Anyone else think that 1 feather 1 shot level was cleared the intended way? Maybe it's not possible to fly through in 1 go and you're meant to jump on top and glide in ducked, otherwise the WR would surely be quicker and everyone else 'cheesed' it the same way.

19:33 - I'm pretty sure that the way you beat that level (the one just finished at that time) was simply a classic dev power-up/skip scenario. There was a red pipe at the bottom of that diagonal spike area, which I assume would've led to the "required" sub-world. But the creator simply wasn't good enough to do whatever was down there, so cleared it the way you did. On the other hand, that propeller shroom and Yoshi weren't very well hidden; I imagine many people would just naturally find them by accident. So I guess I'm not completely sure. Seeing that flying tutorial level strongly reminded me of the similar level I made in SMM1, soon after that game came out - same directional arrows at timed intervals, and even a test at the end with the words "final exam" written out. Funny. Oh, and regarding that cheese in the tough flying level toward the end of the video: I'm happy to say that I spotted that exact cheese about a minute before you did. I wasn't immediately sure if there would be enough time to use it, but after a few attempts I could see that there was. Looks like I've learned well from the cheese master. :-)
