I couldn't get the 1800 hobbywing to fit in optic?? How did you get it to fit??

You need to shave a little material off the rear upper link. Thats what the motor is hitting. Unless you mean it's not fitting on the transmission. In that case. Pull the motor plate off, mount the motor, then mate it all back to the transmission itself.

Axial hasn't done much since the 10.3 Gladiator. The new CJ7 is cool, will be better with Matt driving😆 Traxxas, is Traxxas Element, I dig the Zuul IFS2, I'd like to make a prerunner with one. RC4WD needs a better esc and servo. Redcat, I still want a green GEN8 V2. I like the Fusion that I drove, so smooth Vanquish, I haven't gotten my Phoenix done yet(need electronics), I'd like an Optic for a rock racer/woods runner

The 10.3 trans isn't good. Basecamp trans is ok. The cj7 is a cool body... thats about it. Rc4wd.... They need alot... They are so old. But yeah. I agree with you on it all.

I’d like to get into comp crawling. Is the kit version (random body) of this a good one to get started with? Or are there better options? I don’t mind tinkering with setups and parts to maximize potential.

What type of comp crawling. If you want to comp crawl. I'd recommend the vrd carbon. Or any of the vrd platform. This can crawl very well. But it's not a typical comp crawler, and the axles are quite wide. If you want a optic. Rtr comes with great tires. But you would need to upgrade electronics, wheels, diff gears (ring and pinion). Kit has no wheels and tires, better ring and pinion, and no electronics. Metal motor plate, and metal standoffs on the transmission as well. I probebly would have got the kit if I knew they were doing that. But. I like the rtr to. Same truck.. I juat upgraded things. But comp wise. I'd say vrd platform. Even in we rc rock the optic needs a metal cage and a full depth interior to be legal.

I mean I prefer this out of any of them. And vanquish has the best parts. Capra is good. But the transmission sucks. And the axles aren't the best looking in my opinion. Got for a optic kit.

I shimed the rear axel on kit and it still sounds and feels awful.

Do you have everything hooked up. Is the whole truck together. Did you grease the diff. Is there any chips in the gear. Are the bearings fully seated.

This is a trail buggy... that you could turn into a racer if you wanted to... but its a trail buggy, that can be a comp crawler buggy. But you could do either rock racer or bouncer... with upgrades. But. I dont do that stuff. So... wouldn't know...
