out of it. Irritably is a common thing amongst those with depression, and you can really tell the protagonist is going through a lot to the point of suicidal ideation (“I just want to disappear”). And even when depression is a bad enough disorder to make someone compelled to commit, people will still guilt the person, intentionally or not (“what about your mom?”, “you’re really selfish”). It’s short, but there’s a lot you can find in this kind of demo playthrough. Like how the mom notes that she heard screaming, or how the protagonist’s whispers sounded like they were many instead of one. This kind of implies, or at least I think so, that the protagonist is just spewing out whatever thoughts they have in order to just get it out or to stop thinking about it. And when the protagonist tried to let go of the past, flashes of bad memories appear. This hints to abuse, as well as his good memories being tainted by the bad ones. This is also a common thing for people who have PTSD, one small thing can trigger a reaction or memory that’s unsavory or unpleasant. Not to mention, since they’re memories ranging from when they were a child, up until their graduation, it’s been happening since forever, and is still continuing to happen, evident by the events in the game. The protagonist has gone through a lot, from possibly physical abuse (the hammer marks on the door), to neglect (the parents being away for extended periods of time, as well as not providing them help, ie, counseling). Not to mention, they lose their best friend, and possibly only friendship because they didn’t want to hurt neither of them, as well as the sudden change in environment. A lot of the times, a new environment can cause someone to feel like they have a clean slate, exciting yet something nerve-wracking. But for someone like the protagonist who suffers from depression, PTSD, and possibly even other illnesses, it can be extremely stressful, and it is stressful for them. Proven by the way it was sudden, by the way they lost their closest friend, by the way they seem to just dip further and further down the deeper end. And even though the protagonist has a desire to move on, they can’t. Stuck in the past, without closure and without a way to get their feelings out. With not even their parents, they’re left alone in the house to fend for themselves. And the saddest part would be that it’s not even the first time they would have to go through this.

Hyuno_ooo is a really great dev! She made RPG Elevator which had the most insane opening that just surprised me so much. And now they yet again came back with this one! It's so nice to see more games from them.
